Tapales survived the first round, it was very slow, but we can see the speed and power of Inoue already.

Marlon is very cautious in the first round and I think he slip just one left counter, so I give the first round to Inoue obviously.

More movement in round 2, I think both are settling down, Tapales though slip. Just observed the feet.

Edit: Tapales down in round 4.

But since the fight will happen today I guess its good for us to speculate since for sure that we can see more great match today. Let see how Tapales end up after this fight since he receive a lot of criticism so I think this give him motivation to perform well in this match.

All the hype now belongs to Inoue, I believe only few really believe Tapales will win, even the Filipinos are still doubtful on betting with him to win. I hope Tapales will be more inspired in this fight as if he will become an undisputed champion, he will make a history for the Philippines since no Filipino boxer yet had become an undisputed champion in this division.

This fight is for Inoue to win, a formality to become the only Japanese boxer to be a unified champion in two weight categories and i do hope that Marlon "The Nightmare" Tapales ruins it all hehe. One lucky punch could turn the fight around and i hope it would be in favor of Tapales.

My bet is that this fight would last 8 rounds, whomever the winner but would be glad if Inoue is the one kissing the canvas.

Unfortunately, that's true, only a couple of Filipinos might think that Tapales can win because it's going to be a uphill battle for him facing the monster in Japan. We can only hope for the best to Marlon Tapales to bring and become the first Pinoy to held 4 belts. But it's tough, base on the odds itself, although it has somewhat trim to 7:1 underdog, but initially it was like 10:1, so he is really huge underdog going into this fight. Fight is not yet happening, but I think in the next couple of minutes, the fight is going to start. Stakes are high in this fight, so both have have pressures on their shoulder now.

I did not expect Tapales to weigh lower than Inoue but I guess he will rehydrate more than the Japanese. Both are in excellent condition so we have a fight. My head says Tapales won't finish the full 12 rounds but I am feeling confident that he is preparing for something new and awkward that will make Inoue think about being too aggressive. And Tapales hits harder than Fulton, maybe he can do damage on Inoue if he gets his timing right.

This is a great fight. Both fighters showed respect to each other. May the best man win.

Yes, but Inoue has seen a lot of southpaw already and crafty fighters like Fulton but they end the same, with a brutal knockout. So we don't know that Tapales is preparing and we do hope that it will be enough to offset the raging Inoue right now.

I think the money bet here could be in round range are others might see it.

And it will be a big surprised if Tapales can last in the championship rounds as Inoue might want to end the fight early with his power.

Many think that its easy for Inoue to finish Tapales but they forget to realize that the guy is champion so I guess same with other fights Tapales can last long in their match up. Although Inoue is heavily fan favorite regarding on this match especially on betting. But I still have feeling that Tapales can bring good match to Inoue since for sure he's well prepapared and we can see it on their last weigh in. We see how Inoue respect Tapales so I guess he also realize that this match will not became so easy for him.

If we believe that Inoue will win and end this fight early, I think the round range of 1-3 rounds are quire attractive as it's 5.80. But if you want to take a higher risk by betting on Inoue to finish the fight in round 1, that's x19. Since all the favor are on Inoue, I think bettors will just neglect the odds of Tapales, they'll just be looking on betting odds that they find attractive on the market of Inoue.

My bet is also on Asian total under 7.5. I think this is the safest bet for me which offer good odds. Right now, the odds on under 7.5 is even lower at 1.55. When I made my bet it was still 1.60 I think. With a boost, that would be 1.64.

Although I hope that this fight would be a good fight and Tapales will really make it hard for Inoue to grab victory, I'm betting based on objective bases. I think Inoue would knock Tapales out within the first half of the whole fight.

I hope this will not end early, if ever this will end via knockout. The good thing about this fight is that most of the people thinks that this would be an easy fight for Inoue, forgetting that Tapales is also a champion. Tapales is very aware that if he will be too aggressive, this would end early but he should be aggressive but calculated aggressiveness is what he needs and stay away from the ropes.

My bet is this fight to be over 8 rounds, better if this will last the full 12 rounds.
Yeah, lots of speculation from us, we wanted to even last this the whole 12 rounds, but it's hard how Tapales can maintain that against the power of Inoue. And again, this is Japan, so Inoue's homecourt, just look at the picture during weight-in, Inoue just worn a T-shirt but it seems that Tapales is cold with a popper jacker.

I think Tapales could have been affected by the cold weather in Japan right now, I reckon.

But let's see, it all or nothing for Marlon Tapales, he is also gunning for history books as the first Filipino to unify belts in the 4 belt era.

The fight that is called the Asian fight. Marlon Tapales from the Philippines with a record of 37-3, lost 3 times, one of which lost by TKO to a Japanese boxer in 2019.
while inoue is the king of ko from Japan and has never lost. in this fight inoue is definitely favored to win. in addition to the golden boy of bob arum,  the match will also be held in Japan. inoue's home base, which will certainly increase the spirit of inoue's combat power.

