It appears some people are speculating that Gervonta Davis is not that good after Cruz hehehe. In reality, Gervonta Davis’ poor performance for the fight versus Cruz was because of an injury of his left hand that might have occurred in round 5.
but even round 5 , Cruz is already going against Davis with good throw of punches (But not enough to beat Davis lol.

Quote
In any case, Ryan Garcia appears that he wants to fight Gervonta but he also said that team Mayweather never gave him an offer. Ryan Garcia is not very active and oddsmakers might make this near equal, I reckon. Both have the ability to win versus one another.
Garcia is in the line for Tank Davis , but of course this is a decision the division must decide so no matter how they wanted to face each other yet they are not the one who will decide.

My prediction for Gervonta Davis versus Isaac Cruz is the rounds range betting available in sportsbet.io. This might be Gervonta Davis winner and in rounds 7-9. I am only guessing this hehe.

However, it is very clear that Gervonta will win this and the total rounds they are offering is low. It is 6.5 rounds and this favors the over. Also, Gervonta Davis to win through a knockout, they are offering only odds of 1.21. Calculating from that information, I speculate if there is a knockout it might be near round 7.

@bisdak. What is your opinion of this?

Devin Haney is not fighting someone you are calling Garcia. He is fighting Jojo Diaz. This might be a decision victory for Haney, I reckon.

I agree with you, Devin Haney has not won via KO for a long time now lol. Against an aging Gamboa, he has a hard time disposing of the latter, seems to me that he can't KO Diaz either.

With the options/markets below I'm going for the KO since it is not so attractive to bet for a decision win by Haney but I'm not hopeful he could do that, purely gamble for me  Grin.

Diaz is going to have to fight THE fight of his life to have a 50/50 shot against Haney. Haney is a sharpshooter with better speed and longer reach.  Diaz is going to have to cut off the ring like a master and get rough and nasty on the inside. If this fight is on the outside even 50% of the time...its likely beyond reach for Diaz ( no pun intended). One thing in favor of Diaz the longer the fight goes and the nastier he makes it the more exposure Haneys chin gets

However, I agree. The lightweight division has more fighters who can challenge for the championship versus Kambosos. Leaving aside Lomachenko and Haney, there is Gervonta Davis who is WBA regular champion and also the young Ryan Garcia.

It appears we have forgotten about Devin Haney after excitement of Kambosos’ upset versus Lopez. It also appears that Kambosos wants to unify all of the lightweight championships and he has declared that he will fight the winner of Jojo Diaz vs Haney before fighting another opponent. This other opponent I assume would be Lomachenko hehehe.

So much is going in the lightweight division, there are a lot of great fighters here, and whoever comes out the real undisputed will be one of the greatest,  Devin Haney is taking Garcia serious, Garcias in one interview says that he will be a dog and chase and knock him out, this is tenacity against skill I believe Haney will take care of business and beat Garcia because of his superior skills and ring generalship, he may not be a hard puncher but his skill is something that will disappoint the best puncher in the industry.

@Vannie12. Did you read the article are do you really read the news? They did not accept defeat. Teofimo Lopez’s father continues to talk like they did not lose hehehe.

@bisdak said in another thread that Teofimo Lopez’s victory versus Lomachenko was a fluke. He also said that Lomachenko is the biggest name in Lopez’s young boxing record. He is clearly correct hehe. Why do the boxing experts in this subforum not share this type of information before the fight hehehe.

In any case, Fulton vs. Figueroa was also very good. It was a majority victory for Fulton. I think it was a better fight than Lopez vs. Kambosos.

He still fights Vasiliy Lomachenko I think that is enough even though there are critics with his win and I surely understand that, because Lomachenko is a rhythm fighter that will always look and wait for an opportunity to strike, while Teofimo was very aggressive in that fight and for me, he sure throws many punches than Lomachenko while with the Kambosos fight Kambosos really focused and determine and was really true to what he had said that he will play fire with Teofimo Lopez, and he never backs down from the fight.

And now on to the next event that I have seen, and I think this is pretty much interesting and will be for the WBC lightweight title

The only adjustment that Teofimo Lopez Jr. is expected to make is adding five pounds to his frame.

I don’t need no rematch, man. My mistake was leaving my son at 135 for so long,” Teofimo Lopez Sr., Lopez’s father and head trainer told SecondsOut’s ‘Radio’ Rahim Davies after Saturday’s DAZN-streamed main event.

