So it seems that Manny has a lot of advisers, I do hope that Pacquiao has one single point of contact, let's say Sean Gibbons, but Sean is in the US and Pacquiao is in the Philippines. So communications could be one hindrance that's why this fight is in jeopardy.

That should not be an issue. Manny just need to agree on the purse and the opponent and I guess Sean Gibbons know him enough and therefore the requirement of meeting in person is not there. BTW, Gibbons recently joked that Julio César Chávez could be a potential opponent for Manny Pacquiao. As we all know... the main issue here is that Chávez is a bit old.. He will be 59 in a couple of months.  Grin

BTW, the latest statement from Mikey Garcia is that he is still "hopeful" about a UAE fight with Manny Pacquiao.

UAE seems to be a good spot for big boxing event now, just recently, Fury announce that the Fury vs Joshua fight is gonna happen in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, so probably we will see this fight in that country as well, or maybe in Dubai, what do you think?

I guess you guys are confusing each other lol.
The guy at the top of this quoted comment says nobody wants to fight Manny just to be tarnished with one loss especially if they're undefeated, instead they want to fight Manny for money.
The guy at the 2nd quoted message responded that there are figthers who actually would like to fight with Manny not only for the money but for the legacy and so he mentioned Ryan Garcia and Terrence Crawford. I'm pretty sure he's well aware of who's Manny Pacquiao's opponent as he have mentioned at the end of his statement that he's bothered with Mikey Garcia's possiblity of imitating Marquez counter puncher against the Pacman.

Anyway, I could be wrong with how I have comprehended the statement but that's what I think it is.

Everyone is excited for this match anyway.

To me it makes more sense that everybody wants to fight him because he is an old man and they can make a lot of money. The risk vs. reward factors are very favorable for anybody that's challenging Pacquaio. Even if you lose you still get a big payday. I don't think anybody is avoiding him, it's just been difficult to get a deal done because of the pandemic.

True, Manny is still a lottery for many boxers in his weight division and they are chasing him for their biggest paycheck. The only problem is, which Mikey high lighted is that they have to go to a lot of channels before they can reach Pacquiao.

Whether what angle you look, this is a good fight as no champion now who is willing to fight Manny. I don't think it's just about the money, maybe they still believe that Manny is hard to beat and that would tarnish their undefeated record. Well, Garcia is not anymore undefeated so he would take this fight, however, we cannot ascertain if this will happen since there's no official statement yet that it's already finalized.

Ryan Garcia is undefeated and so is Crawford and they are more than willing to fight Manny, it's not about the record it's more about the legacy, imagine being one of the guys who beat Manny and get him into retirement, Mikey is a perfect opponent for Pacquiao, I'm just afraid that he will imitate Marquez counter-punching style to beat Manny but let's see.

This is not a Ryan Garcia vs Manny Pacquiao fight, don't be mislead.

Yes, Ryan Garcia is undefeated, no question about that but the one that would fight Manny is  Mikey Garcia, and according to this record that we can find in https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/364679.. he has one loss and that is against Errol Spence Jr.

Two different set of fighters, although Marquez has laid down the blue print on how to beat Pacquiao, it took him a lot of fights before he figure Manny out. and Mikey is not a counter punching great, he loves to go toe to toe.

So I don't think that he will use this tactic or plan if ever this fight will push through. And I'm seeing that he will really go fight Manny and really test him in the early rounds, similar to what Thurman did. But it will be a costly mistake on Mikey (and just like the rest of the other fighters who think Manny is small and can't knock out/down them.)

It would make this fight more interesting if he would really go toe to toe against Manny as that's what he likes. Marquez beat Manny in their last fight but I would not say he is better than Manny because they fought many times and Manny beat him more than once. Some call it was just a lucky punch but let us not argue about that, what's done is done, and let's focus on Manny as he is now the active in the sport.

Yes, it's Mikey Garcia and he had some good fights against Spence Jr. although he loses via Unanimous decision. We still can't underestimate him ad he has 40 fights and 30 wins from KO, that's a good record if you'll ask me. At the division of Manny Pacquaio now, he can find a lot of good fighters to fight, but what's important is they have to agree with the money thing first.

Its not finalized yet and still under negotiation so I think it is uncertain if this fight will happen this year. I read in an article that they were supposed to fight last year but didnt happen due to pandemic so I guess if the negotiation turn out well, this fight might be push through. Its been almost 2 years since the last fight of Manny, many fans are waiting for his next fight but it takes too long. He is no longer young compared to other boxers now but I think age is just a number for him.

Very interesting.

I was really hoping for his fight against Terrence Crawford but then again, no official statement or agreement was made. In this fight, I do hope to see the same energy, tenaciousness, and aggressiveness of Pacquiao against Mikey Garcia.

