I think altcoin should never be used for investment as it can be a scam any time. We have seen many altcoins turn into scams in the past, especially good projects like Luna FTX etc died.

Not all alt coins are the same, have a look at LTC.
exchanges are often hacked anyway and some are even set up to fraud once the price goes down.

It's like the era of BTC dominance and dictation of other altcoins performance is gradually winding down.
Yes, I can understand from what angle you're saying this as that dominance is now around 51% as against 75% to 80% we used to have it  less than a seven years ago. However, at 51% Bitcoin is still dusting the rest of the pack of cryptos with ETH coming a distant second with  around 17% market dominance according to CMC data.

For those who want to invest in altcoins, make your pick from altcoins with use cases. Don't pick randomly based on price. Also, remember that altcoins often pump after Bitcoin is done pumping as investors will cash out of Bitcoin and move their profit to alts. In my speculation, I guess later part of 2025 is going to be another altcoin memorable period. That's the period I want to see alts pump real hard.

Bitcoin is the most famous cryptocurrency and also the first decentralized cryptocurrency in the world, and has strong brand recognition among investors and the general public because they will know Bitcoin first before getting to know altcoins.
Bitcoin and altcoins are highly volatile currencies, but altcoins are often more volatile than Bitcoin, which can pose significant risks for investors. However altcoins will be most profitable for those who have skill and intelligence in terms of pum and dum and are also easy to manipulate, and just by buying and selling at the right time they will make huge profits. If you are late you will experience losses, and this often happens to altcoins, in fact many altcoins end up being fraudulent, especially new altcoins.
And in my opinion, a very safe and low risk option is Bitcoin and this is mainly for long term investment. And Bitcoin has a good track record when it comes to long-term investments that will give you satisfying profits if it always accumulates every time Bitcoin goes down.
Yes, Bitcoin, the first cryptocurrency, is the most well-known brand; its the first name that people hear when they hear digital currency. How good is it as a long-term investment? Pretty amazing. But lets not forget how appealing altcoins are. Yes, they're high risk and volatile, but isnt that where smart players make their money? The trick, though, is that "pump and dump" is like ballet: one wrong move and you're falling. Bitcoin or Altcoins? Like a siren's call for those who are quick and smart, but dangerous for those who arent.

On the other hand, Bitcoin is a rock of security in this rough sea. Its past behaviour? An example of strength and slow growth. It' the turtle in a race with hares: steady, dependable, and in the end, the winner. Because of this, Bitcoin is still the safest option for people looking to invest in the volatile world of crypto. It is a sign of long-term value in a world where wealth come and go quickly.

I think altcoin should never be used for investment as it can be a scam any time. We have seen many altcoins turn into scams in the past, especially good projects like Luna FTX etc died. If we use and invest Bitcoin, it will be the best and safest coin for us and the most to earn money.  I will never invest in altcoins because I believe they can be scammed at any time except for some coins. But for BNB and ETH good investment it is likely to be a scam and their future will be good so if you invest here you will have no fear of loss. And the best thing is Bitcoin where you have security of your money by investing, and it is possible to earn a good amount of money from it in the future, so BTC is the suitable investment coin.

Be careful if you want to use altcoins for investment or trading. Usually, altcoins that are new to the market will get the pump. After that, the price will experience a correction and some altcoins will even drop drastically from their presale prices. If you want to get into altcoins, you can wait until the price drops drastically. But you need to find more information about why you chose that coin.

Exactly, Private investors including the team itself will surely dump their bag one the token price hit the ceiling for growth. I rarely invest on new coin that shows volatility since it’s very hard to recover your loss once you left behind after the hype is over. That’s why sticking to basic which is investing majorly on Bitcoin is the best choice since it always recovers no matter how downfall it goes unlike other shitcoins that never recover even for many years of waiting.

I still have several altcoins that couldn't find their place during the last altcoin season. I don't know if those coins can find their place in the next altcoin season. Of course, the coins are still waiting until now. I also bought some new coins to experiment with and to see how well they perform in the short and medium term. If the new coins can go up, I'll sell them, maybe all of them Grin

But I still hold my Bitcoin because Bitcoin is my main investment and for the long term. Invest in altcoins only for the short and medium term and once you make a profit from the coins, get out immediately and before the price drops drastically.

If you love altcoins, you must read this article.
The two types of altcoins in an investor view.

What are two types of altcoins?
- Oscillator
- Degenerator

Most of altcoins belong to Degenerator type that means their prices will lose, decay with time till their coins are dead.

Very few altcoins belong to Oscillator type but very few of them can make new all time high with each Bitcoin market cycle.

The chart type is fearful enough because you will lose money with it and time.

The cryptocurrency landscape is gradually taking a new turn and am loving it already. It's like the era of BTC dominance and dictation of other altcoins performance is gradually winding down.

TAO, KAS, BGB, TIA among other numerous altcoins are among those that have recorded ATH recently even as BTC struggle to hold up the $36,500 resistance.

Among other altcoins that have been impressive are ORDI, SATS, VMPX, WOJAK and PEPE1.

Fortunately there is an ongoing event for new users on Bitget where there is  $10,000 prize pool in the latest Hotcoins season 5 edition.

As we look forward to the anticipated bullrun come 2024, what altcoins are you holding and why do you think they will bring more returns compared to others?

