Josh Taylor on the other hand seemed to be too confident despite his inactivity and poor performance in his last fight against Catterall. I can feel that he is belittling Teofimo Lopez's ability to win as he is predicting the big possibility of him taking out Teofimo in the early rounds.

That's not unusual, especially for undefeated boxers. He has the right to say whatever he wants, given his decent record, and as long as he remains undefeated, he can claim whatever he needs to elevate himself further. I hope his statement will motivate Lopez to train harder, so that we as fans can fully enjoy this big fight.

Meanwhile, Josh Taylor's rival Jack Catterall just signed with Matchroom Boxing. He is looking forward to shaking the dust off being also inactive for a year after delayed negotiations and cancellations to the supposed rematch with Josh Taylor. He also believed Teofimo Lopez will win over Josh. Although his prediction might be biased, he might be annoyed with Josh knowing most of the public thought he won the belts and then comes his inactivity after hoping for the rematch to happen.

I'm also not a Lopez fan, but I did enjoy his fight but him and his father have big mouths. As compare to the Benavidez beef with Caleb Plant, after the fight they seed that they are going to bury that and there are respect between the two after the fight. Not with the Lopez though against Loma, no rematch whatsoever, and then they can't accept their defeat with Kambosos and they still think that they have won that fight. So if he loss against Taylor, not sure what kind of excuses they are going to tell us again.

Expect that they will at least make a hype while calling for a rematch if in-case Teofimo Lopez will get defeated by Josh Taylor, I mean, I really don't think that he can actually defeat the latter who have been in the industry for such a long time now and already carved his name as he already managed to achieve the feat of being the undisputed champion. Teo Lopez will just another embarrassment on his career after this fight.

In-fact Teo wasn't even in the radar of Josh Taylor but since he luckily defeated Sandor Martin and became the WBO International Super Light, the latter got not much of an option but to settle with Teo in the meantime just to make himself active.

I'm picking Josh Taylor to win by KO/TKO. I believe that Teofimo just got lucky when he beat Lomachenko because he was exposed against Kambosos. So, I trust a consistent champion who has not experienced a defeat yet. This might be a difficult fight for Taylor, but I think he will end up winning by KO since we also know how aggressive Teofimo is. He'll taste his own medicine in the end.

I believe that if both will go toe-to-toe, Taylor will have a good advantage, like what you said Lopez will taste the dose of his
own medicine when confronting Taylor.

Let see if how both fighters will prepare here and how they will bring something enjoyable for the fans that will support them during the fight.

It will be for the supporters to put their money to whatever they'll like and believe, entrusting their money to the chosen fighter.

The odds should be attractive on both sides, as although Taylor has some advantages, I'm sure there are still plenty of bettors who believe that the younger Teofimo Lopez might upset Josh Taylor. Based on the poll, the voting results as of now are also very close, which means the pulse of the posters here is divided.

I think the odds won't have that huge gap between these two boxers.  They are both capable and experienced.  The records is almost identical except for one lost of Teofimo Lopez which I think will cost him to be the underdog although their past 3 fight performance is remarkably good.

This is definitely a great fight. I've been waiting for fights like this, and finally, we have one this year. Lopez could be the underdog here, so I'm going with the favorite, which I believe is Josh Taylor. Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed with Lopez's performance against Kambosos. So until he gets a win in a big fight, I'm still going against him now.

JT for the win!

This might be the best fight on schedule after the postponement of Inoue-Fulton.

I think so too, it is quite disappointing that Inoue have to cancel the fight due to the injury.  I was looking forward to their fight because I wanted to see whether Inoue can still have the same devastating power after going up in the weight division.

I am also rooting for Josh Taylor to win here. So it seems like Teofimo Lopez was just lucky against an injured Vasyl Lomachenko and received a gift in his fight against Sandor Martin. No disrespect to Sandor Martin who became known after upsetting and sending former 4 division champion Mikey Garcia into retirement. He was clearly robbed of his victory against Teofimo and still deserved a title fight against any of the current champions. I want to see Josh Taylor end the hype of Teofimo Lopez and then proceed to 147 since already became undisputed in this division. Unless Taylor is still willing to give rematches to his previous close fights to Catterall, Ramirez, and Prograis.

