Live with peace and enjoy life!
Shakur should not take it too seriously, so Frank Martin will be interested in fighting him. Because if Shakur comes out dominant again, no one would want to dance with him in the ring unless they are a mandatory opponent.

Shakur should perform well on this fight so that he could get to dance with the big boys of the lightweight division. Top Rank boss, Bob Arum has a plan to pair him with Loma or Devin Haney if he comes out impressive on this one.

But the thing with Shakur is that if his opponent is not aggressive, his fight tend to be boring too, i hope not on this one as i want him to defeat Haney who robbed Loma on the latter's last fight.

Shakur vs Loma would be a good matchup. Please, no Haney. Let Haney successfully move with a win, so they'll not meet, as we know the fight would be too boring to watch. People might not watch it, and promoters will not make money.

The controversy that Loma got robbed; he could redeem himself if he could beat Shakur, and I'm sure Haney will come aggressively asking for a rematch.

Obviously Shakur is way below the 135 pounds limit. Nevertheless I don't see any problem with it. There's some trash talking during the face off, however, I understand that Edwin speak little English. But obviously, boxing has no language barrier, someone's ass gonna be whoop this weekend though.

Shakur initiates the thrash talk and Delos Santos has his corner to translate for him, Shakur is just playing Shakur we know that he is always like that imposing his character and his will against opponents that he think he can beat, we hope De Los Santos will surprise him and not intimidated comes fight night, this is an exciting fight to watch because both fighters have a good record, but Shakur has too much experience against De Los Santos so I'm sure he'll come out the winner and could be a stoppage in the latter rounds.
There could be some translations, but I don't know how effective could have been if they really understand each other perfectly. I still remember Broner giving Marcos Maidana a lot of trash talking but then during weigh-in but Broner face has no emotions because simply he don't speak English and so he doesn't understand what Broner is trying to say.
You mean Maidana showed no emotion... But in that fight, that's where the career of Broner got ruined because Maidana humiliated him with his vicious attacks. However, Shakur is different because he is at the top level. When Maidana fought Broner, he already had Mayweather as a problem in their fight prior to that, so we can say that he really is a great boxer.

But I do agree that with Shakur experience fighting high caliber boxers, it could be just like a tune up fight for him. And hopefully Frank Martin, his original opponent will be next for him so that we will see a almost level fight as Martin for me is a level up compare to Edwin.

Looking at how De Los Santos moves, I believe Stevenson can score an easy knockdown against De Los Santos.  De Los Santos is left very open every time he throws his punches.  See the videos, his hands are too far for defense when he throws power punches.  I think this kind of defense will be easily exploited by Stevenson so I believe that Stevenson will win this fight via knockout.
]
Almost same observation here , and that Delos Santos Weakness will make Him lose if not Knockdown
not Unless he will change this or trying to use as trap for Shakur then he has no chance of winning (or maybe Lucky punch)
Stevenson's ability to win is almost 60% while only 40 for Delos Santos.

Actually Am not a fan of either Boxer But have watched several fights of them to observe
As I am also planning watch because there are no interested fight anytime soon to enjoy .

So, it's a go. But isn't this fight happening tomorrow? So, it's not yet the weekend, unless we have a different timezone. But anyway, thanks for the update. Although this fight isn't as hype as the fights of the KO artist, I'm interested to see how De Los Santos would solve the problems Shakur's opponents have faced in the past.

I don't know mate, I have a feeling that Shakur might go in this fight and trying to proved himself in this division. So he will be looking for a KO win, and definitely I think he will be fast here. I'm thinking that he will go enough for the body of Edwin and test it out.

And he is the taller guy, I'm not saying the bigger but the taller in terms of height. It looks like Edwin is a big smaller in this division. I mentioned this because I'm again, seeing that Stevenson will take advantage of his height and length and jab and then look for the body of Edwin to try and soften him and then he will take the heads later.

That's a wild imagination, my friend. But of course, we never know what could happen here. As Shakur is a proven winner, he would easily win through points since he is quicker. However, if he looks to impress the fans and not be tagged as a boring fighter like Haney, then he should probably go for the knockout win against a boxer who's never been KO'd.

We will see, that's quite appealing odds for a KO for Stevenson, specially if he will do it in under 10.5 rounds. And if someone either bet on that, it's going to be a big win as the odds is above 3.xx which is very attractive.

So let's see how Stevenson will perform here, I'm starting to like this kid, so I will go with him winning via KO.

Nothing is great by betting on a huge odds like it and there could also a chance that you could score a KO because he needed a signature win in this division.

That KO odds for Steveson is tempting indeed but Shakur is unpredictable with the KO win, i mean he doesn't always go for that kind of win, he will not force the issue if the chance is not there that may be the reason why bookies believed that this fight would go the distance especially that De Los Santos is not a push-over fighter.

Here is the weigh-in:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEKIQ0bW_0k

Stevenson - 133.8 pounds
De Los Santos - 134.3 pounds

Conceicao - 129.3 pounds
Navarette - 130 pounds

So gonna be hard to predict the fight. But if we are looking for a good odds, then yes, winning via KO is good as the odds is still as high as 3.x something. As maybe De Los Santos might just be good in paper, but when they go out in the ring, he will be overwhelmed by Shakur's technical ability and he can't adjust and then just being bully in the ring by Stevenson's boxing IQ.

