My 2nd win! As usual I was not expecting to have any point but very pleased to see Deli Capital finished it well. I wish I had a decent first round. Still I am occupying the bottom place. Can anyone help me to get 2 points from a match? I have not got any yet.

Its better that way otherwise it would be embarrassing for some of us.  Grin
You are actually doing better than any other pools we had :-D I guess you are learning from your mistakes :-P

Finally, Rapter missed to score in the last match.
I guess so lol

~snip~

LOL.. Rapter is far ahead of the rest with 15 points. I think it will be extremely difficult for anyone to catch up with him. Today's match is going to be tricky. It is between two of the tournament favorites (Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians), and both of them are not in very good shape right now. There are rumors that Axar will be included in the DC playing XI. If that is the case then Axar/Ashwin combination can pose serious issues to the MI batsmen. Also, it will be interesting to see whether DC is going to drop Steve Smith or not.
Smudge playing today, he only played 1 game so it make sense, they should give him atleast 3 games before keeping him out from the playing XI. He's not T-20 specialist but he's champion batsman and atleast better than Ajinkya.

I disagree. DC are managing well without Nortje and Iyer to be honest. Smith just played one match and ruling out someone so extraordinary is stupidity. Also, Rabada is their best bowler(Not Nortje) and Dhawan is their best batsman(Not Iyer).

The team that actually got negatively impacted the most currently is RR since they are missing Archer and Stokes who were vital cogs of their team.

I would agree with you on Rajasthan Royals, but still from the performance of Delhi Capitals, it looks as if they are badly missing Iyer and Nortje. Smith is not able to perform in the place of Iyer, while Chris Woakes who came in the place of Nortje has been expensive. Another aspect is that Rishabh Pant doesn't have much experience captaining the side, and it was evident a few times during pressure situations. That said, from what I heard Nortje will be available from next match onwards.

In today's CSK vs RR match, I bet on RR. But for a while now, my betting luck was going very badly. I have lost a lot of money in the last 1 week. Yesterday I won the bet in the match of DC vs PBKS. CSK players scored 112 runs in 12 overs losing 3 wickets. It looks like CSK will score 175-165. I think RR can win the match if the target is below 180.
Sorry for your loss brother. In gambling it's regular, you win, you lose. I hope you are in control of your gambling habit.

I am very happy with my first earned point! I knew that one day I will manage to get a correct pick 🤣

Did anyone notice that Rapter has 100% accuracy rate? So far he has 11 correct pick from 11 matches. This is insane!!! After an average first round vishnu coming back to competition. teosanru is also doing exceptional.
As far as Rapter or anyone else 100% accuracy is concern. I refused to accept this reality and round 1 doesn't exit in my playbook  Tongue Wink. Its better that way otherwise it would be embarrassing for some of us.  Grin

You need to understand that the Delhi Capitals are playing without two of their most important players. They are missing their best batsman (Shreyas Iyer) and the best bowler (Anrich Nortje). No other team has been as negatively impacted by player absence such as the DC. Kagiso Rabada performs the best when he bowls in tandem with Nortje. In the absence of Nortje, Rabada has been unimpressive so far. And from what we saw yesterday, it is very clear that Steven Smith is unable to fill the vacuum created by the absence of Iyer.

Arshdeep bowling really well even when put under pressure, skinny boy but got big heart for sure. Same story for Delhi's bowlers, everyone got smashed. Although they pulled up really good at the end. There are seamers, spinners, off spinners, leg spinners and at last we have Ashwin  Grin. I recently looked at his IPL stats and found out that his economy is too good for T-20 format (less than 7), very close to Rashid Khan.

DC is the same team that is chasing big totals like they are nothing and got screwed recently by RR. Not a single team has been consistent so far. Even RCB needed a good deal of luck to win some of their matches.

The Indian pitches have become a nightmare for both the players and the punters. Winning this pool would need an insane amount of luck this time around.

