yes 1% is the 400,000 pre-mined coins amount.
And as you say you never believe in working for free, if i post the Premine address, i will have a flood of people asking what it has been spent on. Yes i have profited some BTC from it, and have spent a load on compensation, plenty of people will confirm this.

The Foundation amount i will be totally open about, the address is BKqAh5ojyS7bkjaDHJEWXxMwKNUvUsNZak and there is currently 111647 ballance in the wallet. this will still be used for long term support and running costs..

Listen if this coin really does take off, do you think all the people that will need to be involved will work for free? i dont think so...

For a 4% premine and no site or promotion: What are the running costs and where is the promotion?
And where is the developing? The code hasn't been touched in 9 days...

Read up on this page (58) where mammix2 mentions all his running costs. The coin had to be relaunched and the old miners reimbursed for their lost hashes, a few other things too you can read yourself.

I am a bit hesitant to invest since its already up over 500% since 2 days ago. What is the potential of this coin?

well, look at XC
500% is nothing Cheesy

I dont know if its comparable to XC. XC has a unique anon feature and is much more rare at around 5m after mining is over. Lets stick to boost.. what is the benefit of x13 and why should investors buy this coin right now?

I will try my best to explain why X13 is a really amazing feature to have right now. I suppose everyone knows the story about bitcoins "SHA-256" algorithm and how ASICS were specially designed for the sole purpose of mining it which made GPU miners obsolete and sent them on an uphill battle to try and stay profitable. Then we have litecoin and 100's of other alts' "Scrypt" algorithm which is also in serious danger of becoming centralized by Scrypt ASICS so GPU miners will be made redundant again. The cryptocommunity answered this problem with X11. But now that X11 has been around for a while (Some might say years in altcoinworld) and the market is becoming more and more saturated with X11 coins, ASIC engineers are surely working on X11 ASICS, which have been rumoured and are pretty likely in development seeing as its sooo damn profitable. This is another threat in the form of centralization again and we cannot wait for that to happen before trying to respond.

Furthermore we all have noticed this "evolution" (for lack of a better word) into POS coins. POS has become a more and more popular characteristic of alt-coins and it will continue to do so I think . POS provides ultra cheap mining compared to POW and isn't threatened by ASICs of any sort, it also attributes scarcity and incentive which are desirable for investors. However, pure POS is undesirable IMO as it is much much less secure than POW making it more open to attacks. Not to mention that is hard to create a fair distribution with pure POS coins.

Finally we get to Boostcoin which combines the security of POW + value of POS. Using X13 chain-hashing through 13 algorithms (2 more than X11) its amazingly secure and I'd be willing to hazard a bet that it's in no danger of being exploited by ASICS at least for 2014; X13 is also super efficient and your GPU will run nice and cool. Oh and did I mention POS 10 % interest? Wink

Now taking into consideration that the dev has stated he will look into considering anon after POW - I would watch Boost carefully. Great potential.

Too bad it won't mine on Nvidia or older Radeon cards like HD5850 etc

I don't think so man. BTW it is like pulling teeth trying to get help around here or on the SPH-SGMiner page.

i really love to mine this coin but when i tried i got less hash like 1mhs for my 7970, what i have to consider mining this coin? im having catalyst 13.6, using the latest 13xmod miner, any help guys

Have you followed all the tips on here?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6978692

followed all the steps but still no success i got only 1.05mhs using 13xmod , but when mining drk i got 2.7mhs using 11xmod miner

try using the other miner here. this is what i use..
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-sph-sgminer-multi-coin-multi-algorithm-gpu-miner-added-marucoin-475795

Also don't forget, you will get lower speeds with x13 as there is more processing to do

i see so you think its normal for having only 1mhs on my 7970?

15 coins every block how does that work out ? i could be wrong but seems like that jumps your premine from 1% to 4%

Finally another one who sees this Smiley

From my previous post.

hey dev do you wish to comment on the following?

Whats the exact number of coins PREMINED? 1% of total coins?

1% of 40M is 400,000. Add to that 15 from every block which equates to 43200 x 15 = 648,000.

Making a grand total of 1,048,000

So ...
Premine has so far been used for paying back a lot of compensation for the coins lost before relaunch (Yes i'm a dev who actually does that!!), and for promotional stuff.
the foundation has so far been used to employ 2 PR members, which are doing an awesome job!

Dont forget that the foundation doesn't get 15 from every single block created. Any orphan blocks or ones created when the wallet is offline do not end up in the wallet. Also i posted about the OSX wallet recently? yes the foundation coins were in there for a while and as a result lost some... during the problems...

Im trying to be as open about all of this as possible. All i want is for this coin to be successful and for everyone to enjoy being a part of it.

Fair enough. I never believed in working for free. But you still haven't said how many premined coins? 1% of what number?

Can you post the addresses of the premined coins?

yes 1% is the 400,000 pre-mined coins amount.
And as you say you never believe in working for free, if i post the Premine address, i will have a flood of people asking what it has been spent on. Yes i have profited some BTC from it, and have spent a load on compensation, plenty of people will confirm this.

Point taken. I do wish this coin all the best.
