^ Correct me if I'm wrong though, isn't it the relationship between Tim and his legendary father is not that good? At least that's how I got it from the news and he has been in boxing without his father's help or influence in his career. So I don't know if he will learn from him father since he is not with his side in any of his fight.

However, Tim can't deny that he has his father DNA and that might be enough to bring him to greatness.

Yes, hard fought match and so it's starts with finding a good sparring partner in order to better prepare him in this fight.

I have not seen that news about Tim, the truth is that if this is so it is very sad because Tim may need the advice and experience of his father, not only the DNA helps here, the boxers in spite of everything have to have a lot of strength of will and have a very high oral, a boxer will always be a person that anything could affect him, some news, even some statistics, although there are boxers that when they see statistics that do not favor them they start to train much harder, and they want to break those numbers, that's something that happens a lot, but only for boxers who have very high morale and who don't care what they say about them, it's different because their personality changes a lot and each person is different.

Ok, news here:

Tim Tszyu moves training camp to the USA

Quote
“I’m going hunting, it’s hunting season,” Tszyu told Fox Sports. “This the biggest challenge there is right now. It’s going to be a big moment in Australian sporting history. I understand everything that’s involved, everything I’m putting on the line, this is why I’m leaving so much earlier. This is why I’ve been busting my arse in the gym the last four months, non-stop. This is all in.”

Yes, Tim is really looking forward to have a difficult fight ahead and that's why he wanted to be in the US as early as November for his January fight with Charlo. Probably he knows what he can offer in this fight that's why he is very much confident in the interview.

But still remember that he is the challenger and so he knows that the task in big ahead of him. His team should put a a strategy. It's not only the power or his chin that is needed here, they should also have a plan in place, maybe 2 or 3 depending on what version of Charlo that they are going to see in this fight.

Tim is already in the States as early as this time and he says that it's hunting time, killed or be killed attitude, listen to this interview:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0gl85j3wQw

And he also said that he doesn't want any distractions, so that is the sacrifice that this boxers will have to do to get their dream, away from family.

Seems to be very confident as well, the attitude of him and his team are very positive and they are looking to shock the world.

Tim Tszyu will hire many spar mates for his preparation with Jermell Charlo and Terrell Gausha is one of them. This is an uphill battle for the son of a legend, Jermell Charlo is not an easy foe. Jermell Charlo is the undisputed champion and in his part, he will train very hard to defend his belts. Tim is dreaming of becoming a great champion like his father and this is a shortcut, if he wins he will earn himself all the belts in one fight.

We will find out next year if Tim learned his lesson from his legendary dad and from the great Manny Pacquiao.

Tszyu had surgery on his hands recently, these injuries were picked up in the fight against Terrell Gausha and have kept Tszyu out of the gym for several months while Charlo is a devastating puncher and not to mention the guy seems to be quite arrogant, in the interview From what I could read he simply behaves as if he doesn't even know his opponent, he has contempt, maybe it's part of marketing but one thing is clear to me, this Charlo is without a doubt the winner on paper and on the day of the fight he will win without having many difficulty. I don't see him losing this fight

Jermell Charlo has been knocking out his last opponents on the way to becoming the best in his division. He is arrogant because he believes he will knock out everyone in the division he is ruling. Jermell has only one defeat but he stopped Tony Harrison and regained his title.

I must say that there are fighters that are really arrogant, for sure you are a familiar with Adrien Broner who trash talk a lot and very arrogant and even at the time he lost the fight against Maidana or Pacquiao, he can't accept their defeat.

Is Tim Tszyu biting off more than he can chew? Is this match-up too early for him? The confidence of Tim is at a high different level. He assures everyone that he has what it takes to win. He feels he has an extra edge and brought up that he was not 100 percent in his last couple of fights and this time he will be able to showcase everything.

We will have to find it out when they square in the ring. Tim Tszyu as well is very confident in his abilities, although not that trash talker like the champion. But he has proven skill wise that he can contend with the power of Jermell Charlo as he has experienced facing power punchers. He was even knock down, but come strong in the next rounds after being down and still win the fight.

The odds is as per Stake, and probably almost the same with other crypto sites as well.

Charlo - 1.30
Tszyu - 3.40

So still, Tim is a 3:1 underdog i this fight, so yeah, very juicy for his fans and supporters because it means that if he won and they bet on him, good amount of money to be win. And as others said, this is fight is still very close as we can't removed that Tim will give everything he good in his title shot against the brandish Jermell Charlo.

He is also been tested by Brian Castano in their first fight, although Charlo take the decision win, it was tough and very close fight and it could go either way. But in the rematch, he blasted Brian and knock him. And so there is no question as how is the best boxer in this division. But now he has a new challenger in Tim, so Charlo will have to go and try to muster his boxing skills if he wanted to remain a champion because his challenger is very tough and motivated to become a 154 lbs champion. This fight will be a chess match, the one that will make the first mistake, might get knock down.

as right now, it is understandable that charlo is the bookies' favourite here on this match. but yes, tim has the chance to make an upset move. but definitely, it would take a lot of trainings and studying of strategies on how to beat charlo and snatch those belts. on this match, i think i would go for charlo but other betting lines may be attractive to bet on. high likely that other MLs will be available in the next month or as the fight is getting closer.

