All paid signature campaigns should be banned.
I know that the 9.75 or 10 will get refunded.  BitLotto always refunds all bad entries (too small or too large) - usually after or near the drawing.

It is just a matter of when and how much (9.75 or 10).

I just saw that too and slapped my forehead. It's pretty clear in the rules to send .25 btc each so I'm not sure that it would be right to mess with the address by sending money back. It could be construed by players as invalid removal of funds. I wouldn't take that stand but I could see it being held by some.

OOPS!

1G5apmPvo2iTtmkNWAHTCET7Y842Ufijs8 did not understand how BitLotto works and just sent 10 BTC for one entry!

Dear 1G5apmPvo2iTtmkNWAHTCET7Y842Ufijs8,

One transaction = one hash = one entry!

You will need to send 0.25 BTC 40 times in 40 different transactions in order to create 40 different hashes for your 40 different "lotto tickets".

Hopefully you will get a 9.75 BTC refund so you can send 39 more separate transactions.

Ya, the jackpot calculations for bit showed 0 while blockexplorer.com was down...
Everything should work now though.

Still shows 0.

BlockExplorer implemented service limits, no more than one query per second or the request's IP gets banned.  Is that possibly the problem?

Since the amount of wagers made will never go down, couldn't the site simply use a fallback to last known value when there are issues in calculating the total wagered?

March 7 Jackpot Size So Far: 41.09 BTC

Working for me:

Quote
March 7 Jackpot Size So Far: 20.54 BTC
Current approx odds: 1/83 or 1/(total tickets)

whooah ... so eventually it responded, but now shows:
"March 7 Jackpot Size So Far: 0 BTC"

[update: now responds (though slow) and shows the same jackpot as you show.]

Every time you enter you get a new ticket (based on the hash of the transaction).  You can enter as many times as you like.  The more you enter the more money there is for me when I win!

(I usually enter 4 times per month for 1 BTC per month - but that is just my "system")
