I was invited by a friend of a friend to invest in Bitcoin last year. He told me that if I invest 5000 in our currency it will be doubled in a month's time. He also promised me that I will get referral fees and override from every person I introduced to Bitcoin and that prices of Bitcoin are expected to increase. To make the story short I did not join because I believe its a pyramiding scam. Truth to be told I did my research on Bitcoin after that and it turn's out that Bitcoin's price was really on rise unfortunately I did not invest at that time. Currently I'm learning more thru this forum and I thank my friend for inviting me here. Just last December I heard from one of my friends that the company they joined was in fact a pyramiding scam and the money they invested in just vanished out of thin air together with the people who invited them. We should be wary of people offering investments and opportunities to us. Do your research. Opportunity comes with risks as well as the rewards. If its too good to be true, it might be a scam. Bitcoin is not a SCAM but there are people who uses Bitcoin to SCAM other people. Good luck to us and more power to Bitcoin!

unfortunately, many people truly use bitcoin for evil, some also created ICO for them to scam others, but Bitcoin itself is not a scam because it's only a transaction system.
I think the scam that you are referring is a double your bitcoin or Bitconnect that suddenly go down. most of the lending company here in crypto is truly a scam because some of them don't have a product to endorse and only rely on their token.

This teaches us a lesson not to trust in this kind of schemes. Bitcoin is not a scam but some people uses the word bitcoin to scam others. This is true. I've seen it many times. Just like what you've said, like a pyramiding scheme. When they introduced it to me, they are like networkers. I don't believe them. They didn't knew that I'm in to cryptocurrency and I know how it works.

Sometimes lot of newbies got scammed because they just jumping to crypto without knowing what is crypto world.

Hi, related to this. I've been reading a thread on bounty scam. A translator applied for a bounty campaign. The campaign manager did offer to pay in BTC; 50% in advance and the balance upon completion of the project in lieu of the Bounty Token. The translator did accept the offer as the campaign manager would rather accept another translator if his terms are not accepted, (power tripping over here). Currently the said translator is claiming that he was scammed by the campaign manager since he did not pay the Bounty Token to him after completing the project. What are your thoughts on this? Is the translator correct to say he was Scammed?

yeah sadly , even some newbies think that bitcoin can be only used in ponzis and other making money schemes
one of my friend actually contacted me to ask me which cloud mining site I use , cause he just heard about bitcoin and he thought that the only use for bitcoin is to invest it in cloud mining and other sites that claim to offer guaranteed returns ( thanks to some idiot youtubers )

No offence but... if you follow _anyone_ promising 100% returns on anything, you're bending over and spreading your arsecheecks...

Use your brain guys. Bitcoin can be a wonderful investment, can be a destructive one. regardless, why do you think you need a company to manage your returns?

I think always analyze and investigate, when I want to invest. yes it is important to know the project and progress. we always have to monitor to avoid errors such as scam. make an example for the future to be able to choose on a project that is not a scam.

a better option is to invest directly, not through others. you can buy bitcoin with fiat. Keep it in your wallet and then wait until you see a profit. because the bitcoin is real and promising, not a scam.

Unfortunately many scammers create Bitcoin investment Ponzi schemes and they sell it as Bitcoin. These schemes offer daily interest and referral bonuses and Ponzi type networks. People should note that Bitcoin come with no guarantees of specific interest and referral bonuses, because you trade in a currency/commodity.

Stay away from these investment sites, where you in Bitcoin, but you never own these bitcoins. ^grrrrrr^

a good life story, and can teach us a lesson.
it seems like such people will be much more in 2018. so I think we should know more about BTC. if you want to invest we should trust people who have been successful in bitcoin and that we know.
bitcoin is real, not scam.
