It seems your lack of knowledge was an advantage after all,,, and my stupid team spurs forgot to open their eyes in the last 10 minutes to lose to Inter Milan, of all teams.

To be fair, it wasn't just the last 10 minutes. Passing it around in the back waiting for an opening clearly wasn't working at the start of the game, but for unknown reasons they just kept doing it, instead of switching up tactics. Subbing Kane off and Rose on to try to salvage 1 point was a strange decision, and turned out to be a terrible one when you conceded again immediately.

I really think you guys are going to struggle as the season goes on - you have no way of resting most of your key players because you didn't sign anyone.

I know we did play badly and it is getting worrying. Especially when some supporters try even to blame our jersey Sad

I think this season we might even have to watch another Totteringham celebration,,, most of us kept quiet when the transfer window close silently, I mean, we got so many good players, but no covering players,,, Kane is good and all that but we cannot keep relying on him, and it makes him feel pressured if he cannot score.

So,,, 2 nights, 2 major upsets for English teams.

City were so sloppy. They had zero leadership on the field and were just all over the place. They seem to really be missing De Bruyne, and so I reckon Pep should have brought on Sane and Aguero at half time to try to change that.

Genuinely lolled at Aulas's "A vanity project for Silva" quote though.
snip

But I would have loved to watch City go down. I could only follow stats and they had 15 shots, so I assumed it was just bad luck but match reports suggest they were playing shitty. Too bad the shit performance didn't start in EPL but let's hope they repeat the slip up again there. Why didn't he play Aguero?!

I watched City game and they had ball possession throughout the match but Lyon had better chances to score. They just didn't create enough good goal scoring opportunities and conceded the goals as a consequence of very big mistakes in their own half. Lyon simply took what was offered. Maybe the most fair result would have been 2:2 but it can't be said that Lyon didn't deserve this 3 points.

Aguero was injured (ankle problems) and Pep probably tried to give him opportunity to heal 100% for next PL game.

Regarding Sane. I wouldn't give him even those minutes he played. He simply needs to give more. Granted he is dangerous with ball in his feet but his movement without the ball is terrible. He just watches his teammates play and starts participating only when he receives the ball. Yesterday there was few situations when he had very slow response and because of that failed to pile more pressure on Lyon defense. IMHO his mind is not 100% in the game since he was left out from World Cup squad.

He subbed on Aguero around 60 minutes if I recall correctly, but should have done it sooner. They just had no presence on the field.

The Ronaldo red card was strange. I've watched the replay several times and it just isn't a red, no matter how you swing it. Dreadful that the Champions League doesn't have VAR yet.

Was watching the game in Switzerland, since my kid actually supports the enemy but I needed United to win anyway for a 3-legged parlay to work out. Young Boys could have easily scored first but for poorer finishing, and that was the lousiest penalty decision I have seen in a long time. Ball practically flies at your body, you move your hand away but no one can move that fast. Still, better to kill off Young Boys now then have them progress. No Ronaldo to meet United is also a big deal, silly red card. Juve still get 3 points with 10 men and 2 penalties, so Old Lady still knows how to win.

Slava Ukraini!
Shitty performance on first week, now I'm at the bottom. But I'm not surprised because I made some risky predictions like draw between Real and Roma and Valencia vs Juve. As I see, almost all players had logical predictions on these matches and got max points. And offcourse - City. No words to describe them today.

Of course it is a yes for me too for LFC_Bitcoin, I have not traded with him but I trust him and I think he is a very trustworthy member of our community. By the way Inter just started the road to victory (yeah in my dreams  Grin) of the Champions League.

Ok then let's wait for the rest to agree and ask LFC_Bitcoin to post the escrow wallet.  I'll pm them if they don't reply within a day or two.

And one good thing about sending the 10 bucks now for escrow is it could become 20 - 30 bucks by the end of the season.  Grin

This is when I found out I have no idea who some of the teams are Wink

Yeah, I know even less about the Champions League than I do about the Premier League, so expect some wildly inaccurate predictions coming out of my end.  Grin

Italians supposedly are easy to play for English teams, because they are defensive but Inter played so badly and yet Spurs could not take advantage! If they at least won maybe I have 1 or 1.5 points more for the leaderboard.

