just some update on this thread regarding the fight of Jacobs vs  Ryder:

John Ryder Rallies in Second Half To Shock Daniel Jacobs By Split Decision

Quote
John Ryder earned a shot at WBA super-middleweight champion David Morrell with a split points decision over Daniel Jacobs at Alexandra Palace in North London.

In a fight of two halves, Jacobs cruised through the first half as Ryder struggled to find the range, before dramatically coming on from round seven.

The decision looked harsh on Jacobs, who appeared to have a shut-out in the first six rounds and came back into things late on. But Jacobs seemed to bring problems on himself, as he switched to southpaw, which seemed to suit Ryder more than him.

https://www.boxingscene.com/john-ryder-rallies-second-half-shock-daniel-jacobs-by-split-decision-results--164088

I haven't watch the fight but in paper it seems that Jacobs would win this fight.

However, it looks like Ryder as per the article rallied on the second half of the half and winning the fight by a split decision. Jacobs might be shot, lost his prime already. How can he left this fight slipped as this is important because he could still have a chance to become a world champion?

What are the next few interesting boxing matches in the coming days and weeks?

The most recent i can see is the one between Jacobs and Ryder on this Saturday, day after tomorrow. The next one is between brook and khan on Feb 19 but the most awaited one will be on April 30 between Taylor and Serrano.

In addition to the upcoming fights you mentioned there is also the rematch between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano next month. Although this is not the Charlo that was earlier rumored to be fighting against Canelo, this twin is also an interesting fighter. He is after all no less than the unified world super welterweight champion. This match will finally decide as to who among the two is the better man after a split draw last year.

But all these are not really mega fights. Especially compared to the Fury vs Whyte match in April.

Yeah, the first fight was controversial, Castano has more power shots as per stats but Charlo won the fight and ended up in a split draw. So this is a rematch and for the unification.

Charlo didn't win the fight. The fight ended with a split draw. Split draw means one fighter won in one of the judges' scorecards, the other won in another judge's scorecard, and the third judge scored the fight a draw.

The fight was a great fight. It was a unification bout. Various belts are on the line. The upcoming rematch on March 19 will be an equally exciting battle, if not more exciting than the first one. Four titles are on the line. This is going to be a tough fight for each other.

It was a very close fight, in the first two rounds, both boxers are exchanging blows like they were testing each other who will go down first but Charlo backed down on that challenge. After that, Castano unloaded and rained powerful punches to Charlo but luckily Charlo survived it. The last 2 rounds were the toughest ones, they both owned each round that resulted a draw to the fight.

This upcoming fight, it will be more tough and intense as both boxers are putting their titles on the line. Let's see it soon who will be hailed as the champion.

Looking at the schedule of matches from ESPN. I have no idea who's going to be a good match to watch.

https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/12508267/boxing-schedule

Anyone who has a good insight and has followed any of the boxer on that schedule that's interesting to watch?

There are plenty of fights but you don't have to watch everything, it's all up to you, you watch the fight that you know who is fighting so you will get entertained. As for me, I am more interested to watch fights especially if it's a championship fight.

This month, I'll be watching the following fights.

- Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook
- Jerwin Ancajas vs. Fernando Martinez
- Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Vincent Astrolabio

Yes, there are too many matches and that's why I'm asking which are the matches that are interesting to watch since I'm not familiar with all of them. And that's why in particular, I'll just try to watch those that have been suggested and seems good to watch.

Those fights that you've suggested were all good.

I guess I'll watch the first and the last in that list.

Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook and Jerwin Ancajas vs. Fernando Martinez are the fights worth watching I'll skip Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Vincent Astrolabio, we all know what kind of fighter Guillermo Rigondeaux is, it's boring whenever Rigo is on the ring he refuses and is afraid to engage, the Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook is the most exciting fight to watch I have it in my calendar and we have a dedicated thread for this two warriors.

This is still what I'm waiting for, especially the match between Brook and Khan, I'm really looking forward to this because we already know that this is a reputational gamble and can be said to be a revenge duel.
Apart from that their Psywar is quite interesting so I would like to see the two trade blows in the ring

No doubt we will see a great fight on Khan vs Brook, both boxers are still entertaining though they are not in their prime it's still worth our bet. I guess Khan the underdog would stand a chance against Brook as the latter is not also winning fights in his previous fights.
I checked their last bet and brook is the underdog in this match. but indeed this is quite reasonable because it is possible that khan is currently underdog because indeed his weakness regarding his chin has been exposed to the public and of course brook will definitely take advantage of this well.

But indeed this is a fight full of revenge and it could be revenge for brook.
I still haven't decided on a champion until now because the two are quite balanced in my opinion.

Canelo has been offered a two-fight deal. Here's the article:

Quote
Canelo Alvarez is in the process of finalizing his plans for 2022. Alvarez and Eddie Hearn are on the verge of completing a two-fight mega-deal with Matchroom Boxing, according to reports. The deal would pay Canelo as much as $85 million to fight on DAZN, and would see him take the ring next in May for a bout with Dmitry Bivol. Should he win the fight against Bivol, Alvarez would be scheduled for a highly-c0veted September trilogy fight with Gennadiy Golovkin, per Mike Coppinger.

Sources: Canelo Alvarez & Eddie Hearn are closing in on a two-fight deal for the star’s return to DAZN.
Fight 1: Dmitry Bivol on May 7 at 175 pounds
Fight 2: Gennady Golovkin on Sept. 17 at 168 pounds
Canelo Alvarez’s boxing plans for 2022, revealed

What do you think about this guys? Seems like Eddie Hearn have another plans for Canelo Alvarez this year, I hope this is true as I'm also rooting to see a GGG vs Canelo Alvarez Trilogy.

It is until April 30 I don't know further than that.

Yeah, I think the date is still April 30. No hype in this fight because unlike women's MMA, women's boxing doesn't have that much media attention.

But this is a superfight, two legitimate women's boxer, Serrano has a knock out power, but Taylor is a volume puncher. Hopefully women's boxing could somehow gain attention as well like their counterpart.

As for Jacobs, he continue to fight after his lost to Canelo, he took a hiatus and then went up in weight and continue his boxing career. So it's good that he will have a fight early this year.

Was surprised to see the name of Daniel Jacobs there, I thought that he has retired or something because I never heard his name after the fight with Canelo.

Of course the Khan vs Brook is anticipated specially for UK fans. This two have been in the mix for years and the fight never materialised. But now, when they are way past their primes, this two domestic rivals will finally met.

Crawford is a skilled boxer, so even if he is out of Arum's management, he will find a way how to find good fights. Even if at first, he will not get what he wants, but if he will continue fighting the best and not choosy, he will rise up. So with or without Arum or any known promoter, Crawford will make a name depending on his power inside the ring. The promoters are just secondary when it comes to real achievement of the boxers.

There are still a lot of great promotions that he can go to manage his fights but he must pick the right promotion, Bob Arum failed him for not getting the fights that he wants the promotion that he should get is the promotion that he can secure him a fight against Spence and some other big fights he has the skill and the power to become on the top 3 pound for pound best fighters of this generation.
Arum is partly to blame, but I think Crawford did get the fights, he won the belts in the 140 lbs and 147 lbs. Maybe the opposition though is not that tough and that's what critics are saying.

So if ever he will sign with a new promotional contract, he should demand fights that the fans want and not just fight anyone so that at the end of his career, he will be judge as one of the best in the generation and not just another name or another champion and of course he could get more money being the champion.
