Good opportunity for anyone trying to buy at a low cost. If bitcoin goes back to $20,000 these things will sell for twice as much so it's a good time to buy if you have a low cost of electricity.

T9+ seems useless, uses more power for 25% less hashrate.

Sold out again, just now. I'm in the US, northeast, can anybody lay out for me what additional expenses I can expect? Shipping, customs, etc. I read the thread, there's some conflicting information in there, especially the ups hostage taking thing, which I understand seems random, but the rest of it I'd love to see it laid out in simple terms. If anyone familiar has the time. Please and thank you.
You need PSU - $105
Shipping ~$140 per unit
Customs depends how many units you buy. If you buy under $2,500 should be no customs. Not sure how UPS charges but I paid ~$40 for 6 units as well as 1 unit (which was actually under $2,500). I think when you already in their system and it comes from the same location in China they will charge you even if it's under $2,500. Maybe somebody else had different experience?

They could've already manufactured these miners beforehand and they're just planning to dump them all in March. Considering difficulty is continuing to skyrocket and the price continues to fall, Bitmain could be doing this to prepare for the launch of a new miner. All speculation though.

Extremely curious to find out what their game plan is. Is it now a massive cash grab and them getting ready to shut down shop (extreme paranoia)? I don't get how they are going to ship tens of thousands of miners in March. L3+, multiple A3 batches, multiple S9 batches...

Actually it is an argument against what you've put forward here, you just don't seem to grasp the concept yet. We'll wait for you to figure it out.
Well, if you believe that insults and unfounded allegations can serve as arguments in a discussion you have already lost.
In a discussion you bring facts, figures and evidence to the table if you want to make your case.
Especially if you want to make predictions about the future and/or question someone else's!

I'm not telling anybody to do anything, I'm just pointing out what should be obvious.
Even without this spreadsheet, if you owned an S9 beginning of December as I did, the online calculators were predicting I'd make about 1BTC/year, if you look now it's half that! (which is in line with network hashrate doubling since then)
But back to my calculations.
Again, if you see any flaws or bad assumptions in what I am showing here, just point it out.

You're assuming that BTC stays around this price level. Many of us miners, feel that that stance, is flawed.
Yeah I think I've explained that in the long discussion I had after that first post.What I'm advocating for is selling your S9's now if you have them (and turning that money into BTC) or if you're about to buy one, don't, turn that money into BTC. Also, turn the money you would pay for power directly into BTC.
You'll be better off in the long run regardless of what BTC does as with the rate the network hashrate is growing, the amount of BTC your S9 will make is declining rapidly.

Thanks, I believe (and this is not based on numbers, just an educated guess), there will be a good opportunity to get back into the game in a few months time.Either when new hardware is available and/or when all those March batch S9's have come online and soon after get taken down again because of non-profitability and start flooding Ebay. There will be bargains to be made.

I have no skin in the mining game anymore,
But you obviously do, hence you’re reacting emotionally and ignoring the numbers.
If there is a flaw in my calculations or I’m basing them on wrong assumptions, please point this out specifically rather than make unfounded assertions/allegations, the spreadsheet is still available to download and what I’ve done is pretty straightforward.

Why are you still posting this everywhere? I don't get it. Did you build a huge farm somewhere and now you are trying to convince people not to buy miners because you made some random numbers (yes, for me its random numbers - nobody can know what the price and difficulty will be year from now)? Whats your point? Do you really think that people will stop mining/buying miners because of you made some "predictions" ?
Because I like to say "I told you so".
But seriously, if you look at what I posted, they are not "predictions" they are a best case scenario, worst case scenario and current trend scenario.
I'm just pointing out that what is happening is far worse than my original "worst case scenario".
