Don't think so. Champions league pedigree is the only thing on Real side. City is at home, no injuries apart from Aguero but City has enough fire power even if they miss more players, one goal up from the first leg.
The problem is that City always bottle it when the pressure is on. The furthest they’ve got is 1 semi final in 10 yrs !

True. That is why I conceded that Real has pedigree on their side. If there is a team that consider Champions League their home turf or their backyard it is Real. They have CL trophies in their blood.

All that being said, I believe City has enough on their side this time around and they will go to the end. They have to start acting like a big club at some point Smiley

Man City v Real Madrid - really tough to call this one, gotta assume pedigree will take Real through ?

Real had a winning streak but they were not playing good at the end of Primera. Their best player was arguably Ramos and he can't play against City due to red card.

If Real wins this one they are the champions 100 %  Cheesy

Just giving this thread a little bumpski to get us back in the CL zone  Smiley

2 matches next Friday -

Juventus v Lyon - can’t see Juve losing this, but if Lyon do lose , it will be their first season without European football since 96/97 - maybe an extra incentive ?

Man City v Real Madrid - really tough to call this one, gotta assume pedigree will take Real through ?

One thing, maybe important, the French Ligue 1 stopped in March and will (normally) restart at the end of August. PSG will have only two official games (the Coupe de France final and Coupe de la Ligue final). It might be a bit short when the other championships have restarted in June/July.

In France, by drawing Atalanta, a lot of people already see PSG in final, but PSG got used to being ridiculous at one time or another. So...

PSG have a terrible CL record, they usually choke every season. I don’t think they should underestimate Atalanta.
It does feel like it could be PSG’s year though, they need to finally show who they are in the CL.

What's annoying though is that they've seemingly arranged all the games to kick off at the same time. What's the point in that? There's four games kicking off at the same time on the 12th. Now we've gotta choose which game. They should have played them all on different days to maximise viewing.
Where did you find it. I see that all quarterfinals will be played at different days, on 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th.

No way they are all in the same time on same day. I am sure UEFA has remembered and scheduled them for maximum money of TV rights viewing pleasure.

Can't wait for the games to start. I will probably also bet something on Atalanta in first game against PSG. Odds are more than good and this game is 50-50 for me due to form and match fitness.

Slava Ukraini!
I agree with guys who are saying that single game gives advantage to underdogs. It's just 90 minutes of football. While in 2 leg series, teams with better and more deep squad have advantage.
And I agree about Atalnta, maybe I will even make bet for their win. It's enough to see how they are playing after restart - 6 wins in 6 games. While PSG didn't played for so long, it will be difficult for them to return in action. BTW, Lyon are same situation. Otherwise I wouldn't write them off against Juventus.
And single leg fixtures is bad for our pool - it means there will be less games, what makes too difficult to change our positions. Now it's impossible to reach @big_daddy

This semifinal drawing upfront really ruined the competition for me. It was always great when you could calculate and hope for an easier opponent if you get into the next round.

I do not know why they decided to draw the semifinal pairs sooner but it has to be one of the worst calls in the CL so far - at least for me. It really takes away some of the charm.
But this is need of time as they want to complete this all and they have no other option so they done this all which is also not bad at all as now its open case for all teams on the day which will play good this team can go through Atlanta form is very good and PSG is also not bad at all so we can expect some interesting end of this game.

I don't think playing one leg is much different. It might make the games more intense if anything as you know you've only got one shot. There's no real need to play two legs in a neutral venue really.

Atalanta? Hell yeah!  Smiley I would like to see them also passing through the next stages

I think they have very good draw to do so. First game they are playing against PSG. PSG is a tough team but I have a feeling they are not used to the situation when someone will dare to attack them. They play all the games in their League as heavy favorites and Atalanta style of football and pressure could pay off very well.

If Atalanta passes PSG they are playing against better from the Leipzig-At. Madrid fixture. Leipzig should suit them fine but I feel Madrid will know hoe to defend against them and capitalize on counter attack.
They got lucky and got into way easier part of the draw. They can't play against Real, City, Barca, Juve, Bayern, Chelsea, Napoli until the final. That part of the draw will be a bloodbath. Poor Lyon Smiley

Here follows the whole draw with all the teams till the final, taken from official page:

I’m not keen on the single leg format, it gives the more favoured team in each tie the advantage. I’d love to see an underdog like Atalanta make the final. It could be possible over a home & away format but not in a one off game imo.

I am thinking just the opposite. One game format is actually favoring underdogs. Anything can happen in one game, favorite gets a red card or has a slightly off day and underdog clinches it with one lucky strike. Favorites have much more time to hit their stride when they have return games as well.

My opinion, if it's on a neutral stadium, without fans, the single leg format is quite fair way to play and give an end to this tournament stopped by covid

Gotta agree with you Trofo. Also , the regular champions league teams may find it hard to adapt to the one game format ?

ANYONE OFF TO PORTUGAL ON HOLIDAY  Smiley

The matches will be played behind closed doors right? so watching the game on my TV or on some Portugal's TV is almost the same

The single-leg fixtures is something new for this stage of the tournament, but it will be very interesting to see how they will be prepared for this kind of final legs

Yep , no fans in the stadium but if you’re in Portugal - it’d be worth going to a pub/bar outside the stadium.
Anyway big_daddy , can anyone knock you off top spot ? I doubt it .