According to boxrec, this is the current stats of Mikey Garcia:

He is indeed younger than Manny around 9 years but both of them started their boxing careers early. I did watch the fights of Mikey Garcia before and I think this is a safe fight for the two fighters, considering that they are veterans of the ring. This is actually a smart decision in order to increase their investments and winnings.

There is a new interview with Mikey Garcia. He stated that there have been conversations with Pacquiao's representatives but he is not getting his hopes up that they will get a deal done soon. He is already starting to look for other options. It sounds like Pacquiao is asking for too much money and that is the reason why they haven't been able to reach a deal.

https://www.worldboxingnews.net/2021/05/12/exclusive-mikey-garcia-manny-pacquiao/

To be honest, I am not surprised. The same happened with the proposed fight against Terence Crawford as well, if you guys remember. I don't have exact information on how much Pacquiao is demanding for the fight against Garcia. For the match against Crawford, he was demanding $40 million, when the organizers were ready to pay him $10 million as guaranteed purse. He needs to understand that circumstances are not that good. The fight can't happen in Las Vegas, and the gate collection will be low, as a result of the ongoing pandemic situation. I don't think that Pacquiao will fight anyone this year.

It's expected that Manny will ask for big money as he is a star in boxing, he can attract a lot of fans to watch them live and pay the PPV subscription. We don't know what's happening inside, but let's hear the statement of both parties before we conclude, I'm still optimistic though that the fight will happen.

Ok, so it seems Mikey is not lock in to fight Manny Pacquiao. I thought that this is a sure fight already, but since we are already half in May and if there target is really July then there's not much time to prepare isn't it?

So Mikey has every right to look for the next best fight for him and move forward. Manny could have been really busy with his work as Philippine official and or may have other task at hand that is very important to him.

I guess the reason why funding did not push through is that the fight is somehow not that hype. Investors do have the advice of sports analysts with them. Crawford and Pacquiao’s if matched is not thrilling enough for the investors to earn from their shares.

So I guess, they aren’t interested in the match and I think it would push through if Pacman’s opponent is changed to a legendary one too.

But in my own opinion, investors are eye-ing for the rematch of Pacman and Mayweather as we all know that second match would be the largest paid pay-per-view match in the history just in case. All of it because people wanted Pacman to know down Mayweather.

Investment wise, indeed even this two figthers are already past from their primes but the rematch would bring interest to viewers who love seing this two inside the ring again.

I agree that investors are still trying to work this things out to rinse more money than to any match up that they'll going to arrange.

The potential profits still high since there are still PPV and the gambling industry that also sources of potential profits.

A fight against Mikey Garcia should not be too hard to make but we have yet to hear anything official. If this fight was happening in July then this would be around the time they would start their training camps. The inactivity can't be good for Pacquiao and the longer he remains out of the ring the better it would be to just remain retired.
I don't get Pacquiao though, he should've retired after his defeat against Marquez but he is still pushing on, I admire that he did fight still but there should be a limit and he should retire with his last fight already a win. By the way, I think training camps don't work like that, I think that there should be an announcement of the fight first before doing training.

Manny seems became greedy for money as he have an ambition to became a higher official in Philippines, maybe thats the reason why he didn't left boxing yet since he needs money for running his wants. For me he really needs to retire since he already got a name on this industry and if he's unlucky to get a career ending disease brought by receiving a heavy punch for sure he will regret why he didn't retire while his body still in shape.

Manny has been in the business for more than a decade, and he is not only a fighter now, he is also a promoter who already knows how to run the business. I'm sure he has a backup plan and he can still get a fight this year.

For me, Manny is not greedy, he just wants to fight and the majority of the fans would want to see him fighting.
Retirement is only good if you have nothing to give, but the last fight of Manny prove that he still has a lot to give in boxing.
You can really see that he wont really be minding much about the money that he can possibly earn but rather he do aim for the glory that he would get on very fight that he would need to take
on and its true that he had lots of things getting involvement now not only limited to boxing when it comes or in talks of source of income so i dont really see for this to be a greedy move
but rather he just showing off some passion or the love he does have in the sports of boxing.Dont know on why people do keep talking about retirement
because he's the only one would gonna tell on when he would stop.

Why you people are really eager to see on when Pacquiao would retire? He's the only one could tell on when he should stop completely and focus out into his current work or situation.

You can really see the passion into his eyes towards boxing even though he had reached and get that record breaking weight division belts but still he's still pursuing on making some fights.

So its much better on not to mind nor stress yourself on thinking on when he would retire.
It is not that I want Manny to retire, if it was up to me Manny would fight forever but we need to be realistic here, each year that passes he is losing some of his abilities and boxing is a sport that is unforgiving.

In other sports if you happen to retire too late at worst the person will just look way past their prime, but in the case of boxing all what is need is one punch for the life of the fighter to change forever and that is not a fate that I wish for Manny.
