For long time i choose Gold, The physical gold, we can trade it use it also we can hold it with real hand
for short time i choose bitcoin, because bitcoin price can up after mining end

But what is economic crisis start tomorrow. Then price of Gold will go up til the end of it. So you never know what is better.

If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.

I love bitcoin and as such must chose it in this choice. But must be realist. Bitcoin for the moment is a wonder. A beautiful wonder which every bitcoiner want to see become reality. No one have the security of the future of bitcoin and first of all of its value. So, to be honest, I will chose mostly the gold. Let's saying 80% of all the amount of money which will be invested. And only 20% will buy bitcoin. A choice which dishonors me as bitcoiner but make me more sure about my money. If I am not wrong. Because the price of bitcoin can go in the sky and I will cry all my life for making this choice.

The biticoin doesn't have a fix price I mean it changes every time. Although it is a good investment because I have heard good things about this for a long time now. Whereas gold has its value established long time ago and very it is very popular.

There is a limit in the universe, how small data storage/efficiency can be, and we have reached that limit with possible nano computers.

Well..., in addition to the diamond story, you may want to go and find out what scientific progress is essentially about

I don't think quantum computers will render all encryption useless, though some algos may evidently suffer badly (if not most)...

It is just a matter of choosing (or developing) a secure algorithm

But you dont understand that quantum computing is an overhyped hoax, the matter is too unstable in large quantum blobs and it will cause "interference" up to the point where the information will break down into noise

To both of you, gold is actually abundant in nature. There are from 8 to 20 million tons of gold dissolved in the ocean waters. But given its concentration (somewhere between 0.1 and 2.0 mg per ton, depending on location), it is uneconomical to extract it using any current technology...

So then after better technology comes out, your gold will be diluted? And i`m not saying this ocean-water extraction would work.

But the proton bombardment of mercury could be a much easier way to synthetize gold, after we would create a massive solar power powered particle accelerator.

I think your gold will be so diluted in the next 20-30 years that It would not be the same as it was thousands of years before.

There is a story about diamonds. You are strongly advised to get acquainted with it

What about quantum computers and bitcoin then?

They exist now in a crude form and we all know how fast technology moves.  All encryption will be rendered useless killing bitcoin instantly.

It is better to diversify your investments. Dont rely on a single product as you don't know what future will offer you so it is better to diversify your investment

Yes it is good idea to diversify investments. Bitcoin prices are quite dynamic hence one can invest money which you are ready to accept some losses if your not watching out prices every day. The other hand gold prices movements are not so dynamic so in the long run you will get good returns on your investments.

Gold is always better than Bitcoin. Entire world is using and investing in gold from the ages but bitcoin is limited to the group of people only. its difficult to deal in bitcoin for your daily transactions as its not accepted universally. On other hand people have more trust on gold as anyone can buy, sell the gold easily. Credibility of bitcoin is less as compared to gold, so go for gold.

Its good.

But whats even better is to hedge on both, so incase if the banks pick up in their system to use it some way.

Its going to explode esp if they use it towards their other partner banks.

Gold, hands down.

Bitcoin is for gambling/trading volatility on steroids, not a serious long term store of wealth.

I`m with you on this.

Bitcoin and most of its tx id`s are going towards known dice sites or any known gambling sites. I dont see any future serious growing wealth out of it but only for the gambling industry.

Synthesizing gold is never going to happen on any meaningful scale in the foreseeable future and as for using particle accelerators to create large amounts of gold - then why arent CERN doing it thus becoming a self funding super rich organisation.

I`m no expert in physics, but from what I heard is that quantum computers on large scale are mostly a hoax.

The matter is too unstable to create that many quantum objects, and it would somehow collapse in state before any calculation can be done with it.

So basically anything with more than 16 qbits is probably impossible to sustain, and a computer with that much computing power is hardly any better than what we currently have.

Thanks GOD the universe has some restrictions , otherwise these idiot scientists would exploit anything making individuals more vunlerable to destruction. We already had it with the nuclear bomb, we dont need anything more dangerous.

you talk like you have explored and gone inside every land there is on planet earth. as long as you haven't done that, you never know for sure how much gold is left inside but yes it could be understood that there is not as much left as a noob would think. Comparing gold and bitcoin in terms of potential growth, its clear bitcoin is much more ahead but its the history and existence of gold from more than a century which really attracts people.

I think you need to learn some basic thing in your life because to understand how long gold is still available no need to go to each every mine but you need to have a some common sense of how to get the information in the web. If you do not know just google it or look in to wiki pages.

MinerHQ, you little piece of shit, you probably believe everything you read on the internet, right? How could any person who has written such an article know exactly how much gold there is? Where'd you get your information? BBC talking about if I was a supervillain and wanted to melt gold and make a cube, how much would its size be? Yeah, I read that shit and Warren Buffet talking about it too. I wouldn't really know how much gold exists in this world because not every piece of land on earth has been dug and explored yeah? If you know so much, enlighten me about how much gold really exists?
