Ever heard of  Bitreserve?

Funny how we managed to put their business model into a small part of our ecosystem huh?  Cheesy

Hmmm... a sea of paper, and no physical. 0.5/10, would not hit.  Grin

However, I vote we steal also adopt "Proof of Solvency".

Umm... we already have it in the wallet... check the statistics tab. I only need to correct a few lines for it to be accurate. I guess i can add the word "solvency" but we do indeed already track all our assets. I also intend to introduce a reasonably independent routine that tracks fiat and PM.

Note that not only are we tracking assets, we also track the money supply and determine not only how much has been minted , but how much is held in  escrow and how much is unavailable due to being used as collateral for BNs.... This has a pending expansion where we will track how much is held in contracts, user/tx escrow and as collateral for assets issued. The extended trust and statistics engine is the one stop shop for the most accurate real-time data regarding the system. Did i mention it also tracks current bids and can include them in it's calculations?

 Smiley

More to come

edit: um...about that voting code...it can double as a ratings system for BNs.... i guess there is a strong reason to add it....

BN rating is based on trust/credit rating, time existing and user review....

I'm guessing now is as good a time as any to say that i agree with the idea to divorce BCR from BTC, just look at the massive price difference in three weeks.

Took some time to update the website, i'm also going to use the recent stock market crash + bitcoin crash to emphasize my point

Check it out :- http://bcrp2pool.website/

Looks excellent! (I'm still not a fan of text over pictures though.)  Grin

As to divorcing BCR from BTC, I think that'll happen pretty naturally by BCR being

a) Useful
b) Backed by more than hot air

Just had a bad wallet crash.

Opened wallet and it re-synced the blockchain but 0 coins. Tried repairwallet in console but says method not found.

Any other commands to try.

There is a backups folder for exactly this kind of situation. open your data dir and select one of the backups and replace wallet.dat with renamed backup.

 Cool

Thanks for that.

Forgot had to change it to just .bat

HGPUPC addicted!
BCR is launching nodes everywhere.... nice!

The 0.30.16.90-rc3  has some libpng problems on Windows 10... not yet had time to investigate why.

Nice work, good job! Smiley Working fine on Windows 8.1 x64 and Windows 10 x64.

Dragos, could you help me setup my Windows build environment?

Check %appdata%\Bitcredit\backups.  There you'll find last 10 backups of the wallet.

Try this:

1) Go to your %APPDATA% folder, find BCR wallet folder,
2) Take your wallet.dat and put it on desktop (so you can find it easier later)
3) Go back 1 step, select entire BCR folder, hit delete (use admin rights if asked if you are sure?)
4) Re-download the wallet, run the installation, let it download all blocks, then close it.
5) Delete new wallet.dat you got from that fresh installation, then put wallet.dat from desktop inside,
6) Re-run the wallet. It should be fixed.

If not, you should wait for the dev to help you.

Hope this helps!

I am going to work outside the daemon and create the first banking solution, which means you will have to download the apps as a bundle if you wish to run a bank.

I think this is a good step to take, I have always liked the *nix mentality of tool specificity. It should allow easier testing and smoother rollout of new back-end capability without regular users (who just want my-balance/send/receive/asset-stats) having to wrestle with screenloads of mumbo-jumbo they don't need.

An actual Bank cannot run off the basic daemon code, already i see signs of strain...btw  the refresh button in all clients should work now, i funded all the addresses with a single tx as a temporary work around for the lack of adequate error handling.

I am going to work outside the daemon and create the first banking solution, which means you will have to download the apps as a bundle if you wish to run a bank. This will coincide with the introduction of larger Bank nodes and an even more elaborate payout system. There is an ongoing discussion on which to favour, larger nodes or smaller nodes , feel free to add some input on the issue.

I know the whole bundling thing is mighty inconvenient, but the typical daemon can only do so much and let us not forget that such a system is limited by the rpc interface to a wallet as well as the database types used by the wallet. We need something that can perform faster and more reliably without choking the wallet. Of course just because we are working outside the wallet, that does not mean that we won't be recording all actions on the chain.

Pool daemons updated, have you found someone to modify the code? Can confirm refresh works on local install.
