Slava Ukraini!
Seems that Superbru completely forgot about Serie A. They still haven't awarded points for yesterday's Lazio - Atalant agame and none of today's games.

Anyway, Milan to win and BTTS good value, right? My last bet of the night.
Yeah, looks like a good value. But just before the game I decied to go just with BTTS. I simply lost too much today :/

Attacking players: Piccoli, Pessina, Miranchuck
Mid: Pezzela, Scalvini

Who the hell are those guys? Where are Zapata, Muriel, Pasalic, Malinovsky, Ilicic, Gosens, De roon, Hateboer? If they are all injured then it is on us that we did not anticipate problems for Atalanta.

Did not at all see the lineups for any teams in Serie A (or to be perfectly honest, not even if it's not my team anymore). Last Atalanta game I watched was actually the one Zapata got injured... before the winter break, can't remember which team it was now. And they exploded with goals on the restart, so it was pretty normal to assume they'd go on and on, but I suppose you're right. No established names on the list, could have expected no goals.

Used to put a lot more thought into my predictions on Superbru but now I leave that to betting so if the team isn't in my picks then I put random scores in here (as I was saying in my previous post) trying to back the favourite, then the form, then the home team, then the draw if I can't really decide. It seems to have worked well so far and as I said, miss it like we all did Atalanta TWICE in a row now, and it's okay. Who's going to risk choosing a draw or loss next? Don't think those 1st teamers are coming back for next game.

Anyway, Milan to win and BTTS good value, right? My last bet of the night.

I wonder if it's become Atalanta for Serie A...
It has become Atlanta already last season for me. No matter what I pick I always loose on their games. When we are at the topic of Atalanta did you see their first eleven yesterday?

I think I've said a few times too, when I put in score randomly without even checking out recent forms or position on the table it tends to work, but when you get really close in the ranking and you don't want to mess shit then it all starts to go sideways again.

Lazio and Atalanta playing out a goalless draw is something I really just still can't understand, I've got BTTS on at least to parlays and Over 2.5 on another, meeeeh! That'd be the 3 goalless draw in 5 games from Atalanta, what a shame from a team that were known for their goalscoring prowess.

I've definitely been doing a hell lot more "random" than planned for Serie A and La Liga and it's weirdly working out for me now after 20+ matchdays. But then it's not really random if you kind of know the teams even without really following the leagues right? For example, for me, random means backing the home team more regularly than the away team if they're not a big name team (to me). Or picking a draw when the last 5 games form for both teams is very similar (and so easy to use Superbru for that).

I think it all comes down to style. If your style suits prediction, better to stick to it. If not, better go random. My style of planning is awful for these types of pools, and I know it's only halfway through the season but I'm super happy with how it's all turning out so far just putting picks on favourites and instinctive scoring. This season I'm literally taking less than 1 minute to put my entire week's picks in, and in fact most of my picks for all 3 leagues are done a week ahead, if not more.

Last season, I was doing all kinds of calculations, especially for premier league, and then calculating in upsets, and putting in scores looking at odds for Correct Score market, who's injured, who's playing etc.

Now I'm just: fck it, a favourite doesn't stop becoming a favourite even if they change their style and team. And it pays off to still make the odd mistake anyway as even when Atalanta didn't win like last night, or the game before, no one else backed them to not win anyway.

You know there's always one or two teams after mid season you should never bet on. in EPL, that's become Chelsea. I wonder if it's become Atalanta for Serie A...

maybe, but still, after two matches we are splitting the top for this round with 4,5 points
if I have thought a bit more about matches, would probably miss both, so will stick to this provocation to lady luck strategy

will be good match tonight, if not for Valencia in the same, would give it a chance for watching, nevertheless Lazio is my favorite to win

There are multiple teams in Premier League with 3 or more postponed fixtures and it won't be a problem for those to get rescheduled. In Serie A, the league will get to court and sue you over one game and even deduct points...crazy stuff!

Not even that,,, supposedly Arsenal even got a game postponed and only had 1 Covid player, the rest were all injured or on international duty or something. That is why our Coach Conte is so mad that the game got postponed under Covid rules, and yet the real reason Arsenal postponed was they did not want to get tired.

I really feel for Salertinata Sad

Congrats casperBGD for yellow cap! I still am focusing on 4th spot for the prize spot,,, slowly slowly Wink

just checked Superbru for La Liga to learn that I got yellow cap in Calcio Smiley
it is a defining moment, just gave up from the pool, and entered results on a hit, without thinking or checking scores / table

will continue this way, maybe will bring me in upper half of the pool

New challenge is up guys and this time we have a true derby in Italy between Milan and Juve, should be a good game and I sort of expect them to take a point each. We shall see. I also expected goals in Inter - Atalanta game and we all know how that finished.

@morvillz7z, I'm surprised that Genoa gave him so little time. On the other hand, considering how many managers they have changed in recent years. I don't see big chances for Genoa to stay in league, unless something extraordinary will happen.
I loved Shevchenko as player and I liked what he has done with Ukraine national team, but I think that going to club like Genoa was mistake for him.

