But it is what it is, so history has been made today by Inoue. Let's see if Inoue is true to his words that he wanted to remain in this division and clean it up.

Names like Luis Nery, Akhmadaliev or even John Riel Casimero is potential opponent for him.

Maybe Akhmadaliev and Casimero had a better chance of fighting Inoue since the latter loves to fight in his own country, especially now that he is the champion. AFIAK, Luis Nery is banned in Japan, so for the fight to happen, it should be outside Japan, which is unlikely to happen.

It is still a good fight as Tapales reached round 10 and most of the people said that he cannot surpass round 6 which is surprising he did because of how he defends himself. It is still not as easy a fight as we thought because of the ranking and how far Tapales is from Inoue. It is the prime of Japan right now and mostly there are no Filipinos that can fight Inoue as of the moment. Congrats to all who bet and won!

Yes, everyone thinks that Tapales will not last that long, but he did and that is already a big accomplishment for his endurance and really willing to win this fight. You can see that he was really hurt and trying to get up from the canvass. But the pain though, it was very tough to see fellow Filipino again falling to the Monster.

Yes, I know that Nery is ban in Japan, but if there is a chance that this fight is going to happen in the US, specially that Inoue says he might stay here then I think there is a big possibility that this could happen in the future. Unless Inoue doesn't want to fight or doesn't want to get out of his comfort zone and keeps fighting in Japan.

In any case, Naoya Inoue has won by knockout against lefthanded opponents before the fight reached round  5. This might occur again which might make under 6.5 rounds a good bet. There is also round range 4-6 victory for Inoue.

If you guys push this bet through, you'll lose your money as the fight ended in round 10, in favor of Inoue.
Tapales went down in round 4 but he was able to get up and continue the fight, from then, he became so careful that he ain't throwing a lot of punches but just remain on being competitive. I don't know his strategy but it's expected that a fighter who would fight Inoue will lose his aggressiveness.

Tapales made it to round 10. Sure he is tough to KO but I think because in this bout he was more into defending himself. If his goal is to defeat Inoue, I think he will open himself to serious hits that will end earlier.
Tapales are no different than the fighters that had fought Inoue. They can't withstand the power of Inoue, so instead of looking for opening to knock out Inoue, they were focus on defensive stance to survive, it's the sad reality. So, I think Inoue has to move up so he can find an opponent that could match his power.

This fight is going to be the basis of the next fighter who will face Inoue. It made him ineffective. Inoue said he will defend his belt twice in this division, Nery I think should be the next.

Inoue has no reason to stay at super bantamweight. Although it was previously reported that he'll stay for a while, but for the sake of real competition, I think he needs to move up and look for another title fight.

Am I the only one here seeing some Manny Pacquaio vibes while Inoue is moving on the ring? They are seems similar, its nostalgic feeling when seeing how strong and fast he is then see how he dominate todays match.

Its really impressive performance for Inoue since even on first round we can see who's going to win and Tapales cannot do anything but do defend his self all the time. We see how fast and strong he is that's the reason he's so hard to defeat. But anyways even if Tapales lost his belt still he goes home with a lot of cash in hand also many still happy to see him survive until 10 rounds since many people predict that Inoue will knock him out immediately that's why despite for his lost Tapales fans still happy with the result they see.

I watched the whole fight through a Facebook stream. There were so many viewers even the stream screen was flooded with ads (most of my countrymen know what I'm referring to, lol). In rounds 1-3, you can obviously tell who will be the winner. Tapales just played defense, couldn't counter, had no footwork but I'm surprised that he managed to dodge many punches from his opponent. I'm also surprised that the fight lasted 10 rounds; my prediction was 5-7 since Inoue already knocked Tapales down in round 4.

Still Mabuhay Tapales. Still proud of him.

Anyway, is it possible we can see Inoue vs Mark Magsayo in the future?

I'm also still proud of Tapales many expected him to go down in less than 5 rounds but he managed to hold until the 10th round it's good that he is not badly hurt, Inoue just like all the other fights just imposed his will, I just knew on the early rounds that he will finish Tapales but not in the 10th round.
Inoue against Magsayo is a good match-up if Inoue wants to get up in the featherweight immediately, is it possible for Inoue to match Manny Pacquiao's record, I believe the real challenge for Inoue is the featherweight and the lightweight divisions.

Yes, who wouldn't be proud for what Tapales has shown in this fight? down in round 4, but still, he tried his best to engage and he did hit Inoue several times but Inoue is really too good, as he has a iron chin and is so fast and powerful.

Others thought that he will not last 7 rounds, but he manage to outdo everyone, but then again, Inoue is really above anyone at the super bantam weight and so congrats to him for unifying all the belts at 122 lbs and the second man behind Crawford to accomplished and becoming 2 weight class unified champion.

Damage has been done! And Inoue is the clear winner no doubt he will knock Tapales down as the Filipino guy is not a counter puncher. Though surviving that far round is quite impressive for Tapales himself as we all know that he got all the barrage of power punches from the Japanese guy. Anyways, congratulations to those who place bets in that match!
As expected by many Inoue won and did knocked out another Filipino boxer but still, we are so proud of Tapales for trying.
The whole round was exciting and Tapales shows a great composure and professionalism although he fell short. Inoue is still manage to protect his unstoppable record and I wonder who will be the first boxer to beat Inoue, hope that other Filipino boxer will challenge Inoue again.

