Today I have selected KKR. KKR decided to bowl after winning the toss. So far they seem to have succeeded. PBKS gave a target of 124 runs in 20 overs. KKR should win today's match very easily. If the batting disaster does not happen then KKR will win very easily.
I had KKR but half an hour before the match to start I changed mind. Now it seems I went with a wrong team :-D After a long time I watched a one-day style match. Was it too hard to get the bat ball together?

At first, I've selected KXI too but after the toss, I changed it quickly and gave KKR, Now I've noticed it remains unchanged due to my network problem, my bad luck.  Sad

I don't know why Williamson is not regular in SRH team. Is there something to do with Australia vs New Zealand ego?
Nah, there is no rift among Aussie and Kiwis players. Its just that at start Williamson was not match fit and team can include only 4 foreign players in the squad. Additionally SRH was flirting with the all rounders.

They already have Warner and Bairstow to pop up the batting. Then Rashid is sort of regular as far as the spin bowing slot is concerned. That leaves only one slot that is open. They tried Mohammad Nabi and Jason Holder, who are all rounders. These two didn't performed up to the mark, so in the end they decided to consider Williamson for the fourth overseas player slot. I am sure that now they will be regretting about their decision to drop him for the first few matches.

Vijay Shankar has improved his bowling while his batting still sucks as usual. They need to replace Virat singh with Pandey for obvious reasons. SRH is over-dependent on their foreign players in the batting department.

This one flaw has been haunting them for the last couple of years. They shouldn't have released Dhawan. Also, I have no idea why Bairstow didn't play in the super-over.

Looks like I will get some points from the SRH vs DC match. I knew it, since I saw Kedar Jadhav in the SRH playing XI. This guy was very instrumental in CSK's poor form last season, and now he will pass the curse to SRH. And he didn't disappointed me. Mid-way through the innings he dropped an easy catch from Rishabh Pant (who went on to make 37 from 27 balls). BTW, happy to see two consecutive good performances from Steve Smith.
Hehe dead weight Jadhav, there is a reason CSK released him and SRH preferred him over Samad, serves them well tonight lol.

Feeling bad for Kane Williamson tho, it was excellent effort but middle order failed one more time. I had some doubts before but now i'm convinced that Shankar is shitty batsman.

They need someone who can build a partnership. Samad is good for short bursts, but he is not suitable for middle overs. And Vijay Shankar is of zero use. He is neither suitable for middle overs, nor for the depth overs. Mohammad Nabi was given a chance earlier, but he failed. Manish Pandey and Jason Roy are more suitable for the top order and not for the middle order. So for now, I guess their middle order woes are going to persist for some time.

I had a good start in this round but then I forgot to pick the rest of the matches. The default pick is no more for me so I got zero points in last three matches LOL.

For the next few matches my picks are: KKR, RCB, CSK, RR, DC.

Al random 🤣

It was nice to see the tie match. I don't know why Williamson is not regular in SRH team. Is there something to do with Australia vs New Zealand ego?

Hahah I can really remember now that Shankar has done thing thing many many times even a couple of times for India too. I think he should re introspect himself as a lower order batsmen, the team knows it that's why they sent him after Rashid but looks like now he'll be coming after Suchit too. I think the only thing that made a difference here was that one short run of David Warner otherwise the match would have still been alive. But yes Kane tried his best. Not sending Bairstow with Kane was a foolish choice by Warner he just made 3 runs of 4 balls he played in super over.

The bits and pieces player scored 37 freaking runs in the final over. He grabbed a couple of wickets too and managed a run-out. This guy deserves to be the number one all-rounder in the T-20 format currently in my opinion.

RCB looks to be in such terrific form, and it will be very difficult for CSK to beat them. But at the same time, I have to admit that CSK looks like a team reborn. Anyone remember their condition during the last year's tournament (at least during the first half)? The addition of Raina has made a huge difference, on top of good performances by du Plessis and Chahar.
Looks like you were wrong. This is the IPL where teams in amazing form collapse like a pack of cards. Didn't expect CSK to thrash them so badly though. CSK's NRR skyrocketed.

Coming to today's matches, I am expecting CSK to break RCB's streak and SRH to win against Delhi.

I won't be surprised if they get the wooden spoon this time.

They were looking really good but Harshal Patel took out Faf and Raina on consecutive deliveries, this did some damage to momentum and might restrict their total under 160-170. At one point they were heading towards 200.

RR bounced back right after Punjab. Crazy. Some of the KKR batsmen literally threw away their wickets showing their desperation due to which they are at the bottom of the table. Rana and Tripathi seem like the only consistent batsmen currently.

No I don't think Padikkal is a wicket keeper. I always thought he was an all-rounder?

I think KL Rahul is batting so good that he would fit anyway despite of using him as a wicket-keeper or not at least in the shorter formats. Ishan Kishan is inconsistent too but yeah a good talent. So there is going to be an abundance of wicket-keeping batsmen soon.

In past Rahul showed a flexibility that he can bat anywhere Top or Middle order so he surely is strong candidate along with Iyer (new addition is SKY but guess its early) in the middle order as India is trying to fill number 4 spot for so long, considering Pant, Pandaya,Jadeja would bat at 5,6,7.

It feels like Samson's international career never going to kick in. After his first ton in the first game he again went into his shell and struggling with the consistency drama. It pains me to see such a talented batsman to struggle again n again. Poor guy need serious soul searching if he want to make name for himself in the cricketing world.

Samson is highly inconsistent. Although his fans would disagree with me, I think he has got enough chances at least when compared to someone like Devdutt Padikkal or Ishan Kishan. Now there is too much competition for the slot of wicketkeeper batsman and Samson has so far wasted whatever opportunity that was given to him. A lot will depend on how he performs during the remainder of the IPL.
In future selectors might play ping pong with the 3-4 individuals and they should as more guys ranking up quickly. As of now wicket keeper slot vacuum is already filled by Pant and in shorter format KL would be their second choice. Padikkal is keeper?

In this season MI is not looking hungry enough.  Undecided

Lfc is the only one who correctly predicted Punjab scoring an easy win over MI which is an exceptional prediction since I didn't expect Punjab to bounce back like this. Will they start another winning streak like last season?

Bet on KKR against RR primarily due to their recent performance against CSK. Also, 2 exciting matches this Sunday people.
Ahh, they played like a great team today. In all three departments, they were spot on. It looked as if it's an entirely different team from the one that played the previous match. I think it was the start of the bowling attack which worked pretty nicely for Punjab. I Still think that Gayle and Rahul should open. Gayle is useless if he comes after 10 overs. But no one expected that Punjab could pull it off this easily. They have found the right combination for Chennai Stadium but I think it was their last match here now.  Grin
