I doubt it. Yesterday's 1kBTC buy wall appeared a 1-1.5$ below market price and stayed there for more than 10 minutes. The selling pressure after the rally brought the price towards the wall and then started eating it.

I guess you mean "it's down". Still 250 BTC strong. Whoever put it made a large buy with no slippage thanks to the predictable force downwards after the rally. Quite smart person.

I doubt it. I guess that person put an "instant" order, which is not the same as mtgox's market order: it puts the order at market price and then moves it every 10 minutes. I guess it's the same person who is selling now. If you want cheap coins, sell all now and put an order where that wall will end.

edit: it's gone. Someone bought it.

Hmm normally Bitstamp is around the same price as Gox...what's up with it lately? Not enough trading?

ya normally i have bitcoinity up with two tabs, one on gox in white and Bitstamp in black. they are normally close but bitstamp is mostly about a dollar or two behind but lately ive seen nothing but 5+ on there up to ten at one time.

Where do you see the "walls" at and their quantity?

you can see them on the order book tab on BITSTAMP. the graph just above all the orders, mouse over and you can see how many btc it will take to get to whatever price is indicated at the bottom of graph.

or just go to bitcoinity.org and select the BITSTAMP exchange tab. you can curently see another large wall at 146 even.

agreed! the price is 131.88 and the price on gox is 137.12   Shocked

WOW that is a good amount of spread, maybe even enough to get the arbitrator to make money of if it.

The trick with arbitration is you need to move the FIAT somehow. Doing a SEPA withdraw from Bitstamp, then sepa transfer to gox, isn't much of arbitration. You need to keep a lot of money and coins on both exchanges. I'm sure someone is doing it, but.....

ya im not, just saying that the diff is big

as in now! wow 134.75 on stamp and 140.58 and climbing on gox. almost six dollar diff. wow!

oh 141 on gox Smiley over six dollars now

600 coin wall to take down, or to look at it differently you can have cheep coins compared to gox guaranteed for at least 600 coins.

2270 coins to get to 140 on stamp. wow and gox is knocking on the door of 140, interesting.

also if you want every exchange to fail and all of us to just use gox and have gox fuck up then keep being negative.  for people who belive in bitcoins you sure want it to be centralized and have one company control it. now that is so fucking sad.  Roll Eyes

Yes its sad that such lowball services get to the percent of the market share that it did. It wouldn't if there was a better option. This one is joke for any semi-serious player.

They also have a buggy trading engine, fucked up orderbook,

I've noticed the bid is sometimes higher than the ask. What is with that?

Thats just one of the idiotisms that you will meet using it.

ok you dislike bitstamp thats fine but what exchange do you like? no not gox but another one. tell me why you like it and the good and the bad about it as well. maybe even start your own thread tracking THAT exchange  Shocked
