Now, we don't know when the fight will happen so maybe both are just relaxing for now.

Well, not for John Riel Casimero as he still continues his practice even the fight is postponed.

Work doesn’t stop for John Riel Casimero despite postponed fight

Nothing wrong as nothing to do in the first place and he can't even back at the country because of the current travel suspension that will last until next month.
That's because he got no choice, I don't realize he is already in the US now preparing for the postponed fight.
Well, I wish him luck, but going to the gym regularly, I think it will also put his health into hazard.

But I noticed his mouth is beginning to throw words to Inoue. He should be humble. Too much overconfident by talks is not good while the other party is just silent.

I like his personality, and he has showed that he can fight and not afraid of anyone in his division, in fact he choose the beast even if obviously people think Inoue is greater than him, its a big challenge for him and if he will succeed on this, better fights waiting ahead for him for sure.

Upon the lost of Donaire to Inoue, It didn't come to my mind that Casimero will try to fight/challenge Inoue. But upon voting, I saw that there are many voters in favored to Casimero to win compared to Inoue. This fight is very interesting to follow as they are both strong puncher and a little mistake in both of the side will end the game for sure.

Though I voted for Casimero, still this fight is very close and the winner will be determined if who among of them has the sharpest punch and mind to control the game if none of them will go down. Dasmarinas will surely challenge Inoue if Casimero will lost this game to Inoue.

The postponed gives more time for the boxers to prepare. I'm sure they can adjust their respective diet and weight maintenance regime. It's difficult for a boxer to adjust as they already follow what's on their activity list that will end up supposedly next month prior to weigh-in.

The reason I was glad for the postponed because I want Inoue to get back on his shape, the shape when he fights Nonito Donaire. After the fight, Inoue was hospitalized for about a month and still on recovery when he gets out. He received serious damage on that fight proving Donaire is still a dangerous boxer today at his age.

When the time now comes that Inoue and Casimero faced on the ring, no such excuses that's why I want Inoue to become 100% prepared for us to see how Casimero will handle this rough fighter from Japan.

I don't think that they will schedule the fight when both fighters are not prepared, on the original schedule date which is on April 25, 2020, Inoue should already got the clearance when he fight and even during the practice, he needs to be cleared to fight again.

More time given to them, I think they'll relax for awhile as no fighter would train months and months going to the fight.
Now, we don't know when the fight will happen so maybe both are just relaxing for now.

Our excitement on this fight was temporarily on pause right now as there is no assurance this fight would push through according to its schedule.
The cases of infected people in the US was spreading fast, maybe let's wait until the situation is in control, this would only happen in Vegas as its bad if they'll change venue just to push it soon, vegas casinos has been close for now if I am not mistaken, so no gamblers would love to see this, if you guys have new updates on the fight, please share by posting here.

Currently there is no new date for this fight and recently no one should be interested in any sports or game. When world is suffering from coronavirus, how can anyone be waiting for a match or playing a match  Sad

There is no definite date for this fight yet as they are still observing the progress of this pandemic and i agree with you, how can anyone be interested in a fight if you see people suffering from this disease all over the world. The best thing the promoter of this fight can do for now is to donate some money to those affected by this COVID-19 virus.

Right, actually our excitement has turn into panic not because of the fight but the effect of COVID-19 to all of us.

Yes, we should wait till everything has settled down specially in US soil. Lots of players and even average joe's are getting infected by the day. I think as sports fan, we understand the extent of the situation so we can only hope that the pandemic can be control in the next coming weeks so that we can slowly see boxing or any other sports be back to normal again.

As others also mentioned, the fight is now postponed:

No Casimero vs Inoue in April

As I have also posted here before, we all know that other Top Rank's events also canceled so this bout was expected to be postponed. This shouldn't be a surprise.
Thanks for link share up!

It isnt really surprising for this kind of news yet other association, leagues etc. had already made their actions towards postponement of events then
i already anticipated that this one will really be just the same. Why would expect much if those one to push through in the middle of pandemic problem?
It sucks for it to be delayed but for the sake of safety, it would be more worth to decide to make this fight happen in other time and this doesnt only
apply on boxing but in all other sports.

