Mtgox as always has the best prices  Cheesy
You should include bid and asks prices. Volume would be great as well.

Until we post this in "Project Development", we thought a thread may as well be created in this section.

If there are any exchanges or platforms you think we should be including please contact us also, localbitcoins should hopefully be added within a week or so.

to be honest, I think Mt Gox should be deleted. the value is worth nothing, for the time being.

This has been suggested by a few people. We think the best option is to allow individual users of the API to opt out of including a certain exchange at their discretion, so this is on our to-do list!

Is the average price weighted to the volume traded?

For instance, if Mt. Gox sells BTC for 105 and they trade 40% of the sales, and Bitstamp sells BTC for 90 with 60% of sales, is the "average" closer to 90 then 105?

Never mind, I should have read the OP more...

Yup, well done. Bitcoinaverage has been my go-to site for a week now.

Would be even better if it included a chart though..

Hi, thanks for the comment. There are lots of small things we want to do/achieve first, things like charts are definitely something we will be looking at in the future!

BitcoinAverage is the longest running Bitcoin Price Index. Publicly launched as an open source project in August 2013 with a goal of providing the community with an accurate bitcoin price. Nearly 3 years later we are the most widely used source of bitcoin price data, supplying some of the industry's leading apps and services.

BitcoinAverage's Bitcoin Global Price Index (GBX) is an average price using over 50 different exchanges weighted using trading volume, activity, liquidity and other factors.
