After the controversial first fight, we expect a rematch to happen soon, and we're glad that it will happen right away without either fighter taking another fight with other fighters.
I hope Bivol can even fight and win by decision so we'll have a trilogy. This time I favor Bivol to win the fight. There's distractions on his last fight, like the divorce settlement; by now he is focused on this fight. I see this fight lasting the distance with Bivol winning the fight because of fresh legs; I just feel that Beterbiev will show eventually and possibly in this fight.

For those who want to see the numbers in the first fight and how close it is,

https://www.boxingscene.com/compubox-stats-artur-beterbiev-dmitry-bivol--186425

So in the first six rounds, Bivol numbers is very high and as expected, he is more of the volume puncher.

But in the second half, Beterbiev switch to beast mode and so he increased his attack and power punches to hurt Bivol and that might be enough for the judges to score the fight for him.

Still very close though, that's why a rematch is needed in February 22.

There is not much to separate them. They both have strengths and weaknesses that counter each other perfectly. Beterbiev has the power advantage but Bivol makes up for it with volume and landing cleaner punches. If they go the distance, the decision will once again be very debatable, but it cannot be considered a robbery when the final stats are so close.

And it's hard to interpret the numbers, although it might not lie, but I have read the it might not be as accurate as it sounds. And I thought that Beterbiev really did good in the championship rounds but base on the numbers still very close to me.

For sure, I will tend to believed that this fight is going to distance again. Bivol hasn't been knockout before and it shows in the last fight although he lost and admit to it post fight interview. But on the other hand, Beterbiev also admitted that he is not satisfied with this win.

But if we want to see a clear winning, it's either Beterbiev by KO, and Bivol having the performance that he displayed against Canelo Alvarez.

If anyone is going to defeat Artur Beterbiev, it has to be Dmitry Bivol. At the age of 40, Beterbiev has scored 20 knockouts from 21 fights so far. The only time he didn't got the KO, Bivol was at he other end. That said, the loss to Beterbiev should be disappointing for Bivol. It was his first defeat in 24 matches. Anyway the good thing for Bivol is that the fight is happening in Saudi Arabia. After he defeated Canelo Álvarez in 2022, Bivol didn't received any money, as he is a Russian citizen and the American authorities blocked the money transfer. In Saudi, I don't think that he will face any similar issues.

This fight will be more tougher for Bivol because his weakness was discovered by Beterbiev. Bivol bettors can wish only that he will have the correct adjustments for this rematch. I reckon the correct adjustment might be to become a boxer very much similar to the goat of boxing Muhammad Ali and dance like a butterfly around Beterbiev. However, I speculate that the adjustment that Bivol might do will be to try to become the Joker who is an immovable object against Batman's unstoppable force. This is very dangerous for Bivol because his jaw will be exposed for Beterbiev to give a knockout pants.
AFAIK, the first fight was very close. so if Beterbiev had discovered Bivol’s weakness, he could have knocked him out, but that didn’t happen. On the other hand, we can also say that Bivol might have discovered Beterbiev’s weakness, which could give him a chance to win this time.

Judging by the first fight, I still believe this will be another close contest if it goes to the judges’ scorecards again. At this point, if we’re betting, it’s best to go with who we think has the edge. Besides, the odds for both fighters are quite attractive.

Is that your argument? If Beterbiev did not discover Bivol's weakness on being pressured if Beterbiev did not knockout the head of Bivol? This is very headshaking.

Bivol is very much weak when his opponent can keep the very close distance and pressuring him to move backward. This was something similar to Canelo's tactics, however, Bivol was very much strong for Canelo. He is not strong against Beterbiev.

This has been my argument for this rematch. If Bivol cannot float like butterfly and fly from Beterbiev, he will be in panic on the rope and his jaw might be exposed if he will fight Beterbiev in the pocket.

Yes, it will be interesting as to what weaknesses Beterbiev have discovered? Bivol was dominating him in the first couple of rounds. So again, did he see that Bivol doesn't have a good defense, or simply that he see Bivol getting tired late?

Right, the odds says it all, although this time is is Beterbiev that is the slight favorite. But still this rematch could be very close just like the last one and it's going to be very hard to judge again as the pattern might be same, Bivol started early and then Beterbiev catching in the last couple of rounds.

The rematch would be in favor of Bivol somehow. Beterbiev would be 40 by then. Just like in their first match, many would say age is a huge factor. Beterbiev might prove them wrong once more. This man is terrific. He looks sturdy and solid despite the age.

Odds now favor Beterbiev. But let's see how Bivol will do in the rematch, again his volume in the first 6 rounds as outstanding. Maybe he will just have to sustained it throughout so that he can outscored Beterbiev this time.

Odds in this rematch favor Beterbiev only because of the result of their first fight. It was the other way around in their first match. The stats somehow favored Bivol and so he turned out the favorite. Things have changed now. It was clear Beterbiev could actually fight toe to toe against Bivol. It was clear the much older man can actually compete with the younger opponent. Bivol had a smaller gas tank compared to his 39-year old opponent.

But, yeah, if Bivol sustained his performance in the opening rounds, that fight was his.

That bolded statement, if Bivol could have sustained his numbers in the first 6 rounds, Beterbiev might not steal this one for him. The problem is that after the 6 rounds, his performance or at least his volume punching goes down and then Beterbiev asserting himself and that what could be judge seeing.

We all know that he has a tremendous stamina, but we don't know what happened to him, specially in the championship rounds that his punches started to decline and the Beterbiev doubling his power punching output.

Good luck to this bet of yours on Bivol hehehe. However, I am very much afraid that Beterbiev has the tactic to win against Bivol. This is to always be near Bivol and do not give Bivol the proper distancing where he can begun an attack. This type of pressure from Beterbiev is certainly very difficult to defend as everyone has already witnessed on their fight before.

