I choose the bitcoin all day long and it indeed also dropped with some numbers, I think the bitcoin is way stabler than it and it has a better profit and succeed chance.

Bitcoin seems to be the past and Ethereum the future.

The question is : when BTC will worth almost zero? Next year? In 2 years? Smiley

ETH will get dumped badly soon, watch this space. We heard this rubbish with Ripple before & look how that ended.

You didn't give much of a choice did you. The answer to this is 'time will tell.'

None of the ALTcoins stand a chance against Bitcoin. But I see a great future for Ethereum aswel because it has a good utilization but I see it very different than Bitcoin

You wouldn't know that. Just because btc is very much established now doesn't mean it's gonna last forever.

Bitcoin and ethereum are two different platforms, it is sure that lots of speculators and investors will be devided between eth and btc till future but i don't see any reason for bitcoin to go zero and eth to be prime. Ethereum will be popular for smart contracts (may be) and bitcoin will always be great crypto payment solution.

I think they are complementary and that any good long term crypto portfolio should have substantial exposure to both

BTC remains king, but with so many questions regarding scalability, governance, soft fork/hard fork, you can't blame anyone to look at alternatives. Also, when there's mystery about Satoshi, everything's clear with Vitalik Buterin, who is a young guy with a sharp mind. If BTC were to fail, the successor will be Ether.

If Ethereum's market cap is higher any more places accept Ethereum than Bitcoin, i would choose Ethereum.
Too bad, i only see few places accept Ethereum and looks like most holders use Ethereum as trading/investment.

I still believe Bitcoin is the major player, it is more widely accepted. Ethereum is now the second altcoin, but still very young,
I only bought into Ethereum to do some trading to increase my Bitcoins  Grin

It does seem that ethereum has stability in that context compared to bitcoin as it don't change all that much.
In accordance to bitcoin's price of course.

What can I do with Ethereum? I don't do GPU mining nor am I trading alt coins on the exchanges and I haven't seen an online retailer that accepts Ethereum as a legitimate method of payment so why should I be excited about Ethereum and prefer it over Bitcoin which is a lot more useful and accepted at a lot more places and actually there are even ATM and debit cards for it. I mean come on we all know that Bitcoin is not going down anytime soon and all this speculation is just pure nonsense.
That is why it never will get off the ground. Nobody accepts it as a form or payment. The only places that I have seen it being used are in exchanges for BITCOIN.  Cheesy
So it will not survive without bitcoin if it tried to kill it off then it is marking it's own doom.

Ethereum can have value of 100 $ each nut still it can not push Bitcoin out of its central position.Bitcoin is very simple and basic technology behind it but it is most popular and will always be prime/standard to set anything like Ethereum or else to set their value.I don't believe Bitcoin ever will lost its value or will be zero. All these are just talks nothing more.

I think they are almost the same but i will stay at bitcoin because more store are accepting bitcoin as payment.. the diffirence of ethereum its profitable to mine ethereum with GPUs unlike bitcoin because of difficulty and the price of bitcoin.. but still bitcoin is more useful and some countries are accepting bitcoin as payment like brazil..

This was said about every Alt coin particularly LTC.

Bottom line is they all trade at a minuscule fraction of BTC.
...

Price of unit has zero meaning, so I assume you mean trade volume. As of now ETH noted $30m compared to Bitcoin's $51m (24h as per coinmarketcap). That's almost 60%, definitely not a 'minuscule fraction'.