“We’re gonna go up to 140, we’re gonna get a fight in February and then fight [lineal/WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO champ] Josh Taylor (18-0, 13KOs) in the springtime,”

Well, I admire them for being a sport to accept the defeat. It was indeed a great fight. Putting up a bit of a weight might ne challenging since they have to get use to it and carry himself with speed. I have noticed that Teofimo does have that its just Kambosos was a difficult opponent for him. Hoping he would train harder. I'm a bit of a fan.

The storyline for Teofimo Lopez’s father continues as if they had the victory and clearly remains to appear to be delusional of his son’s loss. There would be no chance for Josh Taylor to fight Teofimo Lopez after a loss. He should first fight in a rematch vs. Kambosos and regain all of the championships.

This will be a good opportunity for Lomachenko, I reckon. He will challenge Kambosos after a win vs. Commey then move up and challenge the undisputed champion Josh Taylor as also an undisputed champion. Lopez’s plan will be Lomachenko’s plan hehehehe.

For me the Lopez - Kambosos really lived to its hype, there's a lot of drama involved in the build-up, in the conferences and weigh-in even at the start of the fight, Lopez makes us all believe that he can knock Kambosos out in the first out, it's the biggest upset of the year for me, many looked down on Kambosos and many believed that this a tune-up for Lopez for big fights, but many of us are wrong and proved that Kambosos proved to be a better fighter, have you all noticed how audiences are booing Lopez after he stated that he wins the fight by 10-2, he is very delusional and drunk on his success.

He will realized that he made a mistake with his statement once he watches the entire fight. If he will insist that he won on this, I guess a lot of his fans will unfollow him. He is not showing sportsmanship after this fight because of all the drama surrounding before this fight, he is full of himself that he will win on this fight at early rounds. But Kambosos was ready and showed his power inside the ring and gave him the 'slapping' he needed in the last 2 rounds.

The boxing world lost respect on Teofimo for arguing that he won the fight 10-2 and even his father is insisting that his son won the fight by a wide margin and on all rounds, someone close to them should tell them straight to their face that Teo loss the match and Kambosos is the clear winner of the fight, Teofimo is hav ing second thought of a rematch because he is afraid now of Kambosos power.

Agreed. In all honestly I did not follow everything about Lopez before the fight. I am only watching some of the videos of press conferences and the preparations and it appears that Lopez has lost his priority in the sport and has become something similar to Conor McGregor. This can also be blamed to his father, I reckon. The father’s behavior is not very good for his son’s career. They should return all concentration only to boxing and training.

I am not a big fan of boxing but sometimes i watch the matches when i heard upcoming matches here or on other boxing threads.

Just one question, what are the boxing biggest tournaments like in other sports for example in Cricket we have world cups, in football we have fifa wworldcup or Euro cup etc ?
While I do a quick research about your question, I think AIBA World Boxing Championships is the biggest and prestigious Boxing Championship. It is the highest level of competition for the sport, but maybe I am wrong since I am not a fan of boxing and do not watch boxing tournaments too often.

You can find the article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIBA_World_Boxing_Championships and Google for more results.
It says that it's for amateur boxers, they make amateur boxing tournaments. It should be boxing titles that are the most prestigious not tournaments.
There's a different format in professional boxing and those sports that mentioned compared to it. That's why we often see champions defending their title at any time a challenger comes.
In many sports, there are different levels for different athletes that will match and they can not compete with the athletes who have higher levels unless those low-level athletes can beat all of their competitors to try to challenge high athletes.

That is what we see when the champions defending their title from the challenger come. If the challenger can win from the defending champions, he deserves to lift his position from an amateur into a professional athlete.
The guy asked if there's a grand tournament for boxing but it's really a different thing from those mentioned. Well, I guess it's one of the grandest that we can ever say inspite of being an amateur boxing tournament. As you've said, you're not a fan of boxing and the format is really different so I think that's not the highest level as per se. Just as we know that there are different titles to be defended by champions and that's where it makes the difference from the other sports.

It's just hard for them to swallow their pride because after all this time they were underestimating Kambosos and thinking the fight was not really necessary to give Lopez his 100% in their training. Guess what? Kambosos surprise them and they cannot do something about it. The guy just doesn't know to back out because he can take punches from Lopez. That's what surprises them and in the end, they're just having some delusion where they thought they outscored Kamobosos and have won the fight where in reality what really happened was the exact opposite of what was happened.

actually there is nothing wrong in sometimes claiming that you win if the fight is close enough to find your advantage , but claiming to be winner 10-2? and the obvious outcome is you are the loser in majority?
this is what we called a sick Boxer and never to be respected.
we knew that there are some wrong outcome in boxing as we are watching the fight closely and sometimes the scoring really does not count to what is to be the one, but in this fight we clearly see that Kambosos takes the advantage and winner by majority .
