That one that says you owe duties is not from the package location, so it isn't actually almost at your house.  Look back at the full tracking info Philip posted.  You see the one early in the process where it listed the destination and then said "The receiver must pay the duties or taxes due on the package."  That's what you are seeing.  I am suspecting that they already landed in Anchorage and tracking hasn't been updated yet.

Edit: It is 1:30PM in Anchorage now and my guess is that when the Anchorage scans appear they will have a time stamp prior to this time.

Two of my miners are just a few miles from my house. The 3rd one is in limbo between China and Alaska lol.

Are you saying I should unplug the ribbon cable from the far right board and plug it into the open connector (far right using your orientation)?

Maybe yes.  Just to be very clear you would not disconnect the ribbon cable on the hashboard end, you would disconnect it on the controller board end and then plug it in to the open port on the controller board.  And yes the right side board as viewed from the front.

EDIT: I'm sure you probably understood me correctly I just don't want to be responsible for giving advice that causes someone to do something crazy like running a control ribbon between two ports on the control board and frying a very expensive miner.

Yes, I understand. I did not try that yet.

After trying to flash with the new 600Mhz firmware and having it fail, I reset to default settings, then lowered the freq to 587Mhz and it has been running stable for a little over an hour with no crazy readings.
I'll let it run for an hour more and if stable, will try to bump it back to 600Mhz and see what happens.

I'll update and post a screen shot in an hour or so.
Thanks for your assistance.  Smiley

The HW errors don't look like a problem but that reported hashrate sure does.  You might try swapping where the hash board is connected on the controller board.  My B3 has 4 connectors on the control board so there is an extra and I have seen another post where someone else said theirs did too.  Looking down at the unit from the top with the intake fan pointing towards you (what I would call the front) I believe that bottom chain in the GUI should be the right hand board.

I think I see what you are saying on my miner.

Are you saying I should unplug the ribbon cable from the far right board and plug it into the open connector (far right using your orientation)?

I tried to flash with 600Mhz firmware and it error'd out. Said it was a bad file. So I reset.

I will watch it closely for a few and see what it does.

If it goes crazy again, I will try your suggestion.

Thank you.

Hi,
Just put a new S9 batch 3 online.
All was running well for about 25 minutes. Then board 3 4 started throwing lots of HW errors and below is the result. I quickly pulled the power.
I'm using a Bitmain 240 PSU that was running well on an S7. It also had hardware temp issues running on two HP PSU's.

Any ideas?
Don't really want to flash the firmware, but if it's what I have to do, I will.  Angry  Angry Huh Huh Angry Angry Huh Huh

You have the same time stamps as me and Philip.  Although I do not have the final "Your package was released by the clearing agency." yet.  My guess is that the clearing agency stuff happened yesterday and wasn't entered into the computer and they are all on the same flight to Alaska which left Shenzhen at 7:26 or so last night (Shenzhen time).  I checked my last S9 tracking and it was about 7 or 8 hours between the time it took off from Shenzhen and landed in Alaska so according to my calculations it should probably show up in Alaska in the next 2 to 3 hours.

I think you are correct. I'm crossing all my fingers for a tomorrow delivery.

There is a slim possibility it has left for Alaska.  But it's slim.  Normally we would get a message that it has cleared customs before it leaves.

I had nothing but trouble with the new firmware 24th June 2016, so I reverted back to the original firmware 8th June 2016
Board 1 ran with a low hash rate, ~2-3Th/s.
Back to the original firmware and everything is normal.

I have S9 batch 2.
I'm mining at Kano CKPool.

I tried the new firmware too and saw no improvement for my B3.  However, I took the plunge and installed the low voltage firmware and it helped.  I was getting about 12.6 total hashrate at 587 Freq.  I have one board which just doesn't get up to speed a lot of the time so underclocking it helps.  At 587 I was getting 4150, 4200, 4200 roughly from the boards.  With the low voltage firmware I am running at freq 600 and getting 4150, 4300, 4300 so an improvement of 200 Gh/s (like adding an S1 for free).  Fewer HW errors too.