I can say Josh Taylor had the advantage at the first glance but I believe the result of the fight can go either way.  It all depends on who can prepare much better and perfrom well during the fight or who can get a lucky chance to land a solid blow that can KO his opponent.

Yes, and Taylor said he will go back to his old style, and maybe that's his explanation of why the fight with Catterall is close and others see that Jack won that fight. He used a new style that is not suited for him.

And against Lopez, if he can go back on the style that won him all the belts in this division, Lopez might find that this is division is going to be difficult for him, with the likes of Ramirez and Prograis still out there. So most likely in his 3rd fight here, that hype train of Lopez will end again, just like what George Kambosos did to him.

Indeed, he was just lucky that time because Lomachenko was already having a hard time on his shoulder injury and instead of calling the fight to postpone, he chose to participate in the fight where he wasn't 100% in condition. If only Loma and his camp secured a rematch clause, Loma could've bring back those belts that Teo won from him.
Up until now, Teo was getting lucky after he made the climb at 140 pounds but this will be the end, he may be hyped but not enough to take down Josh Taylor.

About Taylor's climb, I think that's not good for him because 147 is quite stacked for now because there's this man who is keeping the 3-belts in safe keeping without having some fights after he defeated Ugas. Which makes the other boxer unable to move because they are left to fight the boxers under them, which is really disappointing.

I think it's really to big for Taylor to win by KO, I think either Taylor or Lopez the fight will end via decision, but it just hard to pick either Taylor or Lopez because both of them have show a bad performance on their recent fight. My assumption is luck will not always in Taylor since he never lose in this career, so Lopez should be a winner in this fight. I'm a Lopez's fan, so the answer is really subjective Tongue

Teofimo Lopez has finally found a match that could probably give him a good challenge. For sure, there will be no more excuses for him as he is now in a division that he feels comfortable in, unlike his previous one that he had to leave after his defeat to Kambosos, who is not really a great champion as he was fully dominated by Haney in their two fights.

Taylor and Lopez are both aggressive fighters, so for those who are looking for real action, this is it. It should be a toe-to-toe fight.

If Josh Taylor will be in his 100% condition, Teofimo will have no chance. Of course Teofimo is much younger than Taylor but it won't be the determining factor. Teofimo is not anymore the star that he used to be. He even could only secure an SD win against Sandor. So I think Josh will pretty much handle Teofimo despite the latter being the much younger fighter.

The odds provided by Betting Insider Journal has Taylor as the favorite at -148 and Teofimo Lopez the underdog at +116. Fair enough.

It's obvious Josh Taylor is the one who is the real upper hand in this fight and it would really be a major test for Lopez to get through this guy because this is the fighter you can't show some lazy defense because he will gonna finish you in the early rounds. My prediction here is TKO because we already know how strong Josh Taylor is in this weight division and this fight here is his message for his next opponents in the upper division it means he will go to each one of them and they gonna need to watch out. Hope that he will win easily on this one and will gonna move there fast.
Taylor is certainly the slight favorite here, and Lopez will remain the underdog. And I’m sure a lot would agree to this. Although both have almost the same boxing stat, but seeing how Taylor performs in the ring, I would say he totally got the edge over Lopez, and so Lopez should train hard in preparation for this match so he’ll be capable to beat Taylor even when most of us think that it’s quite impossible. But let’s watch and see then until we see it with our own two eyes as who will dominate inside the ring.

It is normal to see Taylor being the favorite since he is the one that has an unblemished record between the two.  Aside from that, Taylor performance on his latest fight is I think better than Teofimo's.  In their last five fights, Taylor had gained and defended his title while Lopez lost his World Championship belt to Kambosos and not be able to get another one except the international lightweight title.  So it is reasonable to see Taylor as the favorite since Taylor had achieved more feat than Lopez in their last 5 fight.

Right, Taylor is the former unified champion here, and in doing so, beat a lot of great champions in the 140 lbs, Prograis, Ramirez. He just have to vacate the 3 belts and keep only one when he defended it against his mandatory Jack Catterall. And so we can say that he is the king of this division. On other hand, Teo Lopez is coming up in this weight class, just 2 fights if I'm not mistaken and against weaker opponents. It's that he is under the banner of Top Rank and so is Josh Taylor, so this might is easy to make. And as what we see in his last fight, we are not totally convinced that he can bring his power to the welterweight and could be just a regular boxer. So it's going to be hard for him specially against the best welterweight. Probably this fight will go to distance and Taylor might break down Lopez here.