Yeah, both fighters came from Asia, and it will be a unifying fight for both champs, I agree and if not all most of us believes that Inoue have that
huge edge against Tapales, especially in terms of KO capabilities.

Though for sure with that 6 months preparations for Tapales he will give some decent fighting style for those fans who still believing on his capability.

Adding to that, the venue is also a factor for Inoue's edge, showcasing your best in front of your own crown that's adds up for him
to continue bringing that glory for his home crowd.

I'm also seeing this. Tapales will have to maintain a delicate balance. Tapales cannot be aggressive to the point that he's willing to trade huge blows against Inoue. Tapales has powerful punches, but Inoue's punches are definitely more powerful. A toe to toe fight will give Inoue an advantage. So Tapales cannot be too aggressive.

At the same time he also cannot just play with Inoue with points because Inoue is faster and quicker than him. If this fight would end and decided based on points, Inoue might win. Also, this is Inoue fighting in his hometown. Tapales cannot just trust the judges to give a completely fair scoring. Any round that could be given to either of them might easily go to Inoue. Inoue is in his homecourt. The crowd is with him too.

We will see whether Tapales can survive balancing on a razor's edge.

True, Fulton only had 8 KO in his 21 fights that he won, compared to Tapales who have many fights and KO's , so his experience is really something that could potentiallly give Inoue a problem. Tomorrow, we will see a sure firepower of both boxers that are willing to own all the belts, so for me, all the best for Tapales but I'm not betting a lot on him because he's a heavy underdog, I'm okay with small bet so I won't regret in case he'll fail.

Asian boxers are very respectful, so it's not a surprise. maybe if it's Casimero who's in the face off, that could be different.

However, Stephen Fulton's low knockout record does not imply that Marlon Tapales might have a much better performance against Inoue. I reckon if Fulton and Tapales went to fight against in each other in the boxing ring, Fulton would also be given similar odds as the oddsmakers are giving Inoue on Tapales.

I predict Tapales might not reach round 7. This fight might finish like how Inoue ended the fight vs. Dasmariñas.

Tapales is underestimated, that's not surprising at all as anyone who would fight Inoue would always end up a heavy underdog in the bookies market.

Right now all of Inoue's opponents in his weight division are underestimated because nobody comes close to beating him, Donaire was the closest opponent but on their second fight Inoue knocked him out, Tapales in his last fight, he did not show a performance that can equal Inoue's skill and power, I hope he can put a good fight and Inoue will not hurt him like he did to Donaire.
The fight will be held tomorrow, it is the best gift for both boxers, the winner takes everything, prestige, all the titles if the fight proves to be close there could be a rematch, so let's see how the fight will turn out to be I'm hoping that Tapales could be the one to give Inoue the toughest fight of his life or beat him

Tapales is no exemption of being part of the too underestimated opponents of Inoue. Judging by the betting odds of his fights, you can see how sportsbook sees Inoue as a heavy favorite, this kind of odds looks like a sure winner already.

Inoue is a -400 favorite vs Fulton
Inoue is a    -8,000 favorite vs Butler
Inoue is the -800 favorite vs Donaire (2).

I agree, book makers are putting Tapales currently at almost 10:1 underdog, and then fight not going to last full 12 rounds. But that's it though, we have seen the destructive power of Inoue, just knocking out his opponents and even the American Fulton who some of us think is a great fighter that can give Inoue a challenge, he just steamroll him and then knocking him out.

Tapales though might be different, his demeanor in the weigh-in, his facial expression. He even said that he didn't go to Japan to just have Inoue get a easy fight. He is there to win and beat the Monster. So goodluck to bettors, I personally haven't put my bet yet, but let's see.

That's a huge temptation there if you go with the side of Tapales. Bookies do set their lines based on their previous performance of both boxers, and since Inoue has won all his fights via domination, while Tapales won via upset, you know bookies would just make Inoe more favored.

Compared to Donaire, which Inoue is just -800 favorite, so bookmakers sees Donaire is a better fighter than Tapales. I'm sure Tapales sees this already, if he believe in himself that he can win, he might try to bet on himself to gain more money, but he should not make it public as I think it's against the boxing rules.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small
@bisdak40. I very much agree. This fight is not something similar to Canelo vs. Bivol where fans can speculate an argument for Bivol to get the victory. On Inoue vs. Tapales, there might certainly be no argument. However, are we underestimating Tapales?
It's completely different as Canelo that time attempt to climb and challenge the champion on the division which was Bivol, and he failed. This, they are both on the same division, on Inoue first attempt when he climbed, he already won a championship, so we can say he's comfortable at the current division and that they are in a unification bout tomorrow.

Tapales is underestimated, that's not surprising at all as anyone who would fight Inoue would always end up a heavy underdog in the bookies market.

In any case, Naoya Inoue has won by knockout against lefthanded opponents before the fight reached round  5. This might occur again which might make under 6.5 rounds a good bet. There is also round range 4-6 victory for Inoue.

Round range sure offer bigger odds, I haven't check it yet but I'm kinda interested on betting if it's already available.
