Bitcoin is still at 45% market dominance compared amongst 867 currencies in the crypto markets. This is during a BTC downtrend too.
perhaps the destruction of a bit of bitcoin leads to varying speculations. but for me still hold bitcoin for the fore better and more profitable. I consider this something very profitable going forward.
Completely agreed with the author of the topic. The bitcoin has ceased to amaze, its transactions are very slow and require a lot of elethric energy. Already, there are many currencies that can compete with it.
You have a point in Bitcoin will not be the best after more years, just like any other invention there are always an innovation which is good for us, we just have to follow the rising technology,

First bitcoin is good,tradable,good price,etc,in what area specifically are you referring to as bitcoin may not be number one for long? Is a statement or a question?
This is now 2018 and we can see that ethereum is still far behind from bitcoin, the crypto market is just too hard to predict even by an expert, what we do more in crypto is speculate and not give definite answers, cause the answer you give today can in a minute change into another answer. Maybe this is because the technology is Still very new and we all are still trying to understand it.
Well, we are already in 2018 and bitcoin is still number one and might continue to hold that position until you and i are no more. Ethereum is next after bitcoin, but i dont think it is seriously competing with bitcoin, i just think it is also superor to the other altcoins.
These sort of threads have appeared here ever since 2011. But even after all these years, no altcoin is capable of giving a tough competition to Bitcoin. I am not saying that it may not happen in the future. But at least for the next 2-3 years, we don't have to think about it.

I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.
As of now there are hundreds of hundreds of bitcoin that have been discovered and there are still hundreds of hundreds coins that have not been discovered so I think someday for sure one coin will stand out and bitcoin will be replaced by other cryptocurrency, but for now let us celebrate that bitcoin is still on top.
Anyway it will eventually move the other. This is a normal cycle. There is nothing eternal. In many ways, the price depends on the major players and they basically decide what to bet on.
it could be bitcoin replaced but not in the near future, maybe bitcoin will be replaced ten years ahead. indeed many coins are on the rise but will wait a long time to replace bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the first coin that is made thousand years ago but its always mantain its popularity. More and more bitcoiner trust and invest on it each day. Bitcoin will remain number one among the crypto currencies for a very long time. This is due to the fact that Bitcoin is the only decentralized digital coin at the moment. No one manages the single functioning of the bitcoin ecosystem, because Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared. Etherium has the opposite. There is a team of developers and promoters who can play back in an unfavorable scenario, as happened with DigitDAO.
Well, in my own observation we cant realy say that bitcoin will be the number one forever but maybe it will happen long time from now and no one can realy know what will happen in the future.
