I just got an email from Hilarious Andco via Superbru about an invitation to join BitcoinTalk's Champion'sL Pool. I don't know if you guys get it too because there are still no other participants that I saw there. Maybe it's just for fun because there are no details of fees and prizes there, I just joined and of course missed last night's match and hopefully it will still be fun. Grin

I reactivated last year's pool as there were only 12 people in it so you should have got an email or invite on Superbru, but if not here's the link:

https://www.superbru.com/championsleague/pool.php?p=12399440

or by downloading the Superbru app and searching for the pool with code:

I got the email earlier today and I joined it already.

Well, I bet on YBs in their last two legs against United and lost. Then this one I stayed away from, as I thought, well, Ronaldo, right? But anyone else think Ronaldo there actually ruined United's chances tonight? They needed to be faster and more proactive after Wan-Bissaka's dismissal.

That's a big fat zero points for me in my SuperBru for the first 2 games. Haha! Going to get off forums and focus on Barca, got loads of bets with them on it!

That makes two, I had zero point for the two games as well... Who would have imagined, after the early goal, I predicted it was going to be long night for Young Boys, not knowing it was meant to be one of their best one. They took the one man advantage to it's fullest and without mincing words they deserved every bit of the victory.

I'm getting better with the current fixture, hopefully it would stay the same.

I doubt many people backed the home win there. I did pretty well. 14 points so far, which is surprising. Two exact scores and I got all the other game results right apart from the Man United one. I have no idea about half of the teams so it's just pure guesswork and luck.

I was able to grab a few correct score myself, and 11.5 points in total, I though Lille poor run of form would continue into champions league, Lille could even have had great chance to still the win at the very last minute after a penalty was awarded by the referee, but VAR cam to the rescue.

We've got some early kickoff yet again today,
inconsistent Dortmund vs Besiktas, I went with BVB but I pretty much won't be surprise if their shenanigans happens to get the better today too.

Yeah, didn't see that coming. 12/1 IIRC pre-match. Would have been 20/1 at least just before the red. The only surprise is they didn't get their second goal earlier. Gotta feel for Lingard...

hopefully, your bets on the game were not on Barca to win, since their play against Bayern was really poor

They were, unfortunately. I know Messi-less Barca is not the Barca I know but I thought Bayern were away, and 35/10 was incredible value for the home side. Alas.

Bayern proved to be favorite this season, they had one bad match last season, home with PSG, and that was enough to be kicked-out, and they are most constant team in last few seasons in all competitions, Lewa is obviously as wine, as older, that better

had solid performance in the pool, taking into account that results were far from expected, especially Young Boys win and Sevilla draw, Salzburg actually had three penalties in first half, congrats to referee, he decided to have four penalties in one half (1x Sevilla, 3x Salzburg), cannot remember seeing that before

In summary. UCL pool still good to go and yes I am interested and hope we get enough players!

+1
do not forget to put your picks into Superbru, since it will counted from day1, no matter when the pool starts

will be an interesting season, could PSG dream team win this through (doubt) or others will get it, namely Bavarian giant or United with Ronaldo, as that we are looking into 2000's season, when Bayern and Manchester ruled the game

I got the PM too... And I've made my intentions of joining known in the sign up thread.

First fixtures are on already, It really didn't take long for Ronaldo to make his mark, yet again!

Salzburg missed a penalty just after 12 minute, but they've got another one again, perhaps they can make it right this time.

So I count 6 including myself, I had a good run even though didn't win last one but I can't play all the leagues and not play this one!

Should be a great CL season, starting with cracking game between Barca and Bayern tonight. Don't know why but those evening CL matches have a special appeal to me, there is just something special when you see that CL logo Smiley

Weird but also for me, even though it means I have either to stay up very very late, or wake up very very early. And hope I'm not working night shift (which I am not this week).

It's special to watch these games when everyone here is asleep. As long as there is not a big English game other places or Real, for some reason Barca is a second Spanish favorite here:)

I already thought that we won't have pool for Champions league this season. I received message from hilarious and offcourse I will join pool. I can't miss it Smiley. Maybe it's not the best time to start everything on last day. But better later than never. From responses here, seems that all usual suspects will be there Smiley.

Also got the PM.

I am of course interested, just entered the picks for first round. Will be tough to organize paid pool on such short notice but hopefully we will manage somehow.

I did not get any messages and I played the previous 2 CL prediction pools. I actually got a prize in the last one, maybe that's why I wasn't invited Grin

I'm interested as well so let me know if we're playing, I inserted my predictions into Superbru just in case. CL is the biggest competition, I thought we would already have a pool by now.

Saw the PM from hilarious. Cheers, captain. Am on mobile now and on extremely cramped ride so just thought to bump this and get people to notice.

I've sent Harkorede the prize money with a little extra, sorry Harko I did a cheeky 1 sat/byte tx but it's RBF so I could have speed it up if it was urgent -- ended up confirming within the next couple of blocks haha. I'm such a skimp, I know, but I do love testing the limits of BTC network, been trying to "break" my 72 hour record for confirmation this year. "Disappointed" it happened so quick, not bad less than 8 cents fee huh?

I'll put up the same amount (0.005 btc) as a starting sponsorship bid for next pool =D That'll be worth at least double next year, right guys?Wink

For me the biggest problem is De Bruyne. He is a machine, one of the best players in the world, he is so good that even playing him as false 9 worked for City most of the season. But I simply do not understand it, he's a 50% better player when he's facing the goal and I feel City is a lot better when he's playing in his natural position.

Playing De Bruyne in midfield and a natural forward in attack would make City a more dangerous team. But also, after what he's done, it's really hard to doubt or criticize Guardiola. Perhaps he sees something we do not.
Agree with this completely, De Bruyne is such a good player that he can probably play almost any position on the pitch. But there is nobody else in City squad or the world that has pass quality like him.

Life, Love and Laughter...
^  Nope...  It def wasn’t and yes I do mind in how City lost.  For what they have they weren’t even much of a threat against Chelsea.  Pep needs to adapt and get a big guy to spearhead the attack or at least get a big guy as a sub just in case he needs it.

It was funny..  Me and a couple of friends, all City fans, were quiet at the last couple minutes of the match then we broke out laughing our asses off.  Lolol.  We thought City was a sure win.  Cheesy

It was crazy, I guess it could have been entirely different game if Fernandinho started the game, the first problem for City was that they couldn't dictate the game although they had more possession but the game was completely different from what they wanted it to be.

Nevertheless you've just got to respect Tuchel, and the work he's done so far at Chelsea, they'll be the team to beat next season imo!

^  Yup totally.  And for such an important match like this, def Aguero instead of Sterling.  Just look at that starting line up.  I mean yeah they’re all technically great on the pitch but they’re all soy boys except for Kyle Walker and maybe Ederson.  Lol.  They needed a little grit, hence the need for Fernandinho and Aguero.

City were very lacklustre and got what they deserved. Only one shot on target the entire game, but then again Chelsea only had two shots also.

About pool, big thanks to @buwaytress for sponsorship. I just hope that next seaon we will have bigger pool. More players - more fun to play.

CL pool never seems to be as big as the others but I think I started this one late as well. I'll start it with a bit more time to spare for the next one. buwatress is just going to send the sponsorship fee to harkorede so no need to send any fees in. Just keep it for the Euro pool.