Meanwhile my batch 4 may have skipped the clearing agency phase; I have never seen that before.  Last notes are an export scan and then a departure scan.  Usually wouldn't see an export scan until after the clearing agency step and that step never happened (or at least it was never noted on the tracking page if it did).

are you like this:

Shenzhen, China   06/30/2016   7:26 P.M.   Departure Scan
06/30/2016   6:07 P.M.   Export Scan
06/29/2016   2:57 P.M.   The package is awaiting clearing agency review. / The package is at the clearing agency awaiting final release.
Shenzhen, China   06/29/2016   10:55 P.M.   Arrival Scan
06/29/2016   10:52 P.M.   Departure Scan
06/29/2016   7:53 P.M.   Origin Scan
06/29/2016   4:21 P.M.   Pickup Scan
China   06/29/2016   10:54 P.M.   Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Yes but minus the clearing agency part:

Quote from: UPS
Shenzhen, China    06/30/2016    7:26 P.M.    Departure Scan
   06/30/2016    6:09 P.M.    Export Scan

Looks like we both have the same time on almost all of our scans too.  There is usually another clearing agency notification in Alaska.  That one usually just goes by quickly without any issues, now I wonder if that one is to catch packages that didn't get it done at the point of origin.  Or like I said, maybe they just didn't update it in the tracking but it still happened as usual.

Alaska is the point mine got hung up last time.

Got my 2 s9s today, but one is not working Sad

Cannot find a manual on the website, was trying to do a factory reset so I can make sure it is defective.  Came on for 15 minutes, then went offline.  Temperature was fine, now just a flashing FAULT light.

Does anyone know how to do a reset on this model so I can try this before requesting a RMA?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Incanus,

Thanks for choosing Bitmain.

Please inform us details of your issue at support.bitmain.com and one of our customer support reps will be happy to resolve your issue ASAP.

We wish you a happy mining experience,

the Bitmain team

Status update:

After 5 days of talking with Quentin via email we are no closer to a solution.

The day I posted here, I went to Bitmain's website and read that for people who can repair their own machines, they can order parts.  The BB board listed said to state what model you are repairing as it needs to be programmed correctly, so I placed an order for an 1/0 and a BB board, seeing that S9 wasn't listed on the parts, but that they still haven't put the manual for the S9 up either, so I figured they had not updated the website.  I stated CLEARLY on the order that I needed S9 parts, that I had a defective S9 and that once I was able to determine which board was bad, or both for that matter, I would request a RMA and return it for a replacement, keeping whatever returned as a spare part.  Makes sense from my end as I lose more money being offline than the cost of the parts.  I get a order confirmation and it is sent out and then I get a message from Quentin that they don't have S9 parts for sale.  SO what is on the way to me, I still have not gotten an answer, I cannot give a screenshot as it doesn't even appear on my network (so there is nothing to navigate to) NOW my new batch 3 miner is down.  Out of 3 I have only 1 working.  One of the hashcards is not working and I have uploaded a screenshot of it, but we are now at 5 days and Quentin doesn't seem to understand what is going on.  HELP.  Do I take delivery and see if the parts are right?  He will not answer me.

Status update:

Over 13 days now and no end in sight.

On the plus side, one miner seemed to have a short in the control board due to it not being seated in the chassis properly, it is now up and running.  But the original problem miner has a bad control board and I have been waiting 3 days for a reply about replacing it.  Anyone else have problems with customer service from Quentin?  Since I told them it was the control board, don't you think that 13 days is a bit long to figure that out on Bitmain's end?  It really makes me reconsider doing any further business with them.  I was even willing to PAY for parts instead of going thru this warranty bull, because I knew it would get me up faster and not cost me lost income from having a paperweight on my bench.

                   06/29/2016    10:52 P.M.    Departure Scan
                   06/29/2016    7:52 P.M.    Origin Scan
                   06/29/2016    4:21 P.M.    Pickup Scan
China            06/29/2016    10:54 P.M.    Order Processed: Ready for UPS

This is SOP for UPS. It arrives and departs Shenzhen at least twice, often more.  Probably just being transferred back and forth to customs within the same facility.  We should know more in the AM.  But Friday is starting to look doubtful.
