Despite all his personal problems, Teofimo managed to prevail in this fight. It was a very strong performance. I was disappointed in Taylor because it did not seem like he gave his best effort.

This was a great comeback for Teo after how bad he looked in his last fight. If he had lost many would question whether he should retire but now he has the possibility of massive paydays in his future.

For the record, Lopez has beaten two former undisputed and lineal champions and these are Lomachenko and Taylor, Lopez shows his true form it's the best Lopez I've seen after the Loma fight.

Now things are interesting now there are talks of a Ryan Garcia fight but the way Lopez boxes and if he could maintain this he will rule the light welterweight for many years

I don't think there should be a rematch but if there is a clause Taylor can activate that but it's not going to do him good, he needs two more fights the long layoff causes him this fight.

I think Josh has lost his touch already with all the wars in 140 lbs. He has steam rolled a lot of great and elite fighters before. But after that, it seems that in the last 2 fights, he might be showing signs of him not on his prime already.

Right, it was a different Lopez that shows here, maybe he was really comfortable fighting a southpaw like Teo. So now he has done it, becoming the WBO boxing champion and he has leverage now. I want him to fight Prograis next for another belt. Although Prograis didn't sign with Top Rank as he is now with Match Room. Hopefully Arum and Eddie Hearn can set it up next.

Another upset in boxing today as Teo Lopez defeated Josh Taylor via unanimous decision with the score of (2)115-113 and 117-111.

Per compubox, Lopez landed way more power punches than Taylor via that counter-punching strategy which I found it weird because that's not the style of Lopez that I knew of, I knew him as an aggressive fighter.

Congrats to all who bet for Lopez may it be ML or via decision as both odds were juicy.

Yes, I think we should give respect to Lopez though, as much as we hated this guy and even the vote shows almost everyone is against him, he won the fight clearly. He managed to dominate the fight as what his father said, that it will be a boxing clinic and that's what the younger Lopez did.

For Josh, he looks bad in this fight, so I think the Jack Catterall might be the first sign that he might have difficulty already in making weight at 140 lbs. But we will be too small at 147 lbs either. So it's hard for him at this point of his career. And yes, for those who bet on Lopez via ML bet, congrats, it was sure a big win for his fans as he was the underdog.

I am too wow, this is Lopez at its best it's all Lopez all the way, the speed made a big difference here, and the long layoff by Josh Taylor made a bad impact on the way he fights his timing is off, I don't agree with 115 - 113 by two of the judges it should have been  117 - 111 one of the judges is correct for me.

I consider this a huge upset, Lopez has proven that he still has it and he can really take over even one of the greatest.

This is the result of the poll here not every one of us believes he can dominate Taylor but he did it.

For the last time, I looked at Josh Taylor's fight highlights before the two meet in the ring today.  It looks like Teofimo's lower body resistance to blows will be tested since Josh Taylor loves throwing punches to the side of the body as part of his combination.  These punches may hinder Teofimo towards the whole fight and if his body endurance isn't that high, may affect how he will face Taylor.

Since Lopez's plan is to box[1] Taylor all throughout the fight, the body punches by Taylor may take a toll on Lopez since it is draining to receive body punches especially if the fight goes the distance. I believe it is really an interesting fight since Teofimo Lopez will not slug it out in order to not give any advantage to Taylor.

Yeah, very interesting that Teo Sr said that they want to box in this fight where we all know that Lopez is a puncher and he is not a technical fighter. While Josh Taylor is more of a technical boxer in my opinion and he loves to counter with his left and throw body shots, in short he was a total package that's why he was able to get all the 4 belts and unified it against great an talented 140 lbs fighter.

This might be just a diversification tactic by Lopez Sr though, just to throw Taylor and his camp, part of the psyche war. But let's see, majority thinks that Taylor will win though, so let's wait how he is going to accomplished it. But I love to see Teo going down if possible.

Official weigh-in for both fighters,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnB69bb8BV0

Taylor - 139.8 lbs
Lopez - 140 lbs

And now here's where the trash talking ends, they have time to rehydrate and be ready for the big fight in 24 hours. Josh Taylor is still the favorite so I'm not surprised if he actually win this fight. It might be close if a different version of Lopez shows in this fight. But if he got the wrong strategy and just want to counter then Josh might take it early and then dominate the fight in full 12 rounds.

There's also a good undercard in Xander Zayas vs Ronald Cruz. And Robson Conceicao vs Nicolas Polanco.

I'm glad that both have met the weight requirement, so there's no hindrance to this fight not pushing through. I'm excited for the fight tomorrow, not only because I'm excited to win, but also to see how Josh Taylor will punish Teo Lopez in the ring. This trash talker's mouth will be shut down by the real champion.

Yeah, they are both locked and loaded and ready to rumble tomorrow. But I am somehow disappointed as to why Top Rank or was it New York's boxing commission that did not allow both of them to have a press conference face-off and weigh-in face-off. I felt like Josh Taylor benefits from the face-offs. People are more accustomed to Teofimo Lopez's trash talks but Josh is actually not a humble dude. It's probably the reason why Teofimo was only good at talking but when the time they are near each other Teofimo is silent and it is Josh that is talking, finger-pointing, and wanted to get near to Lopez. It just so happens that Lopez is facing another bully like him but this Scottish bully is more proven and is the former undisputed champion. Lopez was fucking behaved like a good boy in the weigh-in. His useless dad was the one acting tough but he is not the one fighting though. It would've been a hell of a promotion if both Taylor and Lopez made some face-offs before fight night.

