Buying one of these seems risky as fuck. Any news regarding PoW/PoS change on Ethereum? Even tho these miners are cheap, they will not ship for a long time (crypto time). New nvidia cards could come out, making this hashrate a joke. Alot of risk involved in these.

ithink most of the eth hash rate is asics so pos will fuck bitmain and thier ilk more thangpu miners

I think that you are wrong

All of GPU miners will be fucked with POS

The real danger for ETH/ZEC etc miners is POS not Bitmain.

And I think Vitalik will take POS more seriously now with Bitmain treat.

There is no point to buy any mining equipment anymore neither GPU or Asic.

Clueless!
why did not i discover the thread before? e3 for $800 USD is a good price. now the batch with the price of $1800 USD is to expensive for me.  Cry

at 800 bucks it was still less than 4 bucks a day ...if I remember right from a while back...was not all that great at the $800 buck price .now it is beyond stupid to get one

I wonder... When will it be limited by DAG size? Any info available on internal memory?

Why ask here?
The only available information is what Bitmain has posted on their sales site.

What kind of asics is this when it does the same speed as 6x rx rig at the same/higher price and on same power consumption while its limited on only 1 algo and it comes with bitmains 6 months warranty while you can have 2 year warranty with gpus and bigger re sale field?

The second batch being more expensive has happened with other Bitmain miners in the past like the D3 IIRC, though I don't have the exact numbers for the pricing for the first and second batch of that particular miner.

I doubt sales were that great for the E3 in the first place, and they still chose to raise the pricing for the next batch. Interesting moves on the side of Bitmain. Anyone who buys an E3 at this price is throwing their money away, and even the $800 E3 was a gamble.

I agree. I will still make some profit by using my undervolted R9 390. However, I wish there will be a PoW change.

in the end it turns out that they love each other and we miners suffering from their hustle....

Yes eth devs do not care about gpu miners at all.

ETH devs made that clear a LONG time ago when they first announced the move to Proof of Stake.

It shouldn't be new news....

I don't mess with these " Bitmain Experiments". AT ALL! I learned my lesson from the D3 and that actually was the best of all the "Bitmain Experiments". It's all just a deliberate diversion anyway to keep people from realizing that Bitmain is currently running higher density chip sets in their own miners and dumping all their legacy technology all over the marketplace. How many fucking Yachts can these bastards water ski behind???

Only 1 coupon per unit...so I think $200 is the largest bitmain coupon out there now. FYI...so if that is still correct it is still a $1,600 buck machine (or 2x the previous price)

There are $350 and $420 coupons. Still I'd rather use those on a T9+ or an S9.

Dam, howd ya score them?

There were some miners that Bitmain was selling for $2000 recently and then dropped the price significantly, so they were handing out tons of coupons to earlier buyers.

You can check the marketplace, there are some of these coupons for sale. Beware of scammers though.

It's funny how they just decide to add a 1 In front of the price.

Either they accidentally put in $800 and meant $1800 and took them a few days to notice.

Or they read everyone saying how it was "cheap" and they decided to raise the price.

I don't think it was the ETH statement. We all knew they wouldn't fork anyways .

they saw an opportunity as public views it as "cheap". another one is vitalik dont give a shit. now bitmain gives you that :troll:

They made it look like it was a typo but it was never a typo, it was greedy, the truth is they updated the price to look like a typo
after the eth dev meeting. bitmain is close to have 51% attack on eth network. If it happens to eth then it will teach eth devs a lesson but i believe bitmain will not do it cause they got the green light from eth devs to keep using their f3. I believe that is why eth devs did not want to change, afraid bitmain 51% attack. eth devs deep know they cant counter the f3 which is 10x the hashrate of the e3 and because of that hashrate and since bitmain and co hold all eth asics yet, is easy to do the 51% attack.
