During this round I got only one exact score so far , Young Boys vs Valencia and I am hoping for 5-0 exact score on the Liverpool game tonight together with a 3-1 win for Paris or a 1-1 draw for Dortmund. Not that many good results for this round, but here I see is closer than the EPL pool. Probably because we are less people.

This thread needs more love, but strangely enough all 20 participants are active on the predictions here, unlike the EPL ones which seems to have seen quite a few drop off.
Honestly, I thought I knew EPL better than Europe leagues but I seem to be doing marginally better in CL even though as hilarious does, I'm sort of punching in the scores without much afterthought. With all due respect to the smaller teams, I can't say I know a single player or manager from the likes of Red Star Belgrade, whom I hope will be the Qarabag for Liverpool of last season!
Odds for over 4 goals aren't even 2x, despite the Reds not being able to score lately, but I still took a bet on it haha.
Thanks buddy, we saw 2 consecutive finals and with the same team after the last time we brought home Ol' Big Ears, so I know it's not impossible for the same thing to happen again (though Real, to my great pleasure, are looking desperately far from the team we met in May).

Don't forget to put your scores in for tonight's games. Doing mine now but there's quite a few players who still haven't. Anyone think Juve will turn over United? Thought it might have been a bit closer if Ronaldo wasn't paying but turns out he'll be back for tonight. Would have gone for 1-1 draw but I think Juve will probably take it but you never know with United. Jose's jobs still on the line but I don't think tonight's game would be the decider. Not really any other games I'm interested in tonight other than that one.
Thanks for the note, I saw this quite late but managed to put in scores with 10 minutes to spare, and now have finished ALL my picks for group stages,,, it is actually quite easy to forget because they come after international break.
Looking at the press news, nobody is saying anything bad about United losing, even though it was at home, Juventus + Ronaldo is almost impossible to beat in Europe. I watched the game and it could have easily been 1-1, or even 2-2, a lot of good passing but De Gea was very good in goal, while the defence in Juventus is better than the current United attack. Good to see Martial smiling again, but I do not think this performance will bring United past Last 16.
Good job to everyone we are picking results well so far in Champions League, almost everyone only got 1 perfect score. Of course nobody predicted Lyon 3-3, but funny to see many people predicted Juventus win with many goals;)

I thought I inherited the wooded spoon but unfortunately someone snitched it from me It was a good round for me comparing to the first round. 16/20 is quite satisfactory for me so far

Couple of nice scores for me coming through right now, would put me back in 1st place for the end of this week if things stay as they are. No doubt there will be a last minute goal or two to rob me of my points.
Edit: Yup. Messi just had to go and score in the 90th minute to drop me 1.5 points and from first to second.

Spurs vs Barcelona is the only game I'm interested in today. I think Barcelona might actually win as Spurs are missing a few players and Barca favour big pitches and Spurs are still playing at Wembley. Not sure whether to go for the draw or not though.
Well to say I wasn't that confident I'm off to a pretty good start so far with two correct scores from the two early games. The only trouble is six others also got the same results haha. Another seven players got one score right and the outcome. Real Madrid game is going to be an interesting one. I could even see a Moscow win with all the Real players out but not got the balls to back them. Russian crowds can be very lively and often give the home team a boost so sometimes you've got to take that into consideration. The weather is also another factor as it's freezing there and ten o clock at night when it kicks off I think.

Because Real was over confident yesterday , now they have compromised just a bit their group stage, probably they will end easily in second place if they start playing for real but yesterday they just showed nothing.

Some teams I'm just not familiar with at all. Then there's some injuries and suspensions you've got to take into consideration. Juventus are missing Ronaldo and apparently Real Madrid have a load of players out to injury. Man United are playing shit, but then Valencia aren't doing great either and are fourteenth in their league. Really not sure what to go with for a lot of these games and there's too much to research really so I guess I'll just have to go with gut instinct.
Yup... It's not really worth looking into each fixture just to make an educated guess. It's the group stages. Things will get pretty pretty interesting startng at the KO stages tho. Can't wait.

Funny thing, even though I have Real Madrid in the side bet I would like LFC to win the CL
LFC deserves at least one big trophy this year and if that means me loosing this side bet so be it.Group stages of CL are tough to predict. As someone mentioned above there is lot of teams and it is difficult to be aware of the situation in all of them. That goes double for the teams coming from smaller leagues which most of us don't watch regularly. On top of that most of the top teams will also field a few surprises on the pitch in the group stages. Especially if they are in the weak group and they have pretty much guaranteed passage to knock off stages.

I don’t think it’s a good idea for anybody to ‘share a team’.
Atletico are still available though, they’re usually a good team in European competitions.
Edit - I’ll make a note for myself who paid & who hasn’t. I think I have 6 of the 7 payments, I’m in London though & only using my phone. Back home tomorrow so will have access to a proper screen

You could ask the players who bet on Real or Barca for half of the action and give one of them 5 bucks if one agrees. I mean they could sell half in private if they want. But the thing is 10 bucks is so small that it wouldn't really matter anyway... Lol. Maybe if the bets were over 500 USD, then that's where we could find some players selling a piece of their action, even with one of the other players, as a hedge.
