Declaring winners from the pool at the halfway stage isn't the best option since the second half could have witnessed many reversals which is why JSRAW's suggestion regarding shifting the funds to the T-20 World Cup is the better option in this case.

However, if IPL 2021 resumes, we can resume where we left off in the pool. Most of us predicted this scenario before the tournament began. The BCCI seriously messed up big-time here.

Haha who thought the pool would end this way? It's really going to be a hard time finding out the winner now.  Grin Also feeling too sad for RCB fans Grin Even though the playoffs were far away still I think they had a good chance of winning this time. The happiest man here would be KL Rahul  Grin Grin He was all set to miss the IPL so he made sure there is no IPL this time  Grin So am I getting 25% of the pool now? Grin But yes one thing for sure there was at least 3 hours of time pass every day which we could do at this time of complete negativity. And yes BCCI is going to be under a big problem from Governments as well as other Associations if even a single player gets serious due to COVID.

^^^^ Guys.... it is confirmed now. IPL 2021 has been suspended indefinitely. Members of three franchises have tested positive for the virus as of now, and as JSRAW posted earlier results came positive for Wriddhiman Saha of Sunrisers Hyderabad. The most worrying aspect was that there seems to be enough evidence to confirm the spread of infection inside the bio-bubble. A very big blow for the BCCI, as they will be losing hundreds of millions of USD in revenue. Their mistake of refusing the hosting offer from UAE was a big blunder.
So who wins the pool?
I should be given a special spot with the winners. Let's have round one out of equation then you will see I have done far better than some of you cricket gurus 😉

It was fun to make posts in this thread without knowing what is going on in the matches and making blind picks on superbru before every round LOL

If it gets postponed, although i doubt it but in case of any mishappening it does gets cancelled then i would prefer pool amount should go to upcoming T-20 World Cup pool, at least that's what i want with my entry fees.  Other suggestions are also welcome.
I don't think it will get postponed or cancelled. They already mentioned that the worst case scenario is shifting to the UAE which will probably happen soon due to the current rapid spread of the virus.

However, if it actually does get cancelled(Highly doubtful), I second your suggestion regarding shifting the fees towards the T-20 World Cup.

Reports are coming in that Today's game SRH vs MI match is also postponed as Saha tested positive.

This is going to be real bad news for the BCCI. They will be regretting the decision to turn down UAE's offer to host the tournament.
Those corrupt officials were aware of the risks and still went ahead which is why I doubt they will regret their decision.
They were eying the T-20 WC hosting rights and wanted to make statement by organizing IPL, didn't turn out well unfortunately. Now all they can do is damage control.

Bad news for IPL franciase.

If they postpone the tournament then we will pause the pool too. That's what we did in the last season. I woke up late today and wanted to check the tele to see if the match has started before knowing the Covid news.

Thanks for the confirmation Royse777. The BCCI is claiming that they don't need to postpone the tournament and the other players are fine. But I have my own doubts. The double-mutant strain of COVID 19, which is prevalent in India nowadays is highly contagious and airborne. If some of the players came in to contact with either Chakravarthy or Warrier, then they need to wait for a few days before confirming that they are not infected. This is going to be real bad news for the BCCI. They will be regretting the decision to turn down UAE's offer to host the tournament.

So many people are testing positive for COVID 19 inside the IPL bubble and there is a good chance that the tournament may get postponed. Now the question is what will happen to this pool? If I understand the rules correctly, the pool will also be paused (please rectify me in case I am wrong). For the Kolkata Knight Riders, some of their key players such as Varun Chakravarthy have tested positive. The BCCI is still claiming that the bubble was not breached and Chakravarthy was exposed when he left the bubble through the "green channel" and visited a nearby hospital to get a shoulder scan. Somehow I think that this story is not entirely believable.

Bad IPL Sunday for me. Both predictions turned out to be wrong. SRH got whopped by RR and DC screwed Punjab easily. Didn't expect Rahul to become unhealthy suddenly. This is a huge blow to Punjab.

Rashid? Dude, Rashid is not an Indian citizen. He represents Afghanistan and therefore the 4-player overseas limit is applicable for him as well. He is based in India and speaks fluent Hindi, so a lot of people think that he's Indian.
Lol. My mistake. His name pops up everytime I think of quality SRH players which is why I included him. Pandey, Bhuvi and Natarajan are the only good Indian players in SRH in my opinion.

I agree. This is easily the worst season for SRH so far and am not surprised. Their continued reliance on their local talent who have been consistently delivering below average performances has become their biggest weakness.

Pandey, Rashid and Bhuvi are the only decent Indian players in their team currently. Axing Warner was a bad move in my opinion since that could have demotivated the team overall. They need to change the selectors too.

Natarajan is absent due to injury, and that leaves just two quality local players (as you mentioned, Pandey and Bhuvi). Others are just making up the numbers.
If T. Natarajan was in the squad, maybe SRH points would not be at the bottom of the table. SRH has played 7 matches and won only 1 match. SRH's squad has some great batsmen, but they are failing to maintain the continuity of performance. On the other hand, I do not see any other experienced bowler in the squad except Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan. If Bhubaneswar Kumar and T. Natarajan could have been regulars in the squad, SRH's performance would have been better.

Another 220 total. It looks like big totals have become a trend in this IPL. That said, at least during the next auctions SRH needs to do something to strengthen their bowling. Apart from Rashid Khan, and to an extent Bhuvneshwar Kumar, none of their bowlers are capable of competing in the IPL. Sandeep Sharma has failed again and again. Khaleel Ahmed has been horrendous this season. And then Vijay Shankar is neither good in bowling, nor in batting.

You are picking up pace in the pool, if you continue winning like this then by end of next round you might come near top 4.

Today going with MI, Senior citizens is fav team but MI need some backing in tough time.  Wink
After seeing 218 runs next to the yellow gang, I thought it's an easy 1 point for me and if I am lucky then I may get two points too but I did not think that I will not have any point at all! The blues were amazing especiall that big man with those big hits at the end.

It was a match to enjoy.

I am going with a narrow for the pinks tomorrow.
After seeing the runs on the scoreboard even i made the peace that MI were going to lose but luckily for MI everything went down the drain for CSK.

Another big total today, get ready for fine run chase. Although its tough task to ask from the SRH as their middle order is not even performing.

What the heck did I just watch? CSK scored their highest score against MI and MI successfully chased it down. Pollard is back in his monstrous form. Looks like MI is slowly and steadily rising to the top yet again.

I always believed that Lungi Ngidi is one of the worst IPL bowlers ever and his last over proved that. He bowled full tosses like an absolute amateur making it easy for Pollard to drill them.

Couple of them were almost no-balls. I have no idea why CSK continue relying on him despite his horrific performances regularly.

^^I think SRH's foreign players doing okay for the team, its just their Indian talent especially batsmen in the middle order are not performing for quite some time and its hurting their campaign and combination. In coming weeks if they (middle order) don't start performing then SRH should forget about the playoffs.

From now on Kane Williamson is going to lead SRH. Don't know what that's mean "Changing overseas combination" Are they going to drop Warner from the team or what?
Agree or not, this is needed for SRH to get a good combination. Warner isn’t playing as expected, he is in off form. On the other hand, Williamson is.
Now, if both to be played, you have to exclude Holder and Jason Roy. Including any of them would be great for SRH, at least having a try with the combination of Williamson, Bairstaw, Rashid Khan and any one of Holder and Roy. Both could of great benefit for the batting line up for SRH.
