I think the OP should locked this thread now.

We already see Garcia passed the test against a good opponent in Campbell.

If ever it will be Haney or Davis or whoever, then probably someone can open a thread it in the future.

I deliberately delayed the locking of this thread as i feel that there are so many things to discuss about the future of this young kid, Ryan Garcia but then again everything has to end and as usual i would like to thank you guys for the lively discussion on this fight.

Will create or someone might if in case Garcia would fight again.

Locking the thread now.

^^ Yes, he has the talent, but there are still a lot of work needs to be done by Ryan to be a complete fighter. I agree that he needs to move a lot and defense must his top priority. He already has the power, but he will be caught sooner or later just like what Campbell did to him.

So he should get his hands up every time, his chin has been tested, but if Davis or Lopez who hits harder than Campbell then it could be a perfect KO.

If he continue to fight like this sooner or later he'll face a good defender and hit him up with a solid punch, like what you have said, Campbell made a hit and bring him down.

It can be repeated by another opponent knowing that every camp are capable in reviewing every figthers style, it can be prepared and use aginst him.

Garcia needs to work this out, too much aggressiveness can fireback to him,
he needs to adds more footsteps and good timing.

"I don't have time for celebrations. I'm on one mission. I'm on a mission to knock out Gervonta Davis in two rounds ... This man will go down. Two rounds -- that's a promise," Garcia said.

Garcia calling out Davis and says that he is going to knock him out in two rounds,  Grin

I haven't seen Davis responded yet, but I'm sure he will go to the public and this will be a verbal war. But in order to make a lot of money, fans should be allowed, so let's wait and see.

Another possible option for Garcia is a mandatory fight with full WBC champion Devin Haney. The World Boxing Council is planning to order that contest in the very near future.

This is more realistic fight in my opinion, get the full and regular WBC belt from Devin Haney first then go for reunification with either Davis or Lopez. But this is less money for Ryan Garcia.

At least we can expect some big fights after this, he was tested and he passed, so I guess he'll be alright either of these boxers he might face in the future. Ryan Garcia is a special Kid, he got the power and the hand speed, but of course he needs to train more, train on his defense and foot speed I guess so he will become a complete fighter.

I've just watched the highlights of the fight. That was a battle, a toe-to-toe battle. But the younger fighter indeed proved that he is more than just a rising star. He is not just a potential star either. He is now the star.

Campbell, although 11 years Garcia's senior at 33, proved to be someone who is worthy to test Garcia's skill and power. That left hook which dropped Garcia for the first time in his entire budding career somehow tested Garcia's will inside the ring. And I was really amazed that Garcia, however young he is as a professional boxer, didn't feel small after that. He must have been shocked by Campbell's power but it didn't stop him from attacking and being aggressive.

Garcia though he was down but he was not hurt, he was still fighting that round so maybe the reason why one of the judges scored 10-9 in favor of Campbell. It was really an exciting fight, though Campbell lose but people respected him as knocked down Garcia which is almost unbeatable.

Yes, it will go down history lane. Garcia has a lot of potential and he is just beginning to realize some of it. He will become a more respected fighter in the future. He will create some more history of himself. He will definitely become a bigger name in boxing as he gets older. But he will not erase that point in his career when he is knocked down. And it was Campbell who did it. Campbell is a great fighter, no doubt about it. But Garcia has more that what he's got.

The Haney vs. Garcia fight will be ordered soon by the WBC. In my opinion this is the most underwhelming option for Ryan. If the opportunity to fight Teofimo Lopez or Gervonta Davis in a big PPV fight is presented, then he should disregard that order and fight either of those guys instead.

^ What do you mean? There was also an upset here, when Ryan Garcia went down in the 2nd round and those who beat on Campbell thought that they could have won big time. But Ryan proved that he is more than a pretty boy in the ring, get up and finished the fight. So it is not an easy win for him, but show that he has hurt and have recuperating power as he admit he was dizzy after that big left hook from Campbell.

I wasn't much interested in this match, but I read about the controversy surrounding the scorecard, after Ryan Garcia won the match by TKO. It is really bizarre when two of the judges (Mark Lyson and Glenn Feldmann) have a 10-8 score, and the other judge (Rey Danseco) has the round at 9-10. If Danseco was the sole judge, then Luke Campbell would have won the match. Incidents such as this one gets fans disappointed with boxing.

Who will be the next to fight with Garcia?

As others have said, Ryan should be in line to fight Haney as he is the mandatory fo Haney's belt. Both has showed interest so it's up to their managers to sit down and talk about this next big fight in 135 lbs division.

I do hope that both camp will settle and agree with the split, could be 60-40 or 50-50 split favour of Haney since he is the regular champion while Garcia has the interim belt.

Regardless of purse, this is a win-win situation for Garcia, I wanted to see him get into the ring with Haney first before Tank Davis. Haney although doesn't have the knock out power, is still one of the best in the division, so let's see how and what he can do against Haney first.

It's going to be a good fight, Haney beat Garcia several times when they are both in amateur, it's a good chance for Ryan to avenge those losses, and Haney wants to show Ryan he is a superior fighter than Haney, they both have a grunge to settle so it's going to be  must watch fight and it will excite the boxing community.

That is really going to be interesting to watch. Can Garcia win this time? As they have past history, this will be very compelling to watch from both sides. But is Haney still under the watch of Mayweather? Maybe he will influence Haney on how to win the fight by technicalities.  Tongue

Haney is a tactician, that's why others see his fight boring, but he gets the job done like Floyd is.

And that's what make a Haney vs Garcia very compelling indeed, a very aggressive fighter with power like Garcia versus a good ring IQ like Haney, it could be a chess match. So I would agree that a Haney fight will again redefine how good Ryan Garcia and then he goes after the two top dogs in the division, Davis and then Lopez.

It always having fun to see their fight, it seems more aggressive than Garcia has shown even though how many times he has received a hotshot from Campbell.

Just watching this video, the highlight of Ryan Garcia vs luke Campbell's fight.

I think Garcia is ready for this, he can win without a doubt, but believe me I'm bias here, after seeing this fight, I realized how good and strong Garcia is and he can win any fighter even the champion in front of him. Let's make this happen, people would really love to see this.