Taking over a team mid-season with very little talent to work with amid financial troubles was not the best decision, i agree. Sheva should have probably waited until the end of the season to look at the market and available jobs, though i'm sure he'll have another shot in Serie A rather soon. Anyway, the guy Genoa sacked him for (Bruno Labbadia) has apparently declined the position, therefore Genoa is now without a coach, their under-17 team coach led the team against Fiorentina the other day (6-0).

I don't understand how a mediocre coach like D'Aversa (relegated with Parma last season) ...... can get a job in Serie A again.....

^ this guy was also sacked recently Grin

Salernitana can't catch a break, chapter 20  Lol

Salernitana have been given an automatic 3-0 defeat to Udinese and docked one point after arguing they could not play due to a quarantine order over COVID cases.

The game was meant to go ahead on December 21 at the Dacia Arena, but the Salernitana squad was ordered to lock down after a flurry of positive COVID tests between players and staff.

It was all heading so well, 6 correct outcomes out of 6, and I dared to think that perhaps maybe, finally, the elusive 3 slam points for 10/10 was en route. And then the biggest shocker of them all, a scoreless draw on the home ground of Serie A's 3rd highest goalscorer vs the leagues highest scoring team. 4-4 rdbase, you're really on some kind of roll over there Wink

Abberations, huh guys?

Anybody watched Atalanta - Inter? I was playing futsal and then looked at the score and almost broke my phone. I needed only both to score in this game to salvage a bad day at the bookies. How is it possible for these two teams to play 0:0?

At least rdbase and I were the only ones getting point in the pool for predicting draw. Somehow that one point for my 2:2 prediction sounds too little especially when rdbase gets the same for 4:4 prediction. I would not give you more than 0.5 points man Tongue

Grin at rdbase getting the same points as you for a draw!!

I did not watch the game of course, I hardly can watch anything on Europe time these days because of work shifts and sleep but yes,,, any time two of the most high-scoring teams play and get 0 goals, you can be sure a lot of us lost money,,, and me worse,,, this weekend I made a lot of bets, and every single one lost, which is not usual for me as I usually only lose 8-9 out of 10  Grin

Woohoo, 1 point and the only one to back Verona. Too bad it was 4-2, impossible to have guessed even a close score really, but still, a point's a point. Now on to see if Venezia really found a way back to score...

Didn't even know this happened! Also one of my favourite players this guy, not to mention the memories he helped contribute to us when he was at Milan (he said it gave him literal nightmares for months after though).

I keep thinking why clubs shoot themselves in the foot like this. Unscramble your mentality, put yourself into debt. Only winner is the manager who gets compensation for such a little time investment.

Shevchenko is back in Italy, this time as a manager as he takes over Genoa

Welp, fast forward to today and Sheva is sacked after just over 2 months:

"Andriy Shevchenko axed at Genoa after just 11 games in charge"

Andriy Shevchenko has been sacked by Genoa after just 11 games in charge as manager, the relegation-battling Serie A club announced on Saturday.

The former Ukraine manager signed a deal until 2024 on Nov. 7, but an extra-time defeat against his former club AC Milan in the Coppa Italia on Thursday proved to be the final straw after a dismal run of form.

Even if they say his final chance was the midweek Cup game against Milan, that isn't totally true, they were going to sack him regardless of the outcome. 3 points and 3 goals scored in 9 league matches ain't gonna cut it. I predicted before the start of the season that Genoa would struggle after selling its two top forwards and goal scorers, Scamacca and Shomurodov. Three coaches already this season and a change in ownership equal a textbook relegation season imo.

Phew man, Cagliari just saved me here. Think the bookies had just slightly favoured Bologna so I'd gone for 2-0, and then adjusted down to 1 nil to the other side, and then thought, well okay. Scored 8 in last 12 Serie A games, and only 2 in the last game after 3 scoreless ones, let's give them one goal and a draw? So thank you, and no thank you for the injury time winner haha.

Torino getting 4-0 on Fiorentina was something nobody would of guessed. I knew them as a high scoring team but not anymore from yesterday giving a clean sheet away to the home side.
One match left today for Cagliari vs Bologna to close out the week of matches so to see who is a top the table in the pool.
I'll need a tie to get above the one who is on top so far. But we will see.

Saw Mourinho's face at 3-1, he was trying his best to look angry but you could see his smiles under all that facade... and then once Juventus were ahead, you saw him actually smiling without any pretense. I guess once you let in 3 goals in 7 minutes, and your captain takes a poor penalty after getting a defender sent off, losing the chance to snatch a point, you can't do anything but smile.

hahay, why do you got to breathe so close? =D

I am just reading the news now and this game was labelled the game of the season so far,,, and just as I was saying yesterday that the goals are flowing everywhere in Serie A, these 2 teams serve up a terrific game. Mourinho used to be famous for 1-0 wins and being stingy with attack and defence. Juventus used to be also famous for the same.

And now we have such a scoreline, not to mention Torino scoring 4 goals too, stupid me put Fiorentina 0-1  Roll Eyes