Still, I am not so upset with my performance so far,,, we shall see how tonight the games play. It is interesting to predict a draw or even upset win for Young Boys who I never knew existed until this Champions League. Mourinho, do not bore us.

Some stunning goals today. Dembele for Barca and Icardi for Inter were probably my two favourite. Messi's second and Firmino's winner were also nice. And maximum suspense with late goal winners in a couple of matches. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Also, pretty happy with second place. Seems my wild predictions weren't too wild after all.

Boom! Liverpool! Hurt me to see Salah off the mark today, and basically almost handing the draw to PSG (their first goal offside btw and we should have still had the 3rd goal from Salah). But every hero has his off day, and he still worried the Paris back line.

It was every bit the pulsating match was looking forward to, and injury time winner from Bobby the perfect announcement for Liverpool's campaign. Milner covering both sides of every blade of grass, Dijk even playing 1-2s near opponent's box. Sure PSG had good plays but got to say their forwards were practically anonymous, actually surprised at the absence of Neymar theatrics. Lovely, lovely stuff!

Was it my channel or were the away ultras so noisy I could hardly hear Anfield?

Well done to #1 so far, whoever that is.

I can act as an escrow if you guys need anybody to look after funds on this side bet. I’ll do it free of charge but obviously transaction fees will come out of the pot.

It's a 'yes' for me.  Let's wait for the rest to reply.
I have no problem with using LFC_Bitcoin as escrow.

This could actually be nice bonus to the bet. By using the escrow we pay now and hopefully with the next (soon to be) bull run the winner will get a much bigger reward Smiley

Kk, it's PSG for you.
Thank you

And no offense but I'd rather a higher rank, green trust member be the escrow.  I know it's not a lot of money, but still...

I did not mean to be offended. It was a sarcasm and only will make sense if you see my trust page  Grin

I have no issue with LFC_Bitcoin by the way besides the amount is not that much; at-least not 20BTC!  Tongue

mdayonliner, if you joined this pool, I'll add you (PSG) in the side bet.

Yes, PSG for me.

But I'd be happy if somebody acted as escrow in case you guys feel iffy not having one.

I see hilariousandco is getting ready to give me another red Grin

@chief: I joined the pool. Thanks

And no offense but I'd rather a higher rank, green trust member be the escrow.  I know it's not a lot of money, but still...

Anyway, here are the players of this pool's side bet.  Keep in mind, this is based on trust.  But I'd be happy if somebody acted as escrow in case you guys feel iffy not having one.

Couldn't care less. For amount of 10$ I can't imagine somebody would decide not to pay and get negative trust from 5 other participants. On the other hand if somebody would feel safer with escrow that is fine as well.

I would only appreciate that you make one final post with all the participants names/teams and agreed bet amount. I believe I saw somewhere 10$ but I am not 100% sure. Maybe than we can nicely ask hilariousandco to put a quote of it in the first post for easier tracking. After all we have already hijacked the tread a bit.

Yup and it's prolly gonna be nothing by the time the CL is over.  BTC could be over 10k USD by then.  And again it's 10 bucks to join.

Anyway here are the players of the side bet and their clubs.

I joined the link in my PM and I signed up to the pool for Champions League. This is when I found out I have no idea who some of the teams are Wink Champions League last season many surprises yes? So I will check this group stages for 1st round to follow more or less the predictions,,, and after realizing how teams play I will change my tactics.

Good luck to all. Don't meet Spurs so early or you will regret Smiley

I put all my predictions for this first week of Champions. In this league I think the differences will be more than in Premier League because we play 16 games a week although we play these 16 games not every week. Overall will be super fun too. I put all my predictions except only three games as both teams to score. It happens almost always in the first week of Champions. Tons of money to be made tomorrow too.

Regarding Superbru site. Is there a way to see all my pools on one page/menu? When I am picking PL scores I can see PL Bitcoin Pool and some other PL pools I am participating but not the CL one, and vice versa. I can only switch between them via fixtures page, which seems a little bit counter intuitive.
