@freedomgo, the fight is still over a month from now, we hope that the pandemic will be over soon so we can witness this fight.

Based on what I read, this fight is selling good to the fans, with this pandemic, its sales are pretty much affected and I don't think at this time they are buying for this, of course no, they are buying for the basic needs.

I also don't know if they have a target sales for this fight as its really affected significantly, less sales would make the promoter loss on their investment on this fight, so when this situation will be neutralize it's possible it will be postpone to give more time on the ticket sales and maybe PPV if there is.

Ticket sales will be affected but PPV sales will be higher than expected people will want to see the fight in their homes than watching it live, but I doubt if this fight will push through, I don't see this fight going to happen while the world is canceling all the big sporting events, they will definitely announce this soon and by the way surprise that in the poll Casimero is getting a lot of support.

..the fight is still over a month from now, we hope that the pandemic will be over soon so we can witness this fight.

Take note that the term "Pandemic" is the highest level of spread. It's impossible to control or got it eliminated in a duration of a month even in the area where only a few reported cases were confirmed. So rather than expecting to witness this fight on the scheduled date, just accept that this fight might cancel.

Well, as most of the cases you can't see an average minimum wage earner watching the boxing live as the ticket is costly but the reason why the sales should be affected is that people are worried about the risks of getting infected in a crowded area. Most people that have been an enthusiast of watching live boxing do have money to pay for tickets but for safety, they will refrain joining a crowded area for a meantime.

This will be a disappointment for the fans if the match is postponed.
As a fan, I would not be disappointed as the reason why it will be postpone is valid, this is for health safety so you can compromise people's health just to make this fight happen, postponement is okay, we can still see this fight, it's not cancelled.

People have been waiting for this fight for a long time and they will not want it to be postponed. The match is to be played on April 25 in Las Vegas and I do not want any bad news because of the coronavirus for this match. Lets keep the fingers crossed.
Of course this fight is big and people are really waiting for this especially those from Philippines and Japan as these are the nations these two fighters carrying respectively, but like I said, there is a global emergency that requires this kind of action.

Going back to Casimero vs Inoue, I'm sure organisers are looking ways to stage the fight without putting risk on boxing fans, I don't know how are they going to implement it, but we will see if they can make it happen as schedule so that we as boxing fans can still watch this very interesting and good fight.

They can't change the current set up, this is not possible without the fans watching them, so its either they postpone it or they will face the risk of being infected on the virus, the thing is, no matter how careful you are, there are still possibilities that the virus will spread, and this big crowd here, the risk is so high, if other sporting events like NBA are suspended, I would not be surprise here will be postpone.

The chance of getting this fight to be postponed is high as mentioned that the risk is not worthy boxing fans should wait for some time there's no need to rush for this fight since the Corona virus can spread very quickly it's better for those promoters to rethink as they need to gamble with the health of those possible people to watch the fight.

Actually it's possible and Top Rank considered that on those recently postponed events to make sure spectators will not be placed on risk. However, after close consultation with the NY Athletic Commission, those fights should not proceed.

It's really hard to postpone a boxing event as boxers prepared on this for long. They worked really hard just to reached and maintain qualified weight. But no choice but to stay safe rather than to risks everyone. The virus in the first place will not be called a pandemic for no reason.

As for Inoue vs Casimero bout, I believed it will also be postponed. With just about a month to go before the bout, it's quite impossible to think that everything will be under control over that duration. Let's wait then for the updates.

With so many events cancelled and suspended like the NBA, PBA in the Philippines, i think this fight might be move to a later date if ever there is no success in combating this COVID-19.

World title fights also in jeopardy due to COVID-19 threat

Measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) are threatening to postpone two world title fights featuring world champions Jerwin Ancajas and John Riel Casimero.

Thanks for this news, at least we know in advance so we will not expect anymore that this fight will happen per schedule.
Actually I don't know that Ancajas also have a title fight coming, someone should make a thread in this section.

That is surely a mistake, Anjacas has no world title fight.

They are looking at the possibility of having the fight at the UFC Apex facility.

Looks like most promoters, broadcasters and venues are looking into measures to somehow stage the fights even if people aren't allowed to attend large gatherings anymore.

Dana White from the UFC said that they'll just hold their fights in smaller venues that stay within the legal limit, but will go ahead with major UFC fights like Khabib vs Ferguson.

I think they're going to end up implementing the same policy for boxing, but I imagine the absolute biggest fights will end up being moved back until later in the year.

I dont believe that the vaccine would be available soon or in 1 month time.So high chances that these events would be delayed or cancelled soon as long theres
crowd involved then it would count.Lots of events being affected by this pandemic which should really be resolved soon or else we would see
similar scenarios or getting worst.

Great odds for Casimero, it's gonna be a great fight and of course it would not be possible that I will not place my bet on this.
Casimero here, talking chances with a wonderful odds, @+500 , I think that's the equivalent of x5, I will definitely gonna take it with open eyes.
Good luck mate, looks like we are on the same side, here, it's hard not to consider what Casimero has achieve, especially the last fight TKO win against a champion and in fact, the beast was proven has weakness, Casimero should expose it here.

As expected where Casimero would be the underdog here but those odds are really attractive for real supporters for Casimero. There are no signs of postponement due to virus issue

but hopefully it wont really be affected and would still continue in spite of the current problem we are facing on.Thanks for the share up of the odds btw.

Since NBA season is suspended indefinitely, maybe I can use my budget to this fight, x5 is quite so generous if Casimero would win, so I'll take.
Based on the poll, the voting is 10-7 in favor of Casimero, I am expecting that they will put their money to Casimero too.

This was just the same on Donaire voting as i remember where everyone do root for that Filipino boxer.Hope this one wont disappoint for those people who chose casimero.

This wont be an easy fight for sure but at least we do see some chance that he might able to win this fight.I wont be surprised if there are postponement due to that Covid-19

yet we are already gradually seeing this stuff worldwide.

We still have more than one month, hopefully this problem will be solve in less than a month but we have to be open for the possibility that this fight could be postpone, of course they can't fight without an audience as that's where they will get their money, and this fight will be held in US where we've seen in the news about NBA season being suspended.

Thanks for posting the line odds of the fight man, been waiting for this for some time now so i can update the OP.

I expect the odds for Casimero to go low when the fight draws nearer as there are a lot of Casimero backers here so is this the right time to pull the trigger or wait until the fight draws nearer?
Wow, Casimero as underdog from the odd, taking some chances for this man, it would be nice if he will win this fight money will flow with his fellow
kababayan who loves to take the risk and gambles for their fighter.
Just curious, if this fight will not be affected by the corona virus.
