Altcoin is defined as any cryptocurrency other than bitcoin.Example of altcoins are Litecoin, binance coin, dogecoin, ethereum etc.Altcoin cannot be compared to bitcoin because bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency in the world and the first altcoin was Litecoin forked from Bitcoin in 2011.We can get more detailed information from this link below

As we look forward to the anticipated bullrun come 2024, what altcoins are you holding and why do you think they will bring more returns compared to others?
What I know is that bitcoin is the mother of all coins, all altcoins are benchmarked against the price of bitcoin, if the price of bitcoin goes up almost all altcoins go up. From here we can judge that Bitcoin is an asset of the future, so I think you need to think again if you want to invest in altcoins.

There are indeed altcoins that have a future and will last a long time, eth, maybe you can add this altcoin to your basket besides bitcoin for long term investment, apart from eth, most of its future is unclear. So if you ask what coins you should own in 2024, there are only two choices, bitcoin and ethereum.
and you will be absolutely right. Alts can only bring profit over short distances since they are very dependent on news and events over time, interest in them disappears, take any meme token, they are not at their peak for long since the hype quickly passes, and Bitcoin continues its separate development despite a lot and in the long term it always brings more profit.
As for alts, I always have Ethereum in my portfolio since it has proven itself well in the market over the years.

The cryptocurrency landscape is gradually taking a new turn and am loving it already. It's like the era of BTC dominance and dictation of other altcoins performance is gradually winding down.

TAO, KAS, BGB, TIA among other numerous altcoins are among those that have recorded ATH recently even as BTC struggle to hold up the $36,500 resistance.

Among other altcoins that have been impressive are ORDI, SATS, VMPX, WOJAK and PEPE1.

Fortunately there is an ongoing event for new users on Bitget where there is  $10,000 prize pool in the latest Hotcoins season 5 edition.

Know that Bitcoin or altcoin are the same; they can be tools for you to have income in the future, actually. But when it comes to the question of sure-ball profit in the long term, the chances of you getting Bitcoin are significantly higher compared to altcoins.

Because of altcoins, the chances are higher that you won't get a profit because the risk here is also too high, especially if you choose the wrong altcoins to hold for the long term. But if you are sure about the altcoins that you will hold for the long term, you can earn more here compared to Bitcoin, and that rarely happens.

There is no doubt that Bitcoin has been faithfully in the market for a long time. And Bitcoin is the king of all coins, because the demand for Bitcoin is huge in the current market and its number of investors is numerous. Altcoins are numerous in the market and out of these numerous coins I have seen thousands of Altcoins disappear. And among them I will mention the names of two coins such as FTX, Luna these two Altcoin coins were in great demand in the market. But thousands of people have been robbed of their wealth and destroyed from the market. But Bitcoin has remained in the market faithfully since its inception till today, which is why Bitcoin is very trusted among investors.

When people talk about BTC dominance they are usually referring to it's market cap relative to altcoins and in that regard Bitcoin is doing fine. I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that it was winding down when it has in fact been increasing for the past year.

Altcoins have also performed well but that is a side effect of Bitcoin's rally. Bitcoin's momentum has been positive for altcoins. Altcoins won't disappear anytime soon because their adoption is also increasing but they won't be displacing Bitcoin either.

OP you have listed many altcoin here, but the fact is many people are not interested in altcoin, they see them as investments that they can try when just like that, before you consider an investment as a good one, you must look at it's transparency and security, all these coin you mention which of them is better than Bitcoin it terms of security, which of them can withstand Bitcoin when it come to global awareness, how many people are ready to even invest in them, you see, bitcoin remains the best among all, I didn't say that you shouldn't invest, if you want to invest is your choice, in terms of reliability Bitcoin Bitcoin is the best, and also it worth knowing that the price of bitcoin controls all this coin price.

The second coin I am holding is the latest coin that came to the forum which is Eloncoin which has no value in the market for now but we just pray that it will be listed in most of the Centralized Exchanges so that the price  will come up and for cryptocurrency to make or have ground in the ecosystem, it will need enough users to invest in it and not passive investors. I have not really invested on the ones op listed. I have not even tested how the coins are. Because my major investment is on Bitcoin and was not interested to invest in any other coins. But I am thinking to invest on Ethereum next week.
First of all the coin that you mentioned is not yet in the market and once it is in the market it will be known how safe it is to invest. Maybe few investors will invest in the coin you mentioned but many investors have already invested in Bitcoin and continue to invest. Bitcoin is not usually compared to other coins because Bitcoin will give you as many guarantees as other coins but never as much. Investing in all other coins we always have to be in fear whether that coin is doing well in the market but investing in Bitcoin does not have this tension. Investors buy bitcoins and keep those bitcoins in wallets for a long time and wait for a good return. Investing in all the other coins in the market but investors can't be so confident is what separates Bitcoin from all the other coins.

