Let's restart! :-D
I am totally confused which sides to take, but eventually I was able to make my selections for the round. Who else is doing random selection?

Haha looks like we are back in action. I had uninstalled SuperBru, looks like I have to get things sorted once again to start with the IPL season, looks like our population has decreased from Last time isn't it?

The last time I logged in to Superbru was many months back and I was afraid that they wouldn't allow me inside. Somehow managed to login and make the picks for the first set of matches. I just selected the teams, and didn't locked the pick. Right now it is RapTarX who is leading with 26 points followed by teosanru (24 pts). But it will take some time to regain the momentum and get adjusted. I was also quite busy with my full-time job and was following international and franchise cricket only intermittently.
The only reason I reminded JSraw to bump the thread was that it came to my mind yesterday that I was on number 2, otherwise I would never have it restarted.  Grin

So, what do you guys expect now this IPL? Can RCB take home the cup? Especially after Virat has given up Indian captaincy if RCB doesn't win this edition, chances are he will give up RCB's captaincy too.

Thanks Jsraw for the mention. Otherwise, I would not even know about IPL getting restarted as I'm busy with some real life stuff. I just know that IPL will be resumed. Though I think I'm out of the competition, I will be picking and will look whether I can do the same as I did last edition.
Royse777 has a telegram channel for this pool. Maybe a shootout  Grin shout out to that channel would let everyone know the pool is getting resumed too.

What about the POOL? Are we going to have the pool started after the IPL resume again? Or this IPL pool will be stopped?
Asking this as I may miss the information up to date. I would be happy with waiting for IPL to be resumed.
ATM chances looking thin for the IPL so overall everyone decided through vote that pool amount should be transfer to the upcoming T-20 WC but if by any chance (Big if) BCCI got opportunity to resume the IPL before the T-20 WC then obviously this pool will continue with existing pool amount.

From what I have heard the BCCI is planning to conduct the remainder of the IPL just before the T20 World Cup. Because until September, the calendar is already jampacked. Now it needs to be seen how long it takes to negotiate with the Emirates Cricket Board and to bring all the franchises on board. The England players have already made it clear that they will not be participating in any resumption this year. I guess the other foreign players are also quite doubtful as far as the participation is concerned.

They probably did get into a fight since we all know about Warner when he gets pissed and ousting him as the SRH captain could have contributed. However, they denied it for obvious reasons.

Officially they both have denied that there was any such fight between them in any Maldives Bar. Talking about the payments for players. I think as long as the franchises are in profit( Which they should be in), they won't really make the players sad. Moreover, after risking the lives of the player in this deadly pandemic they really want to give them the compensation to shut up.

I know that Warner was not really happy about his firing. And he may have felt even more bitter, when he learnt that Kane Williamson has been appointed as the new captain. Warner had refused to include Williamson in the playing XI, during the first few matches.

BTW, I agree with teosanru. The players took a huge risk in participating in this tournament despite the ongoing pandemic. They deserve the full payment. And it's not just the players. Even the non-playing staff and the officials need to be compensated properly. Umpire Nitin Menon had to leave the tournament in between, when his family members tested positive.

BTW, is there any truth in the rumors of fight between David Warner and Michael Slater?

Anyways IPL I think won't happen for at least a year. I don't think BCCI would once again take the risk of calling a league amidst this COVID Crisis and I don't see covid crisis going anywhere in the next 6 months. This is why I think everyone wants to adjust funds for next big tournament.
The BCCI are staring at a 2500 crore loss if IPL 2021 gets cancelled which is why I am very confident that it will resume after a couple of months in some other country as I suggested in my previous posts.

1. Reserve for resume or next IPL : Royse777, Vishnu.Reang
2. Use the fund to next big tournament for example: WC T20 : JSRAW, teosanru, Swordsoffreedom, Haunebu, BitcoinGirl.Club
3. Return the funds to the users.
Well it seems majority wants the fund will be used for the next big tournament which lead me to bring this conclusion that if IPL resumes then we continue with this fund or we will use it for the next upcoming big tournament possibly WC T20.

Thanks everyone to help me to make a good decision as it seems my own decision was against the majority.
See that's what happens when you let people votes, you never get your ways. One of the reason i'm against democracy and preach about dictatorship lol

And i noticed that almost no-one followed "Vote Format". We definitely got nice bunch of peeps.  Grin
If you preach dictatorship you must be very happy with the political conditions of India currently.  Grin Anyways IPL I think won't happen for at least a year. And from what I have heard, the IPL players may not be impacted even if the tournament is called off. The franchises are likely to pay them the full amount.
That is tough to believe to be honest. Most franchises aren't even arranging proper transportation for their players in order to save money currently.

Apart from Mumbai Indians, the other franchises were of the opinion that the BCCI should arrange chartered flights for the players. Now they are justified in saying so, because it was the ego and stupidity of the BCCI which resulted in this situation. But I read in an online portal that the franchises want to keep their players happy and are likely to pay the full amount rather than going for a payment based on pro-rata. BTW, is there any truth in the rumors of fight between David Warner and Michael Slater?

Looks like IPL 2021 won't resume in India(If it resumes). UAE or UK seem like the best spots to resume IPL 2021. Personally, I would choose the UK since many Indian players will already be present there as Kevin mentioned.

My query is who the Duck is this Kevin? (Kevin Pietersen?)

And i noticed that almost no-one followed "Vote Format". We definitely got nice bunch of peeps.  Grin
I was surprised to see that. Some of them even gone with their own custom options that at some point I felt that I should have add something like "User the fund if IPL resume orfor  WC T20"

Anyway, good to see that we all are happy.
Not shocked but i laughed at it and thought yeah most of em are Indians or NRIs so its hard to follow any rules anyway lol. Pun intended of course, not insulting or mocking anyone.

BCCI stands to lose around 2500 crores based on Ganguly's comments which is why I don't think IPL 2021 will be cancelled completely. They will definitely find a solution.

I am sad that in the end it is the domestic players and the lower level non-playing staff who are going to suffer. Ranji Trophy was cancelled for consecutive seasons and this tournament provided around 60%-70% of the salary for the domestic players. Now the BCCI has got the excuse to further reduce their salaries. And from what I have heard, the IPL players may not be impacted even if the tournament is called off. The franchises are likely to pay them the full amount.

Entry Fee paid: 2da1b6a4e57687e9285de4aec2c67891589d3aa6547b2f4975b660a11f4a650e

By the way, returning funds to the users isn't that non-viable or costly as claimed. Currently, you can get BTC transactions confirmed in less than 10 sats/vbyte. In fact, my above transaction had 5 sats/vbyte fees and it got confirmed within next block. Since, there are 6 users who paid in BTC, fees will just cost 0.00004-0.00005 BTC ($2-3). But it would be best to keep the fun continue and hold with the pool until the cricket returns.  Wink

Great decision Royse. Imagine waiting until the next IPL and BTC price flies above $100K(Assumption). That would make us all winners, but waiting so long is boring which is why this decision is the best one overall.