It's interesting to see how you are so excited about a Bantamweight fight mate, lol-jk.

there are news that a medicine made by japan is actually effective against the virus and china is recovering and no new cases as of today
I bet that Japanese medicine is a hoax. China is recovering simply because they were enough people infected, cured, and became immune to the virus so that it couldn't wildly spread anymore.

I hope they push through the original schedule there are news that a medicine made by japan is actually effective against the virus and china is recovering and no new cases as of today.
Would you share where that news is coming from?
Everyone are interested to know about that for sure, and that means this fight might push through although its just one month more from now.

Hopefully, this continues until april so everyone can make money through pay per view and bet. This is such an epic fight for me as a boxing fan.
Everyone can't make money in betting, lol.. actually most gamblers loses their money, maybe everyone can have fun but not win.

They would rather reschedule it or move the date than on considering to have that stage fight without any audience or people around. We know that this is business and doing with that
set up wont really give or generate out income knowing that these are big fights not just an ordinary low ranking one.
Indeed. A huge part of earnings from such kind of sport came from the ticket sales so if there's no audience allowed to watch then for sure the organizers/promoters will have unhappy pockets for sure Grin. That's why I really wonder why President of UFC, Dana White, still continue Lee vs Oliveira without even a single audience Huh. Is it even worth it? Well, it happened so I think so. (Sorry for the off topic, I'm just trying to relate it)

With so many events cancelled and suspended like the NBA, PBA in the Philippines, i think this fight might be move to a later date if ever there is no success in combating this COVID-19.

World title fights also in jeopardy due to COVID-19 threat

Measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) are threatening to postpone two world title fights featuring world champions Jerwin Ancajas and John Riel Casimero.

https://sports.mb.com.ph/2020/03/13/boxing-world-title-fights-also-in-jeopardy-due-to-covid-19-threat/

Thanks for this news, at least we know in advance so we will not expect anymore that this fight will happen per schedule.
Actually I don't know that Ancajas also have a title fight coming, someone should make a thread in this section.

That is surely a mistake, Anjacas has no world title fight.

Going back to Casimero vs Inoue, I'm sure organisers are looking ways to stage the fight without putting risk on boxing fans, I don't know how are they going to implement it, but we will see if they can make it happen as schedule so that we as boxing fans can still watch this very interesting and good fight.

They would rather reschedule it or move the date than on considering to have that stage fight without any audience or people around. We know that this is business and doing with that

Just like on any other sport events, its just right that the association do make such decision rather than forcing it out in the middle of this pandemic problem.
and as said by questat which this is much more better rather than expecting on something which wont happen. Grin

[..snip..]

Good moved by Top Rank.

I'm sure those boxers are going to be frustrated to see the fight being cancelled by the COVID-19 situation. I can only speculate that since there is no official date yet, they needed to keep in top form, maybe lay-low on their daily training regimen so that they won't get burn out or over train when the fight resume in the coming weeks or months.

It's now official, Top Rank already announced that it is cancelling all of it's scheduled fight this March and April to a later date.

Wonder what's the effect of this postponements to boxers who are already in it's peak training-wise. Do they have to start all over again?

Quote
The announcement followed a flurry of postponements throughout the boxing world Monday. The shows Arum’s Top Rank Inc. had scheduled for March and April will be rescheduled “as soon as it’s safe and reasonable to do so,” according to a press release issued Monday.

@freedomgo, the fight is still over a month from now, we hope that the pandemic will be over soon so we can witness this fight.

Based on what I read, this fight is selling good to the fans, with this pandemic, its sales are pretty much affected and I don't think at this time they are buying for this, of course no, they are buying for the basic needs.

I also don't know if they have a target sales for this fight as its really affected significantly, less sales would make the promoter loss on their investment on this fight, so when this situation will be neutralize it's possible it will be postpone to give more time on the ticket sales and maybe PPV if there is.

Ticket sales will be affected but PPV sales will be higher than expected people will want to see the fight in their homes than watching it live, but I doubt if this fight will push through, I don't see this fight going to happen while the world is canceling all the big sporting events, they will definitely announce this soon and by the way surprise that in the poll Casimero is getting a lot of support.

Don't be surprise, maybe majority of the voters are Filipino, of course they'll support their countryman.
There will be no PPV if there is no audience in the arena, how much they'll make for PPV, I think it's just a small amount way below compared to their expected sales.
