Well hello there!
June 07, 2016, 12:03:41 AM
Great project!!  Interesting to see what my account value was and the difference between Individual and Merchant value(s).  I thought the difference would be greater.  My hats off to you good sir!

Hi, I have just experienced one curious issue / bug.
http://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/?token=2iib1jeg
I try to understand "the value" of my account and check this... I got 28 point more of activity than actually point.
(Also potential is wrong)
Why?! Any idea?!
The program calculates the potential activity and activity on the fly. I think there are a few types of posts that don't count towards activity (e.g. thread moving posts) that my estimator does not take into account.

Yes now it's clear... I have 518 here on forum 546 now is explained.
Thank you and nice calculator!

You already are a Hero member and the next possible rank that is legendary can't be estimated on the basis of potential activity. That is totally random,to determine the possibility of you becoming the next legendary check that thread is meta "Legendary one day".I'm pretty sure that is the possible bug since code written by KDK calculates the next rank by the activity points and the weeks involved as the forum's theorem.

Okay, thank you for summing that up for me. A appreciate it.
Basically stay active, post once a day to rank up. Make post count!
Next milestone... Join a Signature campaign. Give me a minute on that.
You don't need to post once a day to "claim" activity. You just need to post a minimum of once during every two week activity period. If you're interested in seeing what those two week periods are, somebody put together a useful spreadsheet with that information here.

After you've posted at least once during an activity period, you build up potential activity, which can be claimed at any time by making additional posts. For example, if you post once during activity period number one, and 20 times during activity period two, your activity would be increased by 21, and you'd still have a potential activity of seven.

How do you gain activity points?
How do you increase your status from like full member, to hero, or legendary?
Also, what's the point of these statuses? What makes it valuable? This forum is free, we all created free accounts, so what makes this account, (or any account) valuable?

1. You can activity points by being active, there is a limit of 14 within two-weeks-period
2. To increase the rank from full member (assuming 120 activity points) to hero member (480+) you need +360 activty points (or exactly 1 year) to be active (posting) min 14 posts each two weeks period.
3. Lower rank means more limits like posting, having the right to wear avatar then also signature(font size, color, background color etc.)
@knightdk you are doing a good job contributing to the community with this service, keep it up Smiley

I've reset the server and removed the old database, it was getting ridiculously huge.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of load/traffic have you been seeing? I am taken to understand that this is a highly popular service given the volume of discussion, but I was wondering about just how much traffic it takes to make a database ridiculously huge.
It wasn't actually that big, but for the machine I was using, the database was getting a little large. The server is the second cheapest Amazon EC2 instance which only has 0.6 Gb of RAM. I think that was causing the issues.

I've been seeing about 200 page views per day. The database had 1922 entries when I removed it. It is supposed to only store each entry for one week, so that should be representative of the number of requests in a week.

Site is down for me, can't load it at all Sad

This site can’t be reached
The connection was reset.
That is right. Site's server is down for everyone. http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/http://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/
It is nothing unusual to this service outage as it seems Bitcointalk price estimator become quire popular and issues (memory leaks etc.) described in Op will be only worse.

I am sure that knightdk is aware of this problem and will reset server as soon as he will be online.
