Interesting..
Bitmain already has some kind of plans for going into 10nm process and even into 7nm process.

This picture was released at Bitmain's Facebook page in 22th June 2016:

Well it is in print..   on a poster on in the photo.

I know that looks good.
I know the time frame is what's in question.
I know right now  they have working 0.1 watt per gh gear.

So  they may do a new version of it at .075 watts in 9 months.

Then they may go for the 10nm in 18 months.  I do not see a working 10nm in under 27 months.

But only a guess on my part.

I am with you on this one.  I do not see a new breakthrough model(10nm) for another 2-3 years.

An improved s-9 type chip size 16nm  is more likely to come in  6-9 months  maybe  12-15 months since no one has any .09 watt gear to push them to improve.

Hmmm... So when did AntPool start looking at Eth and LTC??? https://www.antpool.com/home.htm

They see Eth as a threat to them  and are using an ancient Roman method of allowing slaves and conquered to become citizens of the empire.

My analysis points to a big spike in Eth mining after the ½ ing.  So why not have Eth as a pool of yours.

I did not do any LTC since it can use asics.

A 4 card eth rig with newest rx 480 miners should be able to do 85mh at 400 watts  and this makes it better then the s-9  after the ½ ing.

Yes, it works now in Nicehash.
File System Version - Fri Jun 24 16:25:13 CST 2016

3xS9 (650M)=45.51 TH/s

But today I prefer Antpool with first S9 software -  Fri Jun 24 16:25:13 CST 2016

why ?

Because the majority of my 10 and 2/3 x S9 B1  working in Antpool at speed 13.9 THs
only three of them are 13.5THs-13.7THs as with old and with  the new software.

There was a time I would have considered with Nicehash a big deal. But it's just not like the old day's with coins launching and huge profit's, now they pay very little over and sometimes under.  And consider their fee "NiceHash charges a processing fee from each party of hash rate trade (buyers and sellers) made through the service. Currently our fee is set at 3%."

I think there are MUCH better options out there with pools to mine, Antpool is one of them to mine with over nicehash.   I see people using Antpoool, Kano.is, F2, BTCC, slush, etc much more often then going to nicehash.

ah Bitmain finally put up the  new firmware so the S9 will work with NICEHASH. Except when you try to use p=? and the password line!!! at least you can hash now.

Which of them do you mean ?

https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=00720160628032419599ebY2YSlj06DE

All of them you just have to match the  ? MHZ located on your S9 hash board and download the one that matches your miner. 500 , 600 , 650 MHZ depending which one you have.

Hmm. Still, looking at the next nodes makes sense and now is the time to start playing with ideas that could take advantage of what those noes could offer. Emphasis on 'could'.

That is then followed by when will the 10/7nm nodes be viable for mass production of ANY chip? My crystal ball says, "Not for a minimum of 3 years away".

Has anyone tried to switch the stock fans of the S9, with Noctua F12 3000 RPM? If you can share thought or even results?

it will not work.  do not try it.

I tried it on the s-5 no go and on the s-7.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/12-in-x-25-ft-Insulated-Flexible-Duct-R6-Silver-Jacket-F6IFD12X300/100182573

put it in the duct above.

lower clock to 500 manually set fans to 60%

watch your temps  65- 95 is good

so if you are too hot lower clock to 475.  good luck

Is this helping with the noise? and what is your ambient temp?

this did wonders for my s-7's running in my garage last winter.
my current setup does not use these as I am partners in a solar array. I provide the miners buy solar provides the power

current s-9 and solar array

To find my s-7 sound proofing threads will take time.