Another good fight, but it's really risky for Lopez to take this challenge, he's like beat the best boxer in light welterweight. However he reminds me when he take a challenge to fight with Lomachenko, where at that time Lomachenko is the best boxer in lightweight. The difference is Lopez was beat every boxers easily before fight with Lomachenko, this time he was struggling when he fought Sandor Martin, so I don't really expect Lopez will win this fight.

Remember Jack Catterall was give a good fight with Taylor, but the judges tend to favor on Taylor. I think Lopez must KO Taylor if he want to win, if it goes to distance Taylor should be the winner.

I am surprised Bob Arum did this fight as well. I am not sure who is the bigger draw since both are popular although I think Lopez is slightly the bigger draw especially if we are talking about the US market. This is a big risk to Lopez but this might be the only way for him to beat Taylor who's been inactive and at the same time showed a poor performance against Catterall on his last outing. Catterall did well and might deserve that win but the best of Taylor was supposed to just steamroll him that night.

The fight will be in the US so if the rounds are close, the judges might favor Lopez. Devin Haney should he win over Loma might be next if Lopez wins. Taylor might seriously move up in weight after this win or lose.

Yes, I believed that Lopez is the bigger draw between the two specially if the fight is in the US. Maybe if this push through in UK, Josh Taylor will be the A-side. I think it's a good move by Bob Arum to bring Josh Taylor to US soil to exposed him because not everyone knows that he unify the belt in 140 lbs although he beat Ramirez in Las Vegas. But in his next fight which is against Jack Catterall it was in Glasglow.

So if Taylor wanted to established his name, he should be fighting in the US more often starting in this fight against Lopez.

I think it's not like that, Josh Taylor would've get the fight in UK if that's the deal in this bout but since this fight is going to happen in US soil, they might've got a good deal where they got Taylor's confirmation. As usual, Josh Taylor will be on the A-side because he is the WBO champion and will be a slight favorite among the bookies list. But comparing between the two of them, this will be a hard fight for Teo Lopez because Taylor is not an easy one. Even that 1 year inactivity probably won't have any setbacks on his side.

And most likely that's what the main reason for him to stage this fight in the US. Yeah, he can demand a UK fight, but US soil, there is more money in there, and probably his fans will likely travel to the US too to see him fight. So it's a win win for him, instead of a rematch with Jack which might not be enough money as it will be in the UK. But I agree that this is a hard fight for either boxers, Taylor is the man to beat in this division as he is the former unified champion as he just gave up the other belt because it's hard to defend them to their mandatories. And one mistake is that he chooses Jack as his mandatory and it almost cause him his belt.

Yes, that's it. A good deal was probably handed to him by Teo's camp and promoter that's why Josh said yes and will travel into the challenger's country. Can't really blame him for accepting this new challenge because he probably got more chances to win here compared if he will give Jack his rematch, that's too risky on his side as the score was just too tight and a setback will indeed cost him his belt.

As I observed, Josh Taylor is getting less and less lethal as he aged and his moves are starting to get predictable by his foes. That will likely be the big reason why he will lose his belt in the future. I'm not saying it's Teo but an upset here is not impossible.

True, this is a tough fight for both boxers.  With almost the same record and capability, I think the one who has the better preparation and luck will win.  Honestly, they are evenly match.

The fight is a challenge for both fighters, I have seen Lopez's best performance and so is Josh Taylor, Lopez's last fight was not good because Sandor did not come to fight if Taylor comes to fight then we will have a good fight here, both fighters will be tested here, many think that Taylor has a slight edge over Teofimo but a focus Teofimo can rule out that edge and there's a possibility that he can beat Taylor just like he did to Loma.

Yeah the fight is a challenge for both fighter, even I am having a hard time to which one to bet on that will win the fight.  I think this depends on who is more hungry and more dedicated in winning the fight.  About why other people thinks that Taylor has a slight edge over Teofimo is possibly because of the ring record.  Taylor had not been beaten even once while Teofimo Lopez records got tainted when he fought Kambosos.
