Considering that this crisis would be over in April, venues would still be a problem? Boxing event in Las Vegas every weekend of June, that would be fun  Grin.

The thing is US can't even handle the spread of the virus, do they give some kind of ETA on when they'll be able to contain the virus?
Until now there's no vaccine yet, it's the only thing that would stop the spread of the virus, so I doubt this will be over by April, unless they'll give some explanation to us on the details on how they'll stop the spread and keep the people safe so their life will be back to normal.

Looks like this match will probably be pushed back until August or September at the earliest.

Remember, practically every sporting event has been postponed, this means the stadiums and venues used for these events are going to be in high demand in a few months.

I don't think this fight is big enough to warrant paying top dollar for the venue.

June is what Sean Gibbons (MP Promotions president) might be the new date of this match but i think you are right, this might be pushed to August or September. He just might be too optimistic that this corona virus crisis will be over soon, that's why he promised an earlier date.

I guess as boxing fans, we really need to wait, and for the boxers, keep themselves in top form until everything subsides. Of course, protect themselves at all cost because the spread in the US in uncontrollable at this point.

Well yeah, the spread is very fast, US from number 3 now already in the number 1 of the total people infected with the virus.
This is killing the economy and as long as it stays we will be in lock down and no game would happen.
Besides, it's not only boxing that was suspended, all games that would generate crowd.
There no other way to go but to have that complete lockdown.Yeah we do know on how much would affect the economy but we cant do anything
but to stop the spread of this virus. Its uncontrollable and i was surprised that US is already on the top 1 in rank for those who have most infected.
Games should be suspended yet these events would resume if everything goes back to normal but for now health or lives is priority first.

can't say right now, the venue is in the US and we've seen how the cases have balloon in the US.
They are now in the top 1 of the number of covid-19 cases, so I guess they'll to figure out first how to combat this virus then that's the only time we can speculate as to when the fight will happen.

Yes, until everything settles down in the US, I doubt that we can see any major sporting events being push this year unless the virus contamination has been contained or scientist have discovered a vaccine to stop the spread of the virus.

I doubt the boxing fight will be on May, the virus still will still be spreading by May.

I think May is not possible here as what you have said that the virus is still an issue but Top Rank is hinting that the fight will proceed in June. Let's be just optimistic on this date and BTW President Trump is promising that work and school will resume on Easter so let's pray for that.

I'm for Inoue. He knocked guys in a row.

He's the favorite to win the fight in the bookies but our guy Casimero is in the top level motivation-wise as he want to show to the boxing world that he is the real monster. Inoue got weakness also as it was exposed by Donaire and i just hope that Casimero will exploit that defeat the Japs.

Team Casimero is in Vegas already and just staying indoors doing the mitts and some things to avoid being burned out.

These two boxers claimed to be Monsters but in this times the real monster showed up and they're all hiding, the COVID-19  Grin.

Quote
WBO bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero is staying indoors in a rented house in Las Vegas, steps out only to buy provisions in a Filipino store about four miles away and does 15 to 16 rounds of mitts and shadow boxing every day while awaiting word on when his triple unification showdown with super WBA/IBF titleholder Naoya Inoue will be reset.

I doubt the boxing fight will be on May, the virus still will still be spreading by May. There were some radio program I have heard a week ago that it will take more than 6 months before this virus will be contained. And another few months to wait for the clearing. We're all going to stay home for the entire year if worse comes. I'm for Inoue. He knocked guys in a row.

That's what I'm thinking also, this fight might not happen so soon, maybe in the last quarter of the year if the virus will be contain.
Everyday, number of people are dying and more people are getting infected, we are not a living in a normal world anymore,  entertainment will be forgotten for awhile as everyone seeks safety against the virus.

I just wish that both fighters are alright, just hold it there, the fight will happen in the future, and we will see who is the real beast.

I just voted now, a bit late, but I like Casimero to win the fight.

There's plenty of time for this fight to resume, but at this time, they should not force the situation, it's time to reconnect with our family and spend time with them if possible, for casimero I think its not possible as he is still in the US.

According to the news, the fight might happen in May, but I doubt it because the situation now is getting serious.

the only problem now is where they will be practicing and train since all of establishments are closed because of lock downs

That's not a problem, they should not be practicing at this time, In US the total number of people positive with COVID-19 are increasing, they have to safeguard their health and forget the preparation of this fight for awhile.

Yes especially John riel's training camp is in US, they should immediately cease all activities for practicing. Even NBA athletes the healthy ones still gotten infected. We wouldn't want to see a good fight permanently cancelled cause one of them was still forcing to practice even with the increasing numbers of infected.

Since we cannot change things now so we must accept the postponement of this great Fight ,this will also bring chances on both fighter to make more enough preparation although they already have long time before this fight starts.

i am still looking for the win of Casimero even if we will wait another months before this finally take place.

The postponed gives more time for the boxers to prepare. I'm sure they can adjust their respective diet and weight maintenance regime. It's difficult for a boxer to adjust as they already follow what's on their activity list that will end up supposedly next month prior to weigh-in.

Postponement is very good at this point of time, no outdoor sporting events should be continued, and both boxers should also take care of themselves now that everybody should be in door, I'm pretty sure that both fighters will keep their condition while staying at home I believe Casimero is in a region where there is no known case of CoVid 19.

Its not a valid reason for you to stop your training just because of the current situation or somewhat being restricted. You can practice even your indoors
yet we know that boxers main focused should really be on his body where it should really be prepared anytime for an upcoming fight.Stopping will just put you in trouble

Las Vegas is also practicing a social distancing and all gyms are closed. I don't know where Casimero is currently staying but if it's a hotel (which I think it is), I doubt he can train there. On the link given, it was 4 days ago so maybe he now currently minimizes his training time.

Since the fight is postponed, Top Rank will surely adjust the schedule to wherein both fighters will have enough preparation to maintain their weight as it is hard for boxers to do that activity.

Definitely, the promoter will give time to train again once the date of when the fight will happen be finalized again.
Casimero does not need to train now, he needs to relax, stay at home or wherever he is staying right now, as rate is increasing on people getting infected in US.
It's better to think about his personal health instead of thinking about this fight, Casimero and Inoue together with those people behind them should
take extra precautions in order to be safe with this spreading coronavirus.
There's no pressure for both parties as everything will be taking place after this issue got resolve.

Now, we don't know when the fight will happen so maybe both are just relaxing for now.

Well, not for John Riel Casimero as he still continues his practice even the fight is postponed.

Work doesn’t stop for John Riel Casimero despite postponed fight

Nothing wrong as nothing to do in the first place and he can't even back at the country because of the current travel suspension that will last until next month.

But I noticed his mouth is beginning to throw words to Inoue. He should be humble. Too much overconfident by talks is not good while the other party is just silent.

when you already gaining weight more than on your preferred class and we know that adjusting is more difficult.

On the other side about that overconfidence thing, i agree on this one which they should at least be humble just like on what we have observed on Inoue's team
rather than talking blah blah blah, im aint saying that i hate casimero but they should remain low key.,

I like his personality, and he has showed that he can fight and not afraid of anyone in his division, in fact he choose the beast even if obviously people think Inoue is greater than him, its a big challenge for him and if he will succeed on this, better fights waiting ahead for him for sure.

It's not that he is not afraid to anyone but he really should pass Inoue that's why he chose that beast. It's a mandatory fight for him that will make his resume good.

Beating the Japanese will result in him getting a high ranking, raised his market value as a boxer and gaining more fame. As per some analysts, he will also get the opportunity to unify and take home three titles.

There are lots to gain so that's the reason why he considers Inoue as his next match.