AltcoinS just created with trading and for grab bitcoin for new btc and crypto trader actually altcoin have no power as like as btc. altcoin is only a centralized coin which able to trade up and down with altcoin creator and some expert trader can able to trade and increase btc with altcoin trading.

So I think altcoin is just a option to trade and opportunity for trader to increase their BTC btc amount.

From what I can understand from this is that altcoin can't recover at all whenever the bear season for crypto arrives and that bitcoin's the only one that can recover. The part about most altcoins being only created to do a pump and dump scheme is both a curse and a blessing because as you've said you can make profits out of it if you know how to get into them at such an early stage that you can buy at their so-called Genesis and then wait a bit for them to go high but the problem with this is that not all altcoins are like these but then again this is what makes altcoin still in existence. I wouldn't say that they're equally profitable because you're more likely to lose money when you invest in altcoins hoping to hit the one that's going to pump and then dump.

Correct. Not all altcoins are able to return to the highest price/ath they have made, but there are also some that are able to create a new ath. Unfortunately, most traders or investors think that all altcoins will be able to rise again after experiencing a sharp decline during the bearish season, but what happened did not match expectations.
In contrast to Bitcoin which is very capable and optimistic in terms of price recovery until it recorded the latest ATH. In altcoins, if investors or traders do not buy altcoins at the base/bottom price then the profit generated is not much, and even that requires research, complex analysis and the selection of the altcoin itself. If it ends up being a scam, it will only waste time and money.

Altcoins are full of pumps and dumps. I think it's natural for Bitcoin to experience an increase followed by several altcoins. Sometimes Bitcoin rises 10%, altcoins can rise up to 100% or even more, yes, but again, when Bitcoin experiences a decline, altcoins also fall deeper, even hundreds of percent. As we know, altcoins are full of pump and dump schemes. For traders who are capable and accustomed to analyzing altcoin movements, they can certainly make big profits. In my opinion, Bitcoin and altcoins are equally profitable for those who are able to take advantage of their price movements.

Investing in cryptocurrencies bitcoin or altcoins are dominated by bitcoin as the main cryptocurrency and are a safer and more stable investment whereas altcoins offer higher potential returns but higher risk. Altcoins are likely to be scams it is not possible to give an exact guarantee of how high these coins will rise. Bitcoin is the king of crypto and altcoins rise in value depending on the value of bitcoin many cryptocurrencies rely on blockchains which are organizational mechanisms to protect the integrity of transactional information. Bitcoin will generally go up based on its supply and demand and then go up again when the price goes down.

When Bullish time comes, it seems that all altcoins are telling where BTC is going. So it looks like all altcoins are good for short-term investing, not for long-term. But if you look carefully, I think not all altcoins are good for long-term investing. They exist only for temporary hype. So I think not all token coins listed on well-known exchanges have a guarantee that the coin or token is good. Currently there are some coins that are still able to survive from the moment of starting trading because of their DEV and true community seriously developing. For example, ETH and DOGE.
Normally, keeping or holding altcoin for long is not a right choice even if the project is good and looks promising; take FTX and Luna for example.
All altcoins are supposed to be hold for short time and not long term so as to avoid losing your capital all. The only coin to hold for long is Bitcoin because it store value and it is the best investment against inflation.

Bitcoin is reached in another level, so don't make comparison Bitcoin vs Altcoin. BTC is the most phenomenal digital currency in the world wide, it's a big assets of our future life as like gold. Altcoins can be dead, no bright future as like BTC so It is high risky investment. Even i think there are no existence of altcoins without BTC.

I don't know, probably the most of altcoin related projects pursue a single and common  aim  of taken away money bitcoins from bitcoiners.

For a years I'm looking for a  decent project that together with bitcoin I have would  give a good run to my money, but didn't find it, so far. Some of them have a good technicalities,  but their  exorbitant total supply halts my intent to add their coins  to my stash, the other ones have the reasonable  total mass but are too poor in technologies.

LOL, supply is not the only factor that determines the quality of a project. Furthermore, today's altcoin projects have a mechanism to burn tokens if they want to reduce supply. Look at ETH, it has an infinite supply but you can see how its value has also increased because it provides several useful functions in the market.

The difference between bitcoin and altcoins is that they do not provide useful and outstanding features like bitcoin such as decentralization, privacy and ensuring our safety. Bitcoin was created with the intention of creating a decentralized monetary system that brings freedom, and gives us full control over our assets without dependence on the government. Meanwhile, altcoins are created for the purpose of hype in search of profit. Meanwhile, altcoins are created with the purpose of hype to generate profits so there are too many scams in them. So altcoins cannot be compared to bitcoin.

This is altcoin season as Bitcoin price is trying to go up and as we are expecting bull run due to anticipation of Bitcoin halving in the year 2024.
I think any altcoin that is been listed in a good exchange like Bitget, Mexc, Binance and KuCoin worth investing in because the Bitcoin price movement will influence the general market and since they have small trading volumes, they can go a very high price to give good profits.

I can tell you with all assurety that altcoin are mostly for smart people who knows when to utilize their opportunities in their altcoin investment journey. Most people who chooses altcoin to hold do not actually knows how to go about them because some of the altcoin never maintained market stability to witnessed the bear market and if any witnessed and never failed then we can say such altcoin is worth investing, though short time investment is always better for altcoin since they are easily manipulated. That's why you need to choose wisely better still focused on bitcoin since altcoin are just for those who want quick profits most at times they lose because of not being smart to be able sell out when the market is positive side.