Guys not much into cricket but I thought why not have some fun. It's between two teams only. Head or tail LOL

But to my surprise in the first round all gone south for me 😂

Last few days I was busy so could not even log into the forum obviously could not select my picks. But a few minutes ago I checked my superbru and discovered 3 points next to me lol
I should have continued not making picks 😆

Don't feel bad.. even those with good knowledge of the tournament are struggling now. There have been a lot of upsets, especially with top teams such as Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders facing defeat. On the other hand, less fancied teams such as Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore are doing well in a relative sense. It has been a very unpredictive tournament so far. Hopefully we'll have more luck in the remaining rounds.

Benchoo... Wankhede curators creating confusion in every game by changing wickets. This is the same pitch where Punjab faced the humiliating collapse.

You know about the nature of the pitch when bowlers like Mohammad Shami and Kagiso Rabada goes for more than 10 runs per over. So far the only bowler who got his act right seems to be Ravichandran Ashwin (28 runs from 4 overs). Everyone else went for more than 8 runs per over. And so far in this edition of the IPL, the foreign pacers have struggled to adjust. And this was true during this match as well.
Shami had off day at work, quite ordinary. Everyone treated him like an club bowler, knocking everywhere. Sikhar Dhawan looking in excellent touch, already highest run scorer in this season and orange cap holder. If he gets going like this then Delhi should make into playoffs quite easily.
Man Today's match was more like a joke. It was as if a world-class batting lineup is batting against a whole club bowling lot. Punjab thought that adding two international bowlers in their squad would solve their problems of death overs but I think the problem has aggravated more even after spending something around 22 Crores on Richardson and Meredith. I am getting the point that the pitch was somewhat bad and a lot of dew further made bowling difficult but you obviously have to give your best in any type of conditions to win matches. Even the fielding looked pretty ordinary. Shami who is expected to be the wicket-taker of this team was bowling like he is giving batsmen the batting practice they need. Just look at the bowling statistics of PBXI bowler today:

It looks as if Arshdeep is their star bowler and best performer this season because apart from him rest everyone is going for a toss. Secondly why in this world are they not adding Ravi Bishnoi into the side? He was their best bowler last season too. Also why waste the Gayle Storm on number 3? If Rahul cannot send Mayank on number 3, he should himself come on number 3. Gayle coming after 10-12 overs on the pitch is futile and of no use. He cannot play according to the momentum of the game he just creates that momentum himself. I am surprised to see the way think tank of PBXI is behaving.

Never heard about it in cricket but it would be exciting to watch RCB,MI,CSK,SRH (as they have huge fan base) and more teams from other cricket leagues (BBL etc) touring MCG,Lords,Eden Garden,Motera, Capetown to compete.

One issue with this suggestion is the revenue distribution. For example, if RCB is touring Sydney Sixers, then the revenues will be shared between RCB and SS, with BCCI and CA losing out. Under such circumstances, the respective national boards won't be too interested in such tours. Also, the availability of national players can be a concern. Without players such as Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the tours may not collect much revenue. And finally, there may be players who represent both the franchises.
Boards and Franchise could come up with some sort of revenue sharing solution. Bilateral cricket is becoming boring anyway, although its main source of income for every cricketing board so no idea about the solution.

RCB blew KKR away as expected. Maxwell and ABD took the game away from them thanks to their spectacular knocks. Russell batted well after a long time until the last 2nd over where he messed up big-time.

He should have taken the singles and twos in order to decrease the pressure. Also, I have no idea why Karthik keeps getting more and more chances.
Kolkata is not stable as a team in this season. RCB gave a huge target of 205 runs. KKR's top-order batsmen should have scored 90-100 runs in the first 10 overs. While Gill and Rana's strike rate was good, Tripathi, Morgan, and Sakib's strike rate was not good enough. I was not satisfied with the batting of Sakib and Dinesh Kartik. Besides, Shakib bowled only 2 overs. Maybe he gave up 24 runs in 2 overs but I think he should have bowled 1 more over. He is an experienced bowler.
