I don't think it's a bad idea. Well, don't tranfert ALL your bitcoins, but 50/50 doesn't seem absurd. At least for January, where there is a strong chance for XRP to continue to rise.
In my opinions, a lot of people here value BTC more than XRP because they are biaised by the ideology behind it. "Bitcoin is freedom, Ripple is the ally of the ugly bad bankers". Man, who cares ? XRP is faster and cheaper than BTC, it has a REAL utility and banks are starting to show their interest. BTC is a dinosaur in comparison.

it would be risky to put btc into ripple. Well, many big things seemed risky at first and brought gains later, but this is what i would not do

Why?

Ripple is mooning again. Bitcoin have lost all of its momentum.
Almost 2x as much money are injected in to Ripple than Bitcoin today.

Today:
Ripple: $6.3B
Bitcoin: $3.5B

Ripple is mooning while Bitcoin is going down.
Bitcoin is a dead project

Ripple is stable but it is not decentralized, Its supply can be doubled over a night and you can not do anything about it!
Although, I agree that it has a better technology but deep down it is own buy a company and against cryptocurrency spirit!

No more XRPs can ever be created. Seriously stop with these idiotic tinfoil hat theories.
For one, the XRPs was created when Ripple created the software. They are fixed. There will be no more.
And even if it was possible, which it isnt, do you think a now multi billion company would destroy their reputation and lose their business by printing more and be rejected by everyone after?

I mean, where do you guys find these silly theories?

Ripple is centralized coin. It can be used to control XRP holders. Banks are very interested in it. My opinion, it is "fake" crypto.

It depends.

Do you prefer a gold bar or a heap of pig manure sprayed with gold paint?

1 pound of pig manure is a lot cheaper so it must be the better deal. And most people don't notice the difference until it's too late.  Grin

If XRP was something you could hold in your hands and sniff it, nobody would buy that rubbish anymore  Roll Eyes

Oh please, you have zero arguments other than blind fanboyism like «Bitcoin rules, it was the first cryptocoin».
Its a shitcoin, slow, inefficient and it steals peoples money because of high fees.
Ripple is about cheap and ultrafast settlement for people. A banking project but without any banks controlling anything

the best choice is Bitcoin. of course. No one altcoin or coin can be beat of bitcoin
Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency in the world.

Bitcoin is the Altavista of the internet while Ripple is Google.
So sorry, Ripple is already beating Bitcoin and will soon replace it.

Just today people have traded Bitcoin for $3.6B and Ripple for $5.9B.

Hello,

Would it be smart to transfer all the Bitcoin you own to Ripple.
Ripple is rising smoothly and seems very stable and it's not done yet.

What do you think?

Thanks! Smiley

sounds like a bad move. For a change you can turn 30% of bitcoin into ripple (while it is still affordable). XRP has a strong technology behind and banks can adopt its blockchain in the future. Read somewhere that there are seventy-five  banks interested into ripple, but they need to test it (which lasts six months or something).

I don't think you should transfer all bitcoin into ripple Because ripple is not much in demand than what bitcoin have in cryptocurrency market .
And also we should not only go with bitcoin but also with these two coins will be more better .
Here in the market of cryptocurrency nothing is sure , one can go much down and one can go much up , totally a unpredictable job of trading so here my suggestion that if you have big will to have ripple then buy small amounts of bitcoin and hold your bitcoin in your wallet or have another coins .
And also we can see that when a coin's market get up then at that time discussion about that goes much in every platform about history and future , so don't go with rumors and treat it as altcoins and make wise trading to amke profit.

In the next 10 years, both ripple and bitcoin survive for sure but ripple is centralized so it may be not profitable for people in the future. Bitcoin is decentralized and for people.

Ripple seems like the project with the most capability to become something massive, although ripple roots are not very tied to bitcoin philosophy seems like a good investment, 2018 will be a good yaer for it, anyways my recommendation is always to diversify your portfolio, keep your btc if you can and don't marry a coin
Hello! Ripple seems to be a very good project with huge prospects, will we see a growth above 20000 satosh, or did the correction begin?
