It is completly a SCAM, when you have a lot of gold on your account they close your account and stole all your money, they said: You break our terms of service.

And no 1 term of service broken, they never answer you the emails.

Here is my experience with BitGold so far.

I have signed up for an account, uploaded a copy of my ID, made a deposit using a credit card, and requested a prepaid card.

A day or two later, my account is suspended, and my prepaid card request is denied. They are requesting me to provide a secondary ID and a copy of my credit card. My account is reactivated.

I have requested a prepaid card again. The request was not immediately denied, but it still pending.

I added an ACH account and made a deposit into the BitGold account. Next day, the transaction was canceled with the description "Chargeback - Aborted". It did not appear on my bank account.

I asked BitGold customer support why the ACH deposit was canceled, and they said that their ACH provider has indicated that I don't have sufficient funds on my bank account.

In fact, I have much more available funds on the account than the transaction amount, and I explained that to them.

They replied that in order to complete the ACH deposit, I need to provide them with a bank statement showing that I have sufficient funds, and that they are unable to waive this requirement.

I think that when you add an ACH account on BitGold by entering the login information to your bank account, they use an automated system that logs on to your bank account online and checks the available funds. In my case, it didn't work correctly -- or maybe BitGold wanted a pretense to obtain my bank statement.

I became concerned about my banking privacy and deleted the bank account from BitGold. I also changed my online banking password.

Needless to say, I found sending my bank statement to BitGold to be unacceptable. If I really wanted to go satisfy their request for proof of sufficient funds, I could ask the bank to issue a bank reference, but that would be a lot of fuss when I am still undecided whether I will use BitGold going forward.

I've read this entire thread and the reviews on Trustpilot, and don't think I sufficiently trust BitGold at this point to seriously use their services.

I guess I will keep the account open for a while and see what happens.

I heard that PayPal's quality of service has improved after a number of class action lawsuits. Maybe I should give BitGold time to mature and round its edges.

It is concerning that BitGold doesn't charge for gold storage and makes a huge emphasis on its referral program. I heard that its average account size is something like $30. I also heard that BitGold's financial statements don't look good. I would like to see an overall improvement of this as well.

BitGold seems to doing a great job holding my funds.

If millennials and the Internet savvy around the world simply run the math, it's clear that fiat serves no one aside from the people who create it and their friends, whereas Bitcoin and gold (and silver) are mathematically rare forms of "commodity money" easy for disparate communities and cultures to adopt en masse... as has been done in the past! Commodity money (usually Gold) has been used successfully for thousands of years; big government fiat money has been used, disastrously and often unfairly, for 45 years. Which "tokens" will endure?

Here's a picture!! That's why I keep alternating my gold. I had to make sure I actually could get it. Like I've said before, never had an issue. If you have used Bitgold before, you know the way the website looks. I've insured my gold through intact for about $12 a month because its not in my possession, so if it does happen to disappear, I'm good. I will gladly give a 1 oz maple leaf coin to anyone that shows me that Bitgold truly stole someones money. Not a violation of terms or anything like that. True actual usage and the gold just disappeared for no reason. I have yet to experience it, maybe because I only referred my family members which all have the same last name. Aside from that, I just deposit and withdraw.
i could give you plenty of examples... hit me up and ill show you through teamviewer my account where they stole money from me !!!

I also saw a lot of people complaining that this site was stealing money from them after egopay have fled with money people do not understand how some people are registered in the first site that appears even trust their documents to these sites

i can only say on thing...good luck whit "your gold", i'll never buy such an amount to store it in bitgold

I seen a post on the ethereum Reddit page about bitgold. I thought it was pretty cool. so I commenced to add my credit card, bank account, set up reacquiring ACH deposits. everything said I was verified after sending my photo ID. all was well... well until I tried to redeem. they now want more verification. I've sent 4 forms of ID and I'm still not approved. I have cancled my auto payment so far and about to call my credit card company. the scary part is they have all my IDs now and my bank account numbers.

pudg - what is most concerning to me is that they can recall balances to their own accounts on a whim.  This was demonstrated with referral balances - which were equal with existing balances (settled for 6 months+) until they were not.

