What this has to do with fraud?
Thanks.

Wait. What?
God, I hope they don't mean it for existent pre-2014 orders.

Dear Black Arrow LTD, can we get some clarification here on cloud mining starting date please?

I.M.O.
If you ordered Cloud mining in 2013 and it's paid for,you will be fine. Remember the Minions used for "Rent" and those for building X-1/X-3 all come from the same "Batch" of chips.
When the delivery date changed to Mar/10,so did the "Rental" date. This new date would apply to those wanting to place an order now.

I've been following this thread simply because everything to this point seems a bit too good to be true

It depends on how/when you paid, but even for those of us who paid in BTC when it was over $1000/BTC, making ROI looks sketchy.

Everything has to go perfect - the difficulty has to plateau and they have to ship by the end of March. Thats for us to break even.

The mining game is effectively dead for those who are not a pool operator, mining hardware manufacturer, or 3rd party reseller.

There are tons of spaces to make money in the Bitcoin world. Its a huge, open field right now. Go out and play.

If you stay in the mining game in 2014 as a little guy, you will get crushed.

Why be a little guy alone? Get together with others and POOL your resources.

There are many other coins that can be mined with ASICs, and then traded, or they might become something in their own right. This is not a one dimensional game.
This is true but those who don't have a mining machine don't have to wait until April, May or June 2014 to buy a SHA or Scrypt mining machine but can do it now in different ways. There are solutions to start mining in few days... I am working on this and will have all ready in about 1-2 weeks, then will share it in a new post :-)

If you narrow that to purely bitcoin mining, I still think it's untrue, but you at least have good data.

PPC is the other viable currency using SHA256 but even that difficulty has been skyrocketing in the past few days.  If BA can hit their dates, it'll be a narrow ROI, any miss and it's a gamble at that point.

"Minion driver is now available
We have completed the first version of the driver for the Minion and submitted it into cgminer.

This driver has been tested and certified on FPGA.

After several months of tests we have concluded that in order to achieve the best efficiency with our code, the Minion will have to run at 1.01Ghz. For this reason we have increased the number of cores from 64 to 99."

99 cores?  WTF kind of number is that?  Make it 96 or 128.

Anyhow, what I originally came here to ask BA is: When do you currently expect tapeout to happen?

Does this mean the minion/x-1 will be overclockable to 150gh/s?

From the blackarrow forums...

Normally, we expect 20-30% overclocking capability. Note that this is not supported or advertised officially because we cannot guarantee it."

Hmm, I wonder if they should change the post title?  Nothing on their site shows a $1.49/Ghash.  Even if you buy over 1000 chips, you still pay over $1.49/Ghash and the two miners are at least twice that.  Maybe they should base that on the retail price instead of the initial discounted price that you can no longer get.

I've been following this thread simply because everything to this point seems a bit too good to be true but I do have high hopes (as I did with the Bi*Fury, Twin Fury and AntMiner).  As the prices continue to increase and delivery dates continue to move further and further away, it seems less likely these things will hit any of the hype.  If the past gives us any clue, as we approach the end of February, I suspect we will start seeing the delays and excuses roll out from Black Arrow instead of completed miners as they build their mining farms with their new Minions paid for by all the Lemmings here.  Of course I hope I'm wrong and these actually get into the hand of those who paid for them, the next few weeks will tell us for sure.

I have my seatbelt on. Wink

I appreciate the update. I assume increasing the number of dies means tapeout has not been completed. 56 days until the end of February.

If BA pulls this off I will be very impressed. I am rooting for them with my money and my hopes.

Go Black Arrow!

There is no competition dude
What can be bought today will never make back in terms of BTC Roi, what can be bought tomorrow (mounts later) same shit

Quick and dirty calc may diff will be around 13,824,412,552
so even at $1.49/Ghash you are not breaking even
F...K

Thats a pretty outrageous prediction. How do you come up with that?

100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash
That means $149 per this one ASIC?!
I do not see any product of this price on their site..?!
How can this be possible and true?
Sorry for my misunderstanding and thanks for clarifying and... clearance!  Smiley

Nah that is 1.49 USD per 1 gigahash.
Actually now that i look, im not sure which product $1.49/gigahash pertains to.

There is an option at BA for OEMs to buy Minions only,to use for what ever they wish or build their own miners (http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/minion.html)
The old price was $149. 1 Minion is capable of 100 GH/s which equaled $1.49 per GH/S

The X-1 for example has 1 Minion =100GH/s ( given the recent update they may need to put in two underclocked to get to 100GH/s)
