I Think there's no coin yet ever replace nor beat bitcoin as for the moment...all of those coins regardless of their name and value and how great they can be, still does not able to beat and compare bitcoin.
We all know that other coins price are affected by that of bitcoin. If bitcoin price falls, all the coins price is affected negatively.
It does not have competition for now but believe it can have in future when the large investors/company come in to the crypto currency industry and create a unique coins which will be accepted by all..
now btc glory has begun to fade with many new circulating altcoins, I agree with that opinion. if btc can not reach general usage and can be used daily paying methode btc price will worsen. alt cryptocurrency more gaining user this day and becoming btc threat.

For now the only crypto currency competing with bitcoin is ethereum and dont think they can even came closer to it in future, lets just see if we will see another competition..
All my bitcoins are invested in a few altcoins. In the end, i sell all of them for more bitcoins.
Currently it is still the best bitcoin but we do not know in the future. Surely there will be competition whether it will replace the bitcoin to be the best or not. Just wait time is the knowledge of those who know and the technology continues to grow.

Actually there is a competition for bitcoin. The alts are rising up taking a fair share of bitcoin's status. Although bitcoin is leading the market, yet it is not a guarantee that other altcoin is not serving as a threat being a competitor which is trying to steal some from bitcoin. Yet until now none of the altcoins have replaced bitcoin on its throne as being the leader and most popular coin of all. Five years from now, I could still see bitcoin at the top. How about you?
Of course it does not because bitcoin is the strongest coin that was issued ever from the cryptocurrencies coins! You will now see, that for the period of 10 years nobody can go even close to what bitcoin is in terms of market.
I don't agree that bitcoin lacks competition, but I agree that people are too quick to declare that bitcoin will die or lose its top position. Even during the scaling issues bitcoin proved itself to be a good store of value for savers.
Bitcoin is very stronger and powerful because this cryptocurrency have strong enough and its hard to make a coins like bitcoin. People want to take and keep bitcoin and not other altcoins for their storing wealth. people use other altcoins only for trading purpose.

Bitcoin has no competition, in the end all the cryptocurrencies have as a reference the price of bitcoin. It is the currency that really generates confidence. 
I think the bitcoin is now number 1. But somewhere in the future there will be a money can be invisible. I put my trust in ETH and ADA. Those two will pass bitcoin in the future