I reckon it was Top Rank who requested the security in the beginning, maybe they are expected something worst than just a shoving and pushing, just like in the Loma vs Haney fight.

So they asked for a New York Policeman to be present in the face-off and weigh-in and then more security personnel in between to separate the two. So there is the mind games, all the trash talking, now it's fight time. So we will see if Lopez can live up to his hype and who is going to go to the canvass. Sr though, giving the middle finger to the fans of Josh. Taylor, LOL. Unfortunately, it was live and the camera caught it.

That might be the case and the reason why the weigh-in was just literally only weigh-in with no face off in the last part, I guess that additional security really helped to control what might happen because we never know, Teofimo or Josh might be so hype and will start some pushing that will make the stage crazy while there are a million of people around the globe watching the weigh-in live.

I'm just curious why Teofimo didn't had some crazy words and just decided to stare Josh until the end while letting the latter do all the talk in-front of him.

Teo Sr is just so arrogant by showing that finger, he's so fired up as if he is the one that's going to fight. Teo Jr has not managed to say a statement in the final face-off, it's only Josh Taylor who did the talking, might it be that Teo Jr was afraid of the moment hehe, we will see tomorrow.

For me, if Lopez will be aggressive in the early rounds that might be not good strategy as we all know that Taylor could do damage if the former would walk to his punch but neither be that Lopez will just counter what Taylor throws because that is not his style so for me either be aggressive or be a counter puncher, Lopez will struggle and lose this fight unless he could land a haymaker.

Again, this fight will be aired live and free on Top Rank's youtube channel, that's what they said.

There is a video that show that fans are taunting the Lopez's and chanting, "You fat bastard" referring to Teo Lopez. He has to take his underwear though to make the official weight.

And those who are shouting are obviously fans of Josh Taylor, as they have that accent. Nevertheless, I do agree that Sr shouldn't do that in front of the camera and giving the middle finger. They are really so disrespectful and everyone is excited to see Josh Taylor punish Teo Lopez in this fight. It might be better if we can see him dominating the whole 12 rounds and battered Lopez.

Although trash-talking adds hype to the fight, it is important to remember that there are limitations to it. Besides, boxing is primarily entertainment, so it should not be taken personally. Everything the boxer and their camp do should be related to the fight. Tomorrow's fight between these two boxers is expected to be significant. I have speculated from the very beginning that both fighters will be aggressive. Hopefully, as the fight concludes, the trash-talking will also come to an end.

For sure, and I think boxers knows that, however, they are do are humans and sometimes it really gets into their skin if the attack is personal. And it seems Josh take it personally though and he is not backing down and he said in the weigh in that the trash talking ends already, and it's time for some action in the ring.

And I do agree that both are lock and loaded and Josh brought his fans around him. So gonna be a huge crowd, we all know how Irish or Scottish are die hard fans so they will bring everything as well as not not be outnumbers by Teo backers.

By the way, boxing fans from the Philippines and Germany are lucky to have free access to this big fight thru Youtube and Facebook. People from other countries need to pay or at least have subscriptions to ESPN (USA), Sky Sports (UK), and other networks.

And because Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez were not allowed to do a close face-to-face, DAZN's weigh-in was probably more exciting. Cheesy

Again, we might have to hate Teo Lopez and his father, the antics and everything. So I think this fight is going to sell, but I doubt that it can be close to like 200k PPV in the US. But I guess those numbers might be good for this 2 boxers, specially that Teo Lopez is fighting a non-American. And maybe the fans of Taylor is going to watch it from UK.

I forgot the link on the article that popped up on my social media account but it said that this fight can be watch live and for free on Top Rank's facebook account and youtube channel so with that i don't think that this Josh Taylor's defense of his belt will sell huge number on PPV or is this will be sold on PPV with Top Rank broadcasting this for free?

Oh is that so? maybe it is going to be on ESPN for sure as this is Top Rank and maybe that is why it is going to be free. Not sure how Top Rank is going to make money for this, but for sure the boxers would received their paycheck already from Top Rank himself and ESPN.

In any case, if it is for free then watch this fight whenever we can. Let's see if Teo Lopez can back up his trash talking, or Josh Taylor remains to be the top dog in this division and continue with the defense of his remaining belts at 140 lbs.

Well, as long that it is guaranteed then they can always claim it ahead of time just like what most boxers do. But anyway, that question also struck me because if they are showing this fight live through their Facebook account and YouTube channel, then how would they make some money out of this fight because for sure their PPV buys will be much lesser if that is really the case.

Anyway, found this article while I was browsing in google about their fight: Teofimo Lopez Sr Worried About Teo Being Robbed Against Josh Taylor

Professional win-loss-KO/TKO records
Josh Taylor: 19-0-13 KOs
Teofimo Lopez: 18-1-13 KOs

Their professional record is almost Identical , though Taylor is undefeated but He is only Up by 1 win against Lopez .

maybe Taylor is the favorite in here but I love supporting the underdog , so i will be looking for Lopez winning this fight.

I forgot the link on the article that popped up on my social media account but it said that this fight can be watch live and for free on Top Rank's facebook account and youtube channel so with that i don't think that this Josh Taylor's defense of his belt will sell huge number on PPV or is this will be sold on PPV with Top Rank broadcasting this for free?
wondering what drives Top rank's bringing this fight free to watch .