I don't think there's any winding down with regards to the era of BTC dominance because the performance of altcoins still have great dependency on bit coin, they only at some point exhibit too much noise in-between the trends that makes them appear like they are doing better but when analysed critically you will discover that in-between it was just these altcoins trying to rally up to follow the trend been created by BTC.

The bull run been anticipated by almost everyone is Bitcoin dependent, it's from the cycle of Bitcoin we get the bull run so if Bitcoin is taken out, no altcoins can cause a notable bull run across the cryptocurrency market so Bitcoin continues with its dominance.

It's funny that people believe the gap in the dominance of Bitcoin on altcoins is "winding down". I guess they get deceived by the social media hype and all whatnot. When you look at the numbers you'll find out that Bitcoin is giving altcoins more gap by the day.
Very few altcoins have managed to remain in the conversation for a very long time, a lot of the rest just get launched and never really amount to anything. Their market cap doesn't increase.

I saw some pro altcoin people on X talking about why you shouldn't buy Bitcoin and buy their coin instead. I just laughed and felt sorry for people who will fall for those scams.
The bull run is very well anticipated and it's all dependent on Bitcoin. If Bitcoin isn't bullish no other coin would be bullish.

Rather than just buying certain altcoins and holding, I’m rebalancing my portfolio to get the most out of those altcoins that are currently fluctuating and then reinvesting the profits as well. This is giving me a higher return rate than even bitcoin.

I'm not so sure about those altcoins brought up by OP. For me, I also like to stick with Bitcoin since I'm confident in it.  But hey, if you wanna give some altcoins a shot, just be careful and  altcoins can really burn you sometimes.  They don't have the best track record of success.

op I don't trust any of the coins you mentioned in alt coin. Because of this, the most popular coins were Dougie Coin and Mim Coin.
I didn't find the altcoin of your choice except MIM (Magic Internet Money). If the coin you mean still has low volume in daily trading activities and the altcoin of your choice has no potential then avoid those two coins unless you are ready for high risks.

I always like to trade Bitcoin and I have full confidence in Bitcoin. But if you want to invest in alt coin, do it with your caution. Because alt coin sometimes causes us a lot of problems. alt coin does not have much success.
You must be optimistic about the choice of bitcoin and not allocate investment funds to the altcoin choices above because you ignore the analysis of top coins and choose coins that are not recommended for investment and trading. Prioritize investing in bitcoin as a safe investment compared to altcoins, bitcoin has achieved an increase of 100%+ from the lowest price but altcoins cannot maintain a price increase of up to 100% unless the altcoin trend is increasing and there is no guarantee that you will get a profit if you hold altcoins in the long term.

You can not compare Bitcoin with Altcoins.
Yes, some altcoins are pumping, but overall, the alt market is down significantly from the last ATH. Altcoin investment is profitable only for the short term because once an altcoin reaches its ATH, there are chances that it will not touch that price again and might wiped out of the market in a few months. I have seen many Altcoins that were over $250/ coin, and now they are under $10/ coin. Altcoin investment is riskier, and only a few Luckey investors earn good profits.
Stay with Bitcoin if you want to play safe.
We can't compare Altcoins with Bitcoin. I always think Bitcoin is more popular than Altcoins which is why I like Bitcoin more. Altcoins have some risk which is why I don't like Altcoins very much.  I think Bitcoin is the safest. Investing in Bitcoin is a risk free investment and there is very little chance of losing money. Investing in Altcoins has a high risk of half loss and some times there is a chance of a lot of profit.

Yeah alt coin are good but you can't compare it with btc. Bcus Btc is like the mother of alt coin
So no matter what btc coin still remains tha best...
Actually in this case it is a ridiculous situation if we still have to continue to compare bitcoin with altcoins because in the end the comparison can be made if what we are comparing is equivalent. As for bitcoin and altcoin, there is no equality in it so why continue to be compared because in the end we all know which one is the best.
Comparisons like this will only make altcoins worse but I also don't really care about it because I'm not in it for now even though at the beginning I was in crypto I was in altcoins but my focus now will only remain on bitcoin.
But indeed seeing from the OP who is indeed new (possibly because the account is a beginner) I still think this is very reasonable to be asked by them but the answer must also be clear that bitcoin is still bitcoin and it cannot be compared to altcoins.
Exactly, stop comparing bitcoin to altcoins. This comparison should stop. We all know that Bitcoin will be the top coin ever. Altcoins is just the second option, if you want to start investing in bitcoin then go for it, but if you feel that Altcoin will give you a good profit then for Alts. No need to compare just invest and earn.