But if Bivol has watched the movie Rocky 3, he might learn something from this where he was trained by a new trainer who was very much given Rocky a similar style with Muhammad Ali. If Bivol will have this type of footwork, he might win hehehehe.

Both fighters will make adjustments for the rematch, even though Beterbiev won the first fight. It was close, and Bivol could have taken the victory. So, I expect we’ll see some strategic changes this time around.

I still believe this fight will go to a decision because both fighters are incredibly durable. This might be the toughest fight of Beterbiev’s career, as all his previous wins were by KO before the first fight. I thought Bivol had the edge to win, but it didn’t turn out that way, so the rematch should be an interesting battle.

I'm not sure if Bivol was exposed in this fight, we can debate that he could have won the first fight. It will still be the same tactics, but he should be careful on the second half of the fight and not to be over confident. I think that's the mistakes of Bivol in the latter stage of the match. He might have thought that he had clearly dominated the first half and then just in cruise control of the second.

Nevertheless, it will still be very exciting and entertaining fight. Even the ML is already attracted to us. Bivol will just have to keep phase of that volume and not allow Beterbiev to control specially the last couple of rounds which is very important for him.

I see a different result on this rematch. With Bivol being the younger fighter, he will have a grasp on how to beat Beterbiev, Turki believes that Bivol won the fight, so this is a match that he needs to redeem or prove that he is a better fighter. Let's admit it, Beterbiev is not getting younger; one of his fights will eventually show his age, and this next fight could possibly be the fight that will show it.

I'll go with Bivol, I have bet on him the last time, and I thought he won that fight as the numbers don't lie. But as what we said, boxers shouldn't let the fight go to the judges hand and so in this case, it's true as I think that Bivol was robbed.

Nevertheless, he has a second chance, and I do think that this time he will do enough to win and will continue to throw volume punches. I remember there were one round wherein he throws like 10-12 combos and some of them hit Beterbiev and put him on the ropes.

It's official, we will see the rematch between Bivol and Beterbiev next year in February, and we all know that during their first fight, it was a big controversial as Artur Beterbiev def. Dmitry Bivol via majority decision (114-114, 115-113, 116-112). At least personally for me, I saw it as a draw, as Bivol take the early charge but Beterbiev finishes strong. And so there were talks of a rematch and finally we will see it.
---
What are your thoughts on this rematch? Could Bivol avenge his defeat?
After that controversial win coming from Beterbiev, I guess we already knew that a rematch is indeed needed, and here it is. Smiley
Like you, I also saw it as a draw or if there would be a winner, it would be Bivol.

The undercard is also stacked up on this fight. We see Dubois defending his belt, Shakur again fighting some unknown guy, Madrimov getting a revenge win after a loss against Crawford, Zhang continuing his streak after winning against Wilder and Smith coming back yet again.

On Razed, Bivol had the higher odds. On their first fight, it's the opposite. Maybe the win on Beterbiev is the reason why many are betting on him yet again. I'll go on Bivol on this one, or maybe a draw? Cheesy Knockout incoming? Cheesy

It's the same as the first fight, initially Beterbiev was the favorite, but when the fight was postponed because of Beterbiev suffering a injury, the odds shift to Bivol. However, we all know that Beterbiev won that fight, although a bit controversial, but a win is win.

And HE Turki promised a rematch and this is it. He loves this two fighters that's why there are no problems with the negotiations and it could be that the paycheck could be higher that the first fight. But nevertheless, I still no difference as I go with Beterbiev to win as this guy even at his age is still very strong.
Yes, winning is winning even though some people don't consider it win because both of them look even, even Bivol seems to be ahead in terms of points but the referee gave decision that was not like the assessment of the fans who watched the fight, maybe in the fight later Bivol can take revenge and really show an absolute victory that everyone recognizes.
I tend to try to favor Bivol even though Beterbiev is the favorite who is still considered capable of defeating Bivol, we see how the fight is resolved, what is clear is that Bivol will not repeat the same mistake and he will definitely try to get what should be his.

Beterbiev is the leading on this match I guess, this aspiring Bivol should strengthen his defense against Beterbiev because this guys was too tough and powerful. Based on his track record this man was really showing greater advantage, despite of their age gap though Bivol is younger than him that doesn't change the fact that more people and gamblers will pick Beterbiev based on odds.

Madrimov vs Vergil Ortiz could be a separate fight itself as this is going to be a war for sure.

We have seen Madrimov giving Bud Crawford his biggest test at 154 lbs and there are moments that Crawford was hit and I thought that he will go down. On the other hand, Ortiz is also another hard hitting and there are a lot of hype on him before. Although he had to stop because of illness and injuries, but it seems that he was able to get over that hump and back as another boxer that has a potential to be one of the best at 147-154 lbs.

What are your thoughts on this rematch? Could Bivol avenge his defeat?

I will be betting on Beterbiev in their rematch because I believe Arthur will make some adjustments, such as starting strong, unlike in the first fight where he was slow at the beginning. Although this will be another close match, I foresee the outcome remaining the same.

He is known to be a slow started though in his career, just like Canelo. That's why he might have lost the first 6 rounds to Bivol. And as we have seen that Bivol hands are quick in that first half because he hasn't taken any damage yet. But when Beterbiev started to make the adjustment midway on the fight and touching and hurting Bivol as some point, Bivol punch output has decline.

Beterbiev though might start like big or strong and not let Bivol take the usual volume punching here. If he does, then maybe we might see him getting a knockout. But Bivol has a solid chin as well and strong. But it's hard not to see Beterbiev getting a knockout if he just started throwing big bombs in the first couple of rounds and hit it's target and then later soften Bivol and go for the kill.
