I agree. Bitcoin dumps and so Eth too. Eth pumps and bitcoin will do too, we just need to be patient for it. Bitcoin is the mos expensive digital currency so I don't think that bitcoin will be replaced as the most expensive in the future. Ethereum is expected to pump this year and so do bitcoin.

Anything can happen in the next 5 year. We can all see how both bitcoin and ethereum is growing and we cannot still predict who will reign in the future. Bitcoin has been dominating for a long time but as we all can see now, the value of it is falling down a lot and maybe it will be replaced by a powerful cryptocurrency sooner or later. We should still keep our faith on bitcoin amidst all the possibility that may occur in the future.

I think ethereum has a chance over bitcoin since the value of bitcoin right now is going down a lot. Ethereum's value has been doing good and it is expected to keep on rising just like with bitcoin. Although bitcoin has the advantage since it was the very first cryptocurrency, there's still a chance that it will be dethroned by a cryptocurrency like ethereum in the future.

Bitcoin is coasting on name recognition and first mover advantage. At this point, the only thing it really has going for it is past familiarity and the "promise" of what lightning network will do. LN looks awfully convoluted and my personal expectation is it will be not be very widely understood and therefore not widely embraced. Ethereum had much more utility, being the ecosystem of smart contracts. I expect at some point before 5 years, some crypto will overtake Bitcoin's preeminence, but I'm agnostic about which one it will be.

in some way your right,since bitcoin is the most popular and high valued coin thats why hes recognized more than any coin,though the reality is theres a lot of coin better than bitcoin unless the lightning network have done and introduced in this forum,bitcoin will overcome by ethereum in so many aspect that users now are startinh to realize

ethereum is seen moving forward with their smart contracts, this could be an important reference to their volume over the next 5 years, cost issues, bitcoin and ethereum will remain the same, the fees will continue to increase as price increases, this will be a big problem if not resolved start now. The level of transaction congestion is also a concern because it is very disturbing public convenience for the needs of fast transactions.

Last time I invested in Ethereum, I never made much profit from it, and my friend who also invested in it never made a penny from it, rather he lost some of his money, about 12%. I see bitcoin developing in a form of digital gold. Investors put their money in it, but it will not be used as payment anymore.
ETH in five years, I can imagine that it will be the new form of payment when you want to pay with a crypto currency in online shops.
What I can not tell is which of those two coins will increase more in price.
Could be bitcoin because of its limitation, could be ETH because of its practical use.

It is long term for choosing bitcoin or ethereum. You shouldn't invest with only bitcoin or ethereum. You should think both of them. 2018 may be good for ethereum or bitcoin. But you can not know year 2023. Maybe another coins will be good investment.

if bitcoin didnt fix the issues about block chain regarding traffic and high fees,i guess many investors and supporters of bitcoin may transfer to ethereum,with faster transaction and lower fee,together being the most used platform by the ico's well no doubt that ethereum will overcome bitcoin in that long years.60 months is such long process for both coins do their jobs and responsibilities.so in dependon what both coins reaction as years passed by

I agree to your statement, with the demand of the people who are really looking for the best coins for them then bitcoin will have a low because it is not a wise choice or option to just buy bitcoin and use it because there are two things for me that i consider and that is the price of bitcoin which is expensive and also the amount of fee that i need to pay based on both bitcoin and also usd so i think that it is not practical and wise to use it unless it will be change for better.

In 5 years BTC will still be king, and Ethereum could find some tough competition along the way, though ETH does have the biggest market cap and the most supporters after bitcoin, so there's no doubt it will be profitable.

Partially agree with you. The growth of the Bitcoin price and investment attractiveness are hampered by high commissions and transaction speed. But the smart contracts give ETH a huge advantage. Will Bitcoin have smart contracts? No one knows.
It is also worth comparing the rise in prices of these two coins and see that the Etherium has grown much more.