Exactly, his style was counter punching but it was effectively done against Inoue. If he has the power to intimidate Inoue, things could be different as we might have witness a very entertaining fight. And just like that, Inoue is now the undisputed champion, maybe he'll think of moving up as there's no more challenge in the division he's reigning.

Personally I didn't expect that he'll survive that long. Once again, Inoue had proven that he is too much in this division. Thus far, based on my personal opinion, only Donaire had hurt him, others are just fighting to survive and get the paycheck.

Tapales was very tough. He was handling Inoue’s power well but eventually the accumulation of damage was too much. He didn’t win many rounds but he wasn’t completely battered and broken like many expected.

Inoue is a very, very good fighter but he is not perfect. Sometimes he forgets about his defense and will get caught with clean shots. I think he will stay in the super bantam division a bit longer before he is ready to move up again.

Inoue mentioned something about fighting in May. I imagine Luis Nery might be the opponent he was alluding to. Nery has a bad reputation, especially in Japan. There will be a lot of interest in this fight because many people want to see Inoue avenge their countryman. The question will be whether Nery will be allowed to fight in Japan or will they have to fight in the United States.

I wasn't able to watch the start of the fight because I had errands to do. Good thing when I came back the fight is still active, that was round 7 I think, and I can already see how Tapales are afraid of Inoue's punches, although he had some counter punching technique but he isn't moving well and his punches doesn't have the power to scare Inoue.

of course, we are still proud of him, not for winning but because he survive in 10 rounds in a losing effort.

If Magsayo will go down, or if Inoue will go up.

They aren't in the same division now, Inoue is in super bantamweight, while Magsayo is in Super Featherweight already.

How sad It end up not in favor with Tapales but still he bring a good fight and it really show that Inoue's skill is om different level. But still a great achievement for Tapales for lasting at round 10 since not all Inoue's opponent would last at late rounds. And would agree that its better for Tapales for not getting up on his last knock out since its very clear that he already lost in that match. He may get more damage if he insist to make the fight last until round 12 and that can give him more problems.

I think Inoue will get one more fight and after that he will go up to feather weight since he want to chase more belt then break more records.

So fast and so strong that's how I describe Inoue in this fight he has maintained his speed and power from the Bantamweight, and in his recent interview he mentioned he would stay here and do a few more fights before moving on in the higher division, I think featherweight is a more challenging division for Inoue, these are the featherweight champion that he is going to face in case he move up to featherweight I think he will move up before the end of this year.

Rey Vargas 36–1 (22 KO), Luis Alberto Lopez 29–2 (16 KO) and Rafael Espinoza 24–0 (20 KO)

The end came in round 10 Tapales put up a good fight throughout the fight but Inoue was just waiting to land his big punch It was better for Tapales not to get up from that because Inoue is such a good finisher and he might seriously hurt by Inoue, Inoue is now the undisputed Super Bantamweight Title, I don't think anyone in that division can match up Inoue's speed and power.
Maybe after three or four fights, he should move up to the featherweight division where there are more challenges.

But since the fight will happen today I guess its good for us to speculate since for sure that we can see more great match today. Let see how Tapales end up after this fight since he receive a lot of criticism so I think this give him motivation to perform well in this match.

All the hype now belongs to Inoue, I believe only few really believe Tapales will win, even the Filipinos are still doubtful on betting with him to win. I hope Tapales will be more inspired in this fight as if he will become an undisputed champion, he will make a history for the Philippines since no Filipino boxer yet had become an undisputed champion in this division.

This fight is for Inoue to win, a formality to become the only Japanese boxer to be a unified champion in two weight categories and i do hope that Marlon "The Nightmare" Tapales ruins it all hehe. One lucky punch could turn the fight around and i hope it would be in favor of Tapales.

My bet is that this fight would last 8 rounds, whomever the winner but would be glad if Inoue is the one kissing the canvas.

At least he reached at this level, round 10 and the game was over. His strategy seemed to be working, he was able to counter Inoue's attack but the problem is that he doesn't have the power that could hurt Inoue, the reason why he doesn't gain respect from Inoue and the monster are still attacking him.

Congratulations to the bettors who made the right prediction, the over 6.5 hit, and I think @bisdak bet on that.

Inoue made a history tonight.  Smiley

You own the pen
Marlon Tapales is showing all heart in this fight and is giving his best to survive all the rounds also his giving Inoue some good shots here, though not enough to shake him and make him wobble, it gives Inoue some extra careful feelings not to engage recklessly on Tapales. Nevertheless, if this fight reaches the 12 rounds judges decisions, obviously it's unanimous for Inoue. Tapales will anytime be knocked out totally in this fight if not only for his good defense but not enough to beat Inoue because it has no good offense as well.

Tapales survived the first round, it was very slow, but we can see the speed and power of Inoue already.

Marlon is very cautious in the first round and I think he slip just one left counter, so I give the first round to Inoue obviously.

More movement in round 2, I think both are settling down, Tapales though slip. Just observed the feet.

Edit: Tapales down in round 4.

All Inoue show for now, hope it will last 8 rounds. Seems the punches of Tapales never hurt Inoue so I think in the third quarter, Inoue will throw all he got to knockout Tapales here.

Edit: round 10 KO win for Inoue, he was just too powerful for Tapales' defense. The consolation here is that i won my bet of over 7.5.
excited now about what's next for Inoue, will he move up again to the featherweight division and conquer the 130-pound category.
