Bitcoin is real, I am sure a lot of people here can attest to that. I am indeed a living example of someone who found a good source of income and good investment in Bitcoin. But I also cannot deny the fact that there are also a lot of people who are using Bitcoin to take advantage of those who also want to earn, those are the scammers, so I highly recommend not to trust right away, also do your own research and learn the things you will do before giving anything.

It depends upon the knowledge of person to person. Before saying 'Bitcoin is SCAM' you must learn how bitcoin works what is the technology behind it and how actually blockchain works. If you know these very well then you can easily understand the things why bitcoin can reach to $20000 and what you can expect the price of bitcoin in the near future. Don't listen what the other peoples are saying who doesn't know anything about it. Just learn and think.

I just want to say a one line quote:

Bitcoin is not a bubble, while it is a pin.
I agree with almost all of your words, but we can not predict fate. Now is a difficult time for bitcoin, as it is attacked from all sides by different governments. But there are also governments that have not decided how to deal with crypto currencies, and they are watching If bitcoin can not fight off today's attacks,
I'm afraid that it will be difficult in the future.

I was invited by a friend of a friend to invest in Bitcoin last year. He told me that if I invest 5000 in our currency it will be doubled in a month's time. He also promised me that I will get referral fees and override from every person I introduced to Bitcoin and that prices of Bitcoin are expected to increase. To make the story short I did not join because I believe its a pyramiding scam. Truth to be told I did my research on Bitcoin after that and it turn's out that Bitcoin's price was really on rise unfortunately I did not invest at that time. Currently I'm learning more thru this forum and I thank my friend for inviting me here. Just last December I heard from one of my friends that the company they joined was in fact a pyramiding scam and the money they invested in just vanished out of thin air together with the people who invited them. We should be wary of people offering investments and opportunities to us. Do your research. Opportunity comes with risks as well as the rewards. If its too good to be true, it might be a scam. Bitcoin is not a SCAM but there are people who uses Bitcoin to SCAM other people. Good luck to us and more power to Bitcoin!

I don’t know where he gets the story about referral fees unless he was talking about Bitconnect which I think may have done this.  Also, there is no guarantee that the price doubles in any particular time frame. In fact we saw at the beginning of this year that the price dropped to about half of the peak.

The facts are that Bitcoin has potential to make great gains but it is still a high risk investment. There could be negative news or government regulations that make the price drop.

Unfortunately, every day more scams based on the bitcoin theme seem to prevail, the only thing they have achieved is to enrich a few scammers at the expense of the credibility of bitcoin, so I believe that one of our duties as people involved in this issue is to denounce publicly this kind of trickery as soon as we find out about them in any medium.

This is an interesting story, maybe this is one of a thousand stories about the benefits of Bitcoin. For me this story is very inspiring people out there who want to join or invest with Bitcoin or the people who are in this forum, which needs to be corrected is better if we invest without going through others.

Unfortunately there are always people who will use the name (bitcoin) to deceive other people! the only thing I can advise is to perepravit, to clarify and not be lazy! it's hard-earned money. and if you want to increase it, you need to learn to think with your head! sorry for grammatical mistakes!

So don’t trust any website for investment

In most cases yes! but I for example on investment projects in the middle of last year very well came out in plus and earned the capital on investments in bitcoins! And it turned out so that earnings + bitcoin growth gave me a good investment portfolio.

Hi, related to this. I've been reading a thread on bounty scam. A translator applied for a bounty campaign. The campaign manager did offer to pay in BTC; 50% in advance and the balance upon completion of the project in lieu of the Bounty Token. The translator did accept the offer as the campaign manager would rather accept another translator if his terms are not accepted, (power tripping over here). Currently the said translator is claiming that he was scammed by the campaign manager since he did not pay the Bounty Token to him after completing the project. What are your thoughts on this? Is the translator correct to say he was Scammed?

Good to hear that there are still people who, despite of their lack of knowledge, didn't fall in false promises of someone who uses btc as a frontbin their scams. I'm glad that you weren't blinded by the too good to be true promises of these people. However, it is true that many people who are still doubting BTC and think that it is a scam due to those scammers who leveled up and used it to scam others. Some of my closest friends think so that's why I never bothered encouraging them into crypto investments. But sometimes I still keep on wondering why they would close their minds about it. To think that they should be more aware of it since we all have degrees in IT. Anyhow, let's just go on and focus with our investments and enjoy this great opportunity.

The people who think that bitcoin a scam they probably have no idea or a limited information about it, these days people only join bitcoin just because they think it is a very easy and fast way to make a lot of moeny, and they don't even bother knowing what it is really about, and they go on investing hundred of dollars until at some point they lose their moeny because they don't know the risks, so they quit and camplain about how bitcoin is a total scam.

Yeah, bitcoin isn't scam but there are alot of people who are misusing bitcoins as a way to scam people. And because of such people, bitcoin's reputation is going down. Also, I've heard bitcoin was being used for crimes, which  drops it's rep down even further.
I think if such things stop, bitcoins/other cryptos will definitely get more power.

The first rule in crypto, never trust anyone. The second rule in crypto, never forget the first rule. If you are investing a single dollar then even in that case it is always recommended to invest your time worth $10 before making the investment of that single dollar. Bitcoin is not a scam but since we are still in the development for phase, there is lack of awareness in the general public thus scammers target those people who are willing to invest in Bitcoin or who are willing to get some benefit out of it.

* Over $500 million in cryptocurrency stolen.

well you could have at least tried to think of a better tittle to put in to your thread. lol. but i get your point man. truly, proper research about things before you invest really pays off. specially on the ones that truly just seems too good to be true. but to be honest, i really cannot believe that your friend still got scammed by a pyramiding scheme at this point in time? man, i think that person who scammed your friend really had great skills or a special talent in fooling people. because by now, people should be smart enough to avoid pyramiding scams like what you have just said(that is if that pyramiding scam just happened recently though).

a good life story, and can teach us a lesson.
it seems like such people will be much more in 2018. so I think we should know more about BTC. if you want to invest we should trust people who have been successful in bitcoin and that we know.
bitcoin is real, not scam.

I support your point of view, but I think I can explain in more detail why bitcoin is real. First, bitcoin is independent and decentralized, and no one can control it. Second, Bitcoin is an objective reality. He has a large user base. It is valuable. It is a tool that can play a role of payment and can be exploited by others, but he is not a Ponzi scheme because it exists Has value, and you can always choose to support it or oppose it, and no one will force you, you are said to be cheated personal reasons, one is a liar intentionally, one is your ignorance, so well-developed network resources Society you would not go to inquire and understand bitcoin, so bitcoin is real, but some people are lazy.

I agree with you.
this is the function of forum bitcoin talk to know more about what bitcoin is and what we want to know from bitcoin all the answer here.

That is a clear pyramiding scam, just one of the contributors of the negative news that brought negative news about what bitcoin really is. Your story really helps those newbies in trading and investing in bitcoin, just do not go to third parties that promised a to good to  be true to earn bitcoin the fast way, the essence of bitcoin is not thru pyramiding, there is no such thing as big return of investment in a little time, in bitcoin, you must earn it the hardway, sometimes you win, sometimes you loose, depending on the volatility of bitcoin price, it takes a lot of patience and hardwork to earn, never trust no one, just trust you own decision and always be aware of bitcoin trends.
