Looks like both are ready for their big fight this Sunday. Magsayo is very confident and issue a warning for Vargas not to run in this fight. And then Vargas says that Magsayo's team added more in their side of training, maybe they acknowledged his talent.

So tomorrow it's going to be the final weigh-in, hopefully both can make it to the limit.

And then the day after, it will be the fight that all Filipinos are waiting for. If Mark will be the next one to carry the flag.

I just hope that height and reach advantage of Rey Vargas won't be used tomorrow so we can see a brawl which i think is advantageous to Magsayo because he is used to this weight category but i doubt Rey Vargas would take the bait.

Yup, Mark Magsayo is now the only reigning Filipino champion, if he loses tomorrow, we will be zero in the record lol so let's just hope that he will defend this belt while entertaining the boxing fans.

Have already pulled the trigger for Magsayo here, if he will win via KO it would be break-even for me as i put some few dollars on that option too.

I'm thinking, perhaps it's best if we will see Vargas uses all his advantages and then Magsayo totally negating it by betting the come in fighter and not giving Vargas any room, like it's a suffocating offense.

Goodluck on your bet mate, a decision bet is not that bad, there are a lot of scenario that is going to happen in this fight. But in all, it should be Magsayo at the end.

I would either bet on Magsayo by KO or Vargas by decision and since I'm betting on Magsayo to win, I would go with Magsayo by KO. It could be a tough fight for Magsayo but with his power, we all know that he is capable of knocking out anyone, so let's support him and be ambitious with our bet.

The fight is all set now, both make the minimum weight at 125 and 1/2 lbs.

Sure war inside the ring between this two great warriors. We all know that Philippines and Mexico has a history of great fights and so this might be added on their storied rivalries.

But I will be biased and support Magsayo in this fight and hopes he win in any fashion, ko or decision.

Yes, both fighters are cut to the bones, Vargas though looks very serious in the weigh-in while Magsayo is calm and smiling, reminds of Manny Pacquiao.

Of course, there are a lot of Filipinos in this thread, you can just look at the votes and see Magsayo winning. But it's very different in the ring. Just wanted to see a good fight and hopefully a knock out as well.

I guess Mark Magsayo surely understands that he is at a disadvantage in height and reach. Vargas on other hand seems it difficult to think that he won't use his height and reach advantage. I'm excited about this match and Magsayo should do his very best.

I don't mind if he will struggle to win as long as he will be the winner. He doesn't need to satisfy other people about how he will win.

Just over a day of sleep and we can now watch this fight. Magsayo for the win!

The odds are in favor of Vargas, as he is a lil bit favored by bookies here.
Magsayo is the underdog so this is good for those who will bet on Magsayo.
Hope to see a very good fight on this one. As Magsayo is seen as one that can continue the legacy of Pacquiao.

Yes, the difference in their height is of course visually very noticeable, I don't think it plays a decisive role, but of course the impressive difference is probably also the operator tried to choose an angle to emphasize how much Magsayo is lower than Vargas.
Not just the height, reach difference too.
70 and a half for Vargas while 68 for Magsayo.
There's a reason why Vargas will keep on running in this fight and that's to maximize the advantage of his reach. Just put in a lot of jabs and try to win a decision.
Magsayo on the other hand should come up with a strategy that will make this fight as close as he can. That's where he will get his KO punch. Let Vargas do his norm of running until he exhausts himself.

Magsayo is quite used to that difference already, actually, he also encountered the same difference when he fought against Rigoberto Hermosillo last October 2020 but Magsayo managed to dominate the Mexican boxer who has almost the same reach and height advantage with Rey Vargas. So, that won't really be a big deal to the Philippine boxer, he just had to have to proper strategy so that he can get as close as possible with Vargas and try to get him KO.

Magsayo will have to double time on his match I have seen Vargas utilizing his height and reach advantage on many of his opponents, his straight right is very effective and he is good at checking the distance, I hope Magsayo is fully prepared for this fight, Vargas is used to fighting fighter shorter than him but Magsayo seldom fights fighters that are very tall than him.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small

Betting for Mark Magsayo in this fight and I will be taking my chance for Magsayo , and the Odds is also good .

Just trust him so you will not regret it, looking at the picture, it scares me a bit as I don't expect that there's a huge difference in height. I guess Magsayo has to play smart here, he cannot be complacent as Vargas could use his height and reach as his advantage to score all throughout the fight.

It's better to look at the highlights of his previous fights than looking at the picture so you can see the real picture. Vargas may have the height advantage but I think Magsayo has the stamina and power to Knock out and opponent, so he has to be careful with that if he wants this fight to end longer.

If he can do that successfully, then he might win the fight. But based on the what I see in youtube, Vargas has been down 3 times in different opponents in the past, and although he stood up and win the fight but we can see that he has a weakness.
But Vargas is still undefeated, IIRC, I believe Magsayo was also knockdown in the past and the same as Vargas, he stood up continue and win the fight.
This is definitely hard to guess as both are undefeated, so bet according to what you believe, follow your mind.

If Magsayo will caught him clean, a KO punch would be great to see.
That's for sure, I like to see that.

Looks like that will be their game plan, jab jab and to bust Magsayo, that is if he can land and that is jab is so stiff and that it will put a dent on Magsayo's face.

And he has to throw it like going down, so it will take a lot of effort instead of like horizontal punch. I think Magsayo will become the aggressor and target the body because Vargas is so tall. He has all the blue print on how to beat a taller guy, just watch Manny destroys Chris Algieri or even Antonio Margarito.

I guess everyone is now excited as the fight is getting nearer, here is the Press Conference:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSR5C3sst-g

Move forward to 17:12 for Magsayo's question and answer, Magsayo is looking for a knock out guys, and he said straight it to Vargas, bro down run too much, so that we will give a good fight to the fans, hehehe.

That's why he has to work hard and improve his stamina so he will last and he would still have the power in the end. This is a firepower fight because Vargas is also a legit challenger, he has more fights and has a better KO rate, so it's not really easy for Magsayo that's why he is listed as an underdog despite he is the champion.

Yes, Vargas is a KO orchestrator and it won't an easy fight for Magsayo, he needed to defend his belt and need to continue enhancing his skills, more footworks and good defensive stop, he have the intelligence to work on observing how Vargas will attack and throw those punches, Magsayo needs to have an extra effort to condition his body before the fight, expect Vargas to be more aggressive challenging him in the early rounds.
