Actually, I think when I posted that earlier, they weren't sold out, they just were not accepting BTC so you couldn't order them. I suspect they became live on the site once they started accepting BTC again and sold out very fast.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
Yes. I'd like to add that it is also important to notice that difficulty keeps rising.

So in short: there is no universal answer when it comes to the ROI.

The are sold out.
How many days is ROI for such an antminer S9?

When I look at what to mine its very long more than 1 Year with my electricity costs.

Determining ROI is tricky because it includes a lot of variables like cost of electricity. coinwarz.com is a good tool to use in determining ROI. Another factor to consider is the fact that your money will be tied up with BITMAIN for two months before you can start chipping away at earning it back so I would go ahead and add two months to whatever your ROI calculations give you to account for the time between payment and delivery.

In case anyone missed it, Bitmain opened sales for a 14TH/s S9 shipping between October 10-20 listed at $1141 (before shipping / customs fees / etc...). I'm pretty sure this is the only batch since batch 1 to reach 14TH/s.

Looks sold out already.

I think you are correct, the last batch was 13.5 th/s going for $1099, this batch is about 50 bucks more and you get another half a terahash. It really sucks tying up money for 2 months with these preorders. I understand from a business perspective its nice, but it totally sucks for the end user.

Has anyone else had issues with Bitmain receiving their Wire payments recently? I placed an order on July 13 and Bitmain hasn't acknowledged payment or even replied to my support requests. I can imagine they are very busy, but when a customer sends a large sum of money they should let us know if it's paid.

Any idea's on how I can get their attention?

I'm in BTC XTC
I used to work in commerce, totally close enough for drop off or pickup!  Of course malfunctioning droid R4B4 was in the mines, not here at home.

#2....that doesnt matter. like i said newer firmware required all 3 spaces for all 3 pools in the config page. so what works for 1 firmware doesnt always work for the later firmware which is why i mentioned this specifically.

#3....so even when the miner was reset and the default info was left that bitmain sets manually in the firmware it wouldnt mine? no static ip no pool info except the default info that gets entered when the miner gets reset right??

also does the log file show the boards as being detected?? and have u tried using the latest firmware for that miner??

I'm going to go back and run some checks.  I'll let you know

I ended up talking the good boards and putting in the miner with the bad PCB.  I have my full miner back and a dead miner.

that works too lol. if your in the us you should send the boards in to be looked at and repaired/replaced. its way cheaper than buying a new miner and you dont end up with a paper weight of a miner like you have now.

Where is announcement for NEW D3 dash miner ?
Hmm, I dunna know... Perhaps in the ALTCOIN sections where it would belong?

i was considering buying a few of these d3 miners but the listing had 0 info and they worded it as dashcoing and not dash which are 2 completely different coins all together so i never picked any up Sad. oh well though...the diff is gonna shoot way up on dash and already went up something like 300% at the time they listed the d3 for sale so i guess its for the best.

Given the current amount these things make, and the delayed shipping, and the huge diff jumps we are still seeing, and the price, I can't believe anyone is still buying.  I have one from Jan that I am still wondering about hitting ROI ever.  The income is a trickle and that is not factoring electricity at all.

In fact here is what a 13.6 S9 is pulling in for me for a weeks worth of mining going back for the past 4 weeks.  So those totals are the amount it made for the previous week of mining.

Sat 6/17         0.03983259
Sat 6/24         0.03746030
Sat 7/1           0.03617634
Sat 7/8           0.03455305

I still have .47 BTC for this one to ROI (disregarding electrical costs) which is almost exactly what a new one costs right now.  Diff is about to jump 14% today.  So even if diff stayed static after that I am looking at about 0.02971562 per week so still 15.8 weeks to ROI, so just call it 4 months.  Basically this machine will be mining for a full year to ROI, if it ever even does.

With this kind of math why would anyone buy an S9 now?  I regret buying this one from back in Jan.

so you purchased one in Jan  correct?

Jan 15th coins were 840
July 19th coins are  2216

let us say you spent 2 btc  on jan 15th   that would be 1680 usd

what did it earn back at 10 cent power 2000 usd   so you are ahead in usd.

now if you held  the 2 coins  you would be at  2 coins  but the 1680 usd would be 4472 usd

but if you held the coin  until today you would regret that you did not sell  them at 2997 each or 5994

then buy back when they dropped to 1830 the other day.  giving you 3.275 coins

all three cases above you made cash  you regret that you only made 200-300 so far.

you could sell the machine right now for 1000

this would put you at 3000 cash which is up from 1680 cash in January

vs 4472 cash  which is up from 1680 cash in january

vs 7323 cash which is up from 1680 cash in january.

I understand your point, but someone in January could not have know that there would be a massive dip. Your scenario is a lot luck-based.

Also, I do not like to count in dollars, but rather in bitcoins, as this is has a constant value of 1:1. In term of bitcoins, which scenario is the best ?