They don't need your explicit permission to fiddle with your balance - just their interpretation of the ever-changing terms. And even if their interpretation ends up being wrong - the gold is still gone.

This makes a mockery of claims that your gold is segregated and protected in case of malfeasance/bankruptcy/fraud. Especially if bitgold does not want it to be (e.g. they could settle you with cash).

Segregated perhaps in the sense that my right and left hand are separate, but I always have complete control over what they do...

Maybe you are actually giving them a free call option over your gold? If gold went parabolic could they resist doing so?

Nice picture. 2.025 kg gold worth $101040.37.
http://goldprice.org/ : 1 kg gold is worth $40,042.79

Like I said before: Forgive me for not believing you Cheesy

LMAO. I'm not American!!! Um, I'm not sure what you're talking about? I took that picture at $50.52 per gram. I am Canadian, so I use CAD currency. Not sure what gold is going for USD currency. Take that $101040.37 CAD and convert it to USD. Using Google, it comes out to $80,273.60 US!

I always keep 2kg in Bitgold and have picked one up from brinks in Toronto. Pretty long process for verification but easy. They required fingerprints to pickup kilo bars, just to let anyone know if you plan on it. I then resold the bar to TD for some profit! Worked out nicely.
Forgive me for not believing you Cheesy
And if it's true, you'd better realize you can easily loose your money with them. You don't own gold unless you can touch it.

Guys common!!! Read the damn terms and conditions!!! Its written clear as day! Every single one of your complaints has violated their terms, so no wonder you accounts were suspended. Bitgold is a PUBLIC company in Toronto Canada, listed under the TSX and traded daily. Financials are public and they're constantly verified. BITGOLD is legit and I know this because I've delivered to their office. I've met many of the employees, including Melanie!
Seeing an office doesn't make a business legit. As far as I know they're no financial institution, if they were, much stricter rules would apply to them.

If you have the gold, withdraw then a charge back is issued, Bitgold is out double the money. Once on the gold, the other on the charge back.
You're double-counting. If I give you 1, you give 1 away, and I take back my 1, you're down 1, not 2.

Oh I know. I'm not arguing that, what I'm arguing is majority of the referrals came from YouTube. Thats not personal relationships. Bitgold is not a financial institution, you're right about that. Being public, does make the company legit, because all the financials are public. There are also no loopholes to hide debt like enron did, so everything is public information. About the double counting, you might have misunderstood me. I meant if you used a stolen credit card. You deposited with the card and you have one ounce in the account. You then withdraw the gold in a one ounce coin. Then the original card owner chargesback to Bitgold. Now Bitgold loses the money that was paid for the gold. So now they lost your one ounce coin, plus the money from the credit card.  That's 2. It would be different if you withdrew cash, because the gold never left their possession. I always keep 2kg in Bitgold and have picked one up from brinks in Toronto. Pretty long process for verification but easy. They required fingerprints to pickup kilo bars, just to let anyone know if you plan on it. I then resold the bar to TD for some profit! Worked out nicely.

It's not a scam.  It trades on the TSX (symbol XAU) and closed today @ $5.40CA per share.  BitGold is not an affiliate of Bitcoin.  They're not connected in any way.
LOL, no it doesn't.

Uh, yes it does. XAU is GOLDMONEY INC which is Bitgold.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnfc2rSATJE

So that room in the TSX must be fake as well for the fact that their stock is a scam as well, right?

or wait, so, that video was uploaded BY TSX themselves so the stock market must be a scam as well or did the TSX just get duped by Bitgold?

Wow look at these brand new accounts created just to defend bitgold.com Roll Eyes.

These desperate attempts saying its legit actually make it look even more of a scam than it did before.

Are you retarded? Just because you see a new account, it must be Bitgold, claiming their innocence. WTF is that? I created this account, to contest the stupid remarks on here that they're a scam. I'm sorry I actually read the terms and conditions unlike everyone else on here complaining, that's why I still have an active account.

Grow up people and take accountability for your actions. YOU AGREED TO THE TERMS WHEN YOU SIGNED UP! IF YOU DONT AGREE, DONT SIGN UP!
