I'm way out of the contest at this stage but I believe in Juve! My only hope is the sidebet at this point, hah. Really looking forward to the coming games though, the Spurs - City game will be one hell of a firecracker I reckon.

Juve are big contenders to win it, after all they have the GOAT Wink CR7 certainly knows his way up a CL winners podium doesn’t he.

I think Spurs play City in the PL in between those two CL games, should be really intense.

I still think Ronaldo is a better player than Messi.  I think Messi is overrated and people calling him the greatest of all time are fools.   Messi is one of those overhyped media products created to sell merchandise.

I think it’s difficult to say who is for definite the best ever. For a start there are obviously dozens of players who excel for years in different positions.

Messi & Ronaldo have dominated club football for over 10 years, just look at their medal hauls. They’ve both played in modern times though, how do you compare them to say Pele & Maradona?

Then like I said before what about players in other positions? Maldini is the pinnacle for a defender etc. What about midfielders, Zidane, Robaldinho? The Brazilian Ronaldo?

The argument for the GOAT could go on forever.

I'll pm LFC_BTC for an escrow address.

Update on the sidebet & a deserved bump for this thread Smiley

Just a reminder, we have another set of CL matches this week. Looking forward to see if Juve has what it takes to turn the table on Atletico tonight. I have a feeling this could end 2:0 for Juve and then we have a winner trough penalties Smiley City shouldn't have any problems tonight. They will probably even manage to rest few players for PL.

I got a Juventus 3-legged parlay with Championship in England, so yeah I think they can win, just not sure if they can win enough. I'm hoping you're wrong about City, as I put a 24/1 bet on Schalke. I mean, hey, they caused them a bit of some nervy moments last leg, so maybe City have to do this properly. And maybe we see them get into an ill-tempered match.

One can only hope...

^  Prolly just one per match imho (two at most).  So refs really have to make it count in only the most important of calls.

Totally with hilarious here. VAR, despite what I think about it, is here to stay, so fine, let's do our best to make sure it helps and doesn't get in the way. 5 minute pauses kill the game. Giving penalties or disallowing goals when no one was expecting (I mean come on, did anyone actually care if that ball was out by a fraction from halfway from goal? Do we cut off the arms of people when blocking a speculative shot that wasn't even on target? And the ball hit his ass first... I don't like PSG at all but VAR robbed them off the QF place, and VAR is supposed to deliver justice.

I still think the most practical is to allow teams to make VAR calls (2 or 3 per game) just like they do now for tennis. Up to them how they want to use it and create a way they can trigger the call so it's resolved in a minute. And referee the rest of the game as before.

Slava Ukraini!
I agree that some recent VAR reviews was contraversial and questionable, but what do offer? Remove VAR? It would make situation even worse with all these wrong give or not given penalties, offside goals and etc. Main problem of VAR that we still have human factor and referee makes final decision. And decision depends on how referee interpret rules. All these slow-mo replays from different angles gives different view than we see in live match.

^  VAR out.  IMHO.

Holy smokes, they did the impossible! I'm baffled, and even though they were more or less given all of the goals tonight they definitely deserve to go through, the quarters are going to be intense!

Yup.  Spurs in, Man United in, Real out.  Rofl.  Something's wrong with this reality...  I'd be laughing soooo hard if City's out (something's def wrong).  And LFC better not f*ck it up.

4 EPL clubs going thru would be nice.  Smiley

Yet another VAR controversy. Five minutes it took to make a decision and was it really the right one? I'm not so sure. The ball clearly hit his hand but there's not much you can do when it's pelted at you and you had your back to the ball. There's really no consistency to the handball rule. Sayings like ball to hand and unnatural positionn are always used but what exactly is an unnatural position? Having your hands behind your back is unnatural but that's what players do these days so they minimise the risk, but you need your arms for balance and it's always ball to hand unless you purposely handle it and in those cases then you should be sent off. If someone blasts the ball at you from pointblank there's not much you can do about it and as per the rules they shouldn't be given, but many times they are.

The VAR in the Ajax game yesterday was also useless as to whether the ball went out of play. From one angle it looked like it did and from the other it looked like it probably stayed in play by a millimetre. The linesman was meters away so they should have just taken his decision on it in the first place.

If it stays like this maybe I'll put some money on Man Utd to pass after 80th minute.
Hope you put that bet on bud! I was seeing odds of 6/1 on United to qualify at half time, so I can only assume the odds at the 80th minute were pretty nice.

Sure did. I took the odds of about 13/1 in 82nd minute. My bet just went trough few seconds before that nice trough pass for Mbape were he fumbled with the ball and then Bernat hit the post. I thought I lost the bet as soon as I made it  Grin

Only problem, didn't have the balls to put more than ~15 $ on it.

That is almost 200 dollars then if you pulled it off.

Mbappe slipped if I am not mistaken 5 times in the whole game, and also ball ran away a few times. He was totally off. Di Maria was okay and Balot was horrible in his role, but then he is the one who blasted the ball to get the penalty. United were very very lucky.

I am thinking United will have a good chance if they keep this result until 80th minute or so. PSG players must have that disaster against Barca (lost 6:1 after wining first leg 4:0) in the back of their mind and fear will creep in. Looking forward to see how this one will resolve. I must confess I really enjoy when games develop like this. My bet passed in first half and I couldn't care less which team will pass in the end. Hope for some late drama  Cool

@Trofo, Well, you already got 1 leg of your parlay done and dusted. I knew Lukaku would score, but two goals? I don't think Balot can survive 2nd half though. That terrible backpass on a counter, PSG will exploit that flank. Porto probably going to make it, De Rossi's penalty kept Roma in the game but I'm keeping my view on the Paris match.

My parlay's Roma/PSG. So yeah, it's definitely not going well, betting wise anyway.

I had Porto & ManU 1st half, what a stupid penalty to give away, hah.. United was the risky bet in that double btw, lol. Let's see what happens in the 2nd though, I too believe Porto will make it and unless united somehow fix their backline and play some of the best defense they've ever done this could get tricky.

Half an hour left until matches. Looking forward to PSG - MAN Utd one. I believe we will see some good football and nice goals in this one.

I wanted to play nice CL double today but I really don't know what to play in Porto-Roma game. .

Porto to win AND advance! Cheesy

I actually ended playing Porto to win and PSG over 2.5 goals but for low stake. After yesterday's results and terrible weekend I have no confidence in my predictions. Will have to wait a few days to recover a bit.