Yeah, if he really a beginner then we accept it, but if he's here for too long then stop.
Actually in this case I have no problem whatsoever with those who are in altcoins because after all they have their own judgments and arguments which are certainly derived from the research they do. We also have to respect that, it's just that in the perspective of comparison it will not be possible because because as I said earlier the comparison must be based on equality and bitcoin and altcoin will clearly not be equalised. It doesn't mean that we shouldn't be in altcoins because it depends on our individual choices because we have a different focus for each person here and all arguments will also be considered to be true if in the end we like it but on the other hand we also have to realise that it's not too good to compare bitcoin with altcoins because in the end this can never be compared considering bitcoin will definitely remain above altcoins no matter what.
Your points are valid enough and the best part is that you are neutral as well. As much as I love that we should limit the argument of Bitcoin vs Altcoins, there will always be valid points that would favour Bitcoin and Altcoins, which is why I believe the tension is being doused these days as people are now embracing the facts therein. When it comes to making more money, altcoins have it and I do not think any right-thinking person would argue otherwise. In the recent minimal bull run, there are altcoins that moved over x7, and some even moved more than x10, so this argument is clear unless the person doesn't want to face the reality due to extremism.

And no one cares about that, what we care about is the truth and the fact, and the right guidance that would continue help all of us in making the best investment plans. As an investor, I am neutral with all assets, I just make my analysis and see the ones that are best for me at any point in time. For investment, I do not have more than 30% as Bitcoin in all my total cryptocurrency holdings, but for crypto trading, I trade 100% Bitcoin. Can you see? I balance it, this is what people should do instead of being sentimental. Bitcoin is the best when it comes to factors like liquidity and others and there are no other coins that would be able to outshine it in this area. For Bitcoin being more liquid than them helps traders avoid manipulation often caused by the thin market liquidity as it's happening with altcoins.

Given the crypto market's complexity, isnt it easy to rank Bitcoin above altcoins? Bitcoin's scalability, transaction speed, and energy usage are issues, even if it led the crypto revolution. Altcoins innovate in these sectors, giving diverse answers and developments. Shouldnt these ideas benefit the crypto ecosystem and maybe influence Bitcoin's evolution?

Additionally, "equality" looks out of context. Every cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, has its own uses. Arent we supposed to judge them individually rather than uniformly? This view doesnt devalue Bitcoin; it recognizes cryptocurrency's versatility.

Have you in a day wondered what will happen to altcoin if bitcoin later falls to $30k from its today's price of $37k? I believe you will quite believe with me that there will be a complete shake-off of all the altcoin prices in the cryptosphere.  Only that alone will show you that all altcoin rely on bitcoin to either thrive or increase in value.

So have you also thought about the case where bitcoin increases to $50k or $60k, how many percent will altcoin increase? Like when bitcoin dropped to 15k$ and many altcoins lost a lot of value but when bitcoin rose to 37k$, many altcoins increased x3, x5 times. The harder altcoins fall, the stronger they will recover and bring bigger profits than bitcoin, that's what's happening, you and some bitcoin maximalists should accept this reality. The market hasn't even entered bull season yet but many altcoins are generating huge profits.

Seriously, is like you're comparing superman to batman.
At first most time Btc controls the movement of most altcoins
Because most time when Btc is on bullish momentum.
Most altcoins will be too . And sometimes is not advisable
Hold most altcoins, because. Mosttimes when they dip.
It may take longer time for them to bounce back.
That Why the best and remains the best coin to hold,
Is BITCOIN.

Yes, even real estate or gold will have risks and the issue is whether the risks are small or large, but the funny thing is that many people exaggerate bitcoin to the point that there is no risk. What about altcoins, what do you think about them? As I said, I do not deny that it is not safer than bitcoin but saying that they are useless, is that true when they still bring profits to many other investors? The bull season is approaching and many altcoins will bring huge profits, unfortunately many conservative investors are rejecting that opportunity.
I do not deny that altcoins can bring good profits, but I argue that it is not so easy to find those altcoins that will bring profits greater than Bitcoin.

It will all come down to the fact that some alts will give better profits than Bitcoin, some worse, and in the end you will simply achieve the same profit as when investing in Bitcoin, and maybe less, so I don’t know if it makes sense to buy altcoins if I can just buy Bitcoin and be calm without worrying about anything.

Finding potential altcoins depends on each person's abilities, knowledge and skills. If it were easy to find then I'm pretty sure people would invest in them and ignore bitcoin. Big rewards should only be given to deserving people, not equally distributed to everyone, including lazy people. Investing in altcoins during bear season is extremely difficult, but it's not so difficult during bull season.
In terms of profits, bitcoin is only safe but cannot bring better profits than altcoins. We don't need to compare bitcoin with new altcoins, you just need to compare the profits of BTC and ETH in the next bull season, and you will see who brings bigger profits.