The only good thing about De Los Santos is that he has a high KO rate; other than that, I don't see anything special about him. I'm sure Shakur has fought opponents before with a better resume. Since De Los Santos is a KO artist, he will likely play his style and chase Shakur to try to knock him down. So, there's a big chance that Shakur could also win via KO, as De Los Santos would be vulnerable if he keeps chasing while disrespecting the power of Shakur and not maintaining good defense.

That's how technical he is, if things are very different as he plan, Shakur might plan a different route and go to distance but it's not going to be controversial, like in the Herring fight. Or it could be as brutal as the Oscar Valdez fight. He made Valdez looks amateurish in that fight and then knock him down and dominated the fight.

Fighters that we think are going to be underdogs are underdogs come Sunday it will be regular boxing day, where the favorites will dominate or even knock out the underdogs but I'm hoping for a very different scenario, like a huge upset or the underdogs putting up a valiant effort even thought they lose by decision, one case here is the Ngannou - Fury recent fight where we all thought its another favorite underdog scenario, but Ngannou putting a major surprise.
I hope to see this happens in any of the fight this Sunday, just a gallant effort from the underdogs is already good.
People are paying to have a good fight so I hope we'll see something unexpected come Sunday

Yup, at least they will give us a good fight as most probably the underdog will lose here as Stevenson is a clever boxer and him being the loser is a slim possibility. I'm hoping that De Los Santos would engage and take the fight to Shakur because if not, this could become a snore feast as the latter is more of a counter-puncher.

Bookies predict that this would end up in a decision so i'm really hoping that this would not be a boring fight.

The odds are quite appealing, especially with 12 rounds to wait for the KO to occur. While Stevenson isn't known for being a knockout artist, De Los Santos is an aggressive fighter. If De Los Santos becomes careless or desperate, Stevenson might capitalize on the opportunity to land effective counter punches, potentially wearing down De Los Santos.

I agree with your prediction, mate. A 3.30 odds are always more enticing than 1.28.

We will see, that's quite appealing odds for a KO for Stevenson, specially if he will do it in under 10.5 rounds. And if someone either bet on that, it's going to be a big win as the odds is above 3.xx which is very attractive.

Is the odds for a KO win still the same? If that's the case, there's really no incentive to go for a KO win under 10.5 rounds since we have a better chance of winning if we bet on the fight going the distance. Stevenson isn't particularly known for securing victories via KO in the majority of his matches, so we're essentially betting against the odds here. But that's what makes gambling so exciting, it adds an extra layer of excitement.

Great analysis! Indeed, Stevenson has a need to maintain a good reputation in this division since some view him as a boring fighter. Securing a victory via KO could really elevate his status in the boxing world, sparking conversations about the unexpected from Stevenson.

The catch, however, is that Stevenson is already a guaranteed winner. The only scenario where we might face a loss is if the victory doesn't come through a KO. (That's the risk of our bet)

It could be a UD. Shakur is a technical fighter but considerably not a KO artist, he has 10 KOs and 10 UDs under his belt. de los Santos is more of a KO artist than him, he has 16 KOs with 1 L.

Shakur by KO is still a bet to reckon with. The fight might actually do the distance til UD and still Shakur. That's what I think would happen and Shakur by decision 1.37 makes sense for the platform.

Yes, it will be more exciting if Edwin will go and engage and not just talk about it but in the actual fight he is not doing it. However, he hasn't face a opponent as clever or having that high boxing IQ like Stevenson. So it's good to bet that this fight might not go to distance as Stevenson might break Delos Santos in the middle to championship round.

But in any case anyone from Dominican Republic wanted to support their boy and to make history, then yeah, why not go for it and see how Edwin will do and win it for his country and make history. However, for experience bettor, as you have said, it could be a dominant win by Stevenson and uses his counter to negate what Delos Santos can offer and then the fight going into distance like a snore feast.

Shakur by KO is very attractive @3.65, and as per poll he will likely win by this method. And then Shakur by decision @1.38.

The over/under rounds too might be something that we can look at. it's +/- 10.5 rounds.

Everyone looks for for Stevenson right now as there are news that he had a partnership with a shoe company-Reebok. Not sure if I've heard partnership deals before as far as boxing shoe goes, it's mostly on basketball and other sports.

But with this one, Stevenson is breaking grounds and it just proved the hype around him with this partnership.

And maybe this is just a precedent for other great boxers too to be paid by this big shoe company like Nike and Adidas.

Yes it's confirmed they do have a partnership, he is the latest athlete to sign up with Reebok, with this partnership this verified Shakur's status as a superstar in boxing, let's see if he will live up to expectation of his sponsor, yes he will be a huge favorite against Delos Santos but his superstar status will be challenged by the likes of Gervonta Davis, Haney, Romero, Lopez and Garcia he will need to beat them to attain a legit status in this era.
I'm sure Shakur can deal Delos Santos, I just wish Delos Santos will give Shakur a good fight and not just a stepping stone for Shakur's greatness.

By the way if you're interested in their open work out check out Top Rank channel coming in 6 hours as I'm posting this