Bettors are already expecting about that too, it's just too hard to see that the undisputed boxer will be the underdog. Don't get me wrong here, I know there is a chance but I haven't saw that case yet. Anyway, if Charlo will be indeed listed as the favorite then I'd be glad because Tim here as the underdog means that his odds to win the fight will be juicy. This might be Charlo's dead end, not sure yet but I'm confident that Tim can pull a good fight on the current undisputed champion, he won't be in this position if he have nothing to offer and the right skills to dethrone the king of the division.

Charlo was a victim of an upset already and this is via a decision against Tony Harisson because of this he doesn't want to leave the decision to the judges again, so I'm sure he will go for a knockout or a stoppage here against the very tough Tszyu both fighters will go all out Charlo not wanting a decision and Tszyu to bring home the crown in Australia, I don't expect an upset but I never rule out an upset Tim has a very good boxing skill and power and he can do an upset against Charlo who sometimes becomes tentative in a fight.
Personally I don't think Jermell Charlo vs Tony Harrison match on 2018 isn't fair, actually even though Charlo landed more punches, Harrison was outboxed him and landed clean punch to Charlo. But Charlo is really hungry and he can knockout Harrison to get back his belt.

Tim Tszyu is really a though boxer, Charlo might loss in this match. He have a strong chin, I'm not sure if Charlo can able to knock out him.

I think Tim earn his spot as the mandatory challenger for Charlo here. So I think he didn't bite more than he can chew, he deserved it. And so it is going to be based how far he is ready here, he need to train very hard as this is a very important fight for him, chasing the belts and of course recognition.

So this is going to be another tough test for the brandish and big mouth Charlo. That defeat though to Harrison is very controversial, and so they set up a rematch and then Charlo defeated him, so technically he has no lost as he avenge that defeat.

Outside the ring, Jim and his dad Kostya is in good-terms and had a great relationship with his father. As far as I know, his dad is not that supportive to his son, Jim, when it comes to boxing. Details are bit blurry and not clear enough why but I assume that Kostya wanted a different life for Jim away from the boxing industry, but even his father cannot deny anymore that his DNA are running through his son including the superiority in the boxing ring.

Jim had a revelation recently and it seems that his father already accepted his son's career, so he decided to support him instead.

Undefeated Australian boxer Tim Tszyu will have his famous father Kostya with him for his world title fight against Jermell Charlo on January 28 in a huge boost to his chances of winning the biggest fight of his life.

Tszyu, 27, believes the hall-of-famer's knowledge could give him the edge in the showdown with the light middleweight champ.

sport is something incredible where things like father and son DNA do not work, in sport everything that works is practice, practicing a lot leads to perfection, practicing a lot leads to victories, of course there are things that can be a natural advantage such as:

Height, big hands, big feet, big arms, naturally strong body... these things are a natural advantage that can't be acquired by training, except the strong body that can be acquired by training a lot.

Just funny though that Tim is getting a sparring partner that he just had beaten, a boxer that has knock him down.

I think he had to choose someone much stronger than he and much stronger than his opponent, with that he could prepare better, but who decided that is him and his team, I don't know how someone he already defeated could be of great help, I know that a fighter improves and that today he can be defeated and in the morning he will be much stronger and defeat the person who defeated him in the past, but in that short period of time for the fight he had to choose someone stronger than him

Some news regarding Tim Tszyu sparring partner:

Quote
One the fighters who Tszyu would love to secure as a sparring partner - is his most recent opponent, Olympian Terrell Gausha.

“If I get Terrell for sparring, that would be incredible,” Tszyu told The Herald. “He’s got great defense, great experience, great timing. He’s aware of all the punches and has great skill. I think Brian Castano used him for his Charlo fight, so that would be perfect.

I think some of us might not know, but getting a sparring partner to at least emulate the style of your opponent is very important for boxers.

Just funny though that Tim is getting a sparring partner that he just had beaten, a boxer that has knock him down. But what's important is the experience that he will get sparring with Gausha and vice versa.

And so it seems the boxing community is excited to see this fight early next year.  Smiley
Correct, but I don't think that he will just one get sparring here, could be multiple and Terrell could be just one of them.

And if I remember correctly, another Australian was used to be a sparring partner of Manny Pacquaio and his name is George Kambosos Jr, he won the belt as we all know against Teo Lopez last year. But lost it twice already to Devin Haney.

Not saying that Tim will have the same path, but maybe his hard work will pay off against Jermell Charlo.

What a way to start the year by having two tough fighters I consider both fighters undefeated Charlo's loss was a fluke he is still one of the most dominating fighters in his division, but Tszyu is capable to wrest the title I have seen Tszyu fight on Youtube one of this is a knockout win against Jeff Horn his fighting style is very much similar to his father, my heart goes to Tszyu but I feel that Charlo has everything to keep the title, he is a more experienced fighter and have fought big names already.

Obviously, this bout is not any other champion vs the underdog fight because we all know that Tszyu can actually turn the table once he feels that he can take Charlo's punches. it just seems like they might gonna give us a more exciting fight than Crawford's next fight. Anyway, I think most of the spectators have already assumed that this fight will be easy for Charlo cause he was already able to overcome most fights like this but he needs to consider not slacking off because Tim can actually knock him out.

Ah yeah, I think compare to Crawford next fight, I think this is more exciting. Nothing against Crawford picking up Avanesyan, but he is a unknown fighter for us.

As compare to Tim Tszyu, who's father is a legend in boxing and has to work his way up to challenge Charlo at 154 lbs.

So we will have to see, Tim is known for his durability, although I'm not counting him as a knock out artist, but he can still deliver a win thru the old and traditional way of hard grind in the full 12 rounds.

12 rounds of the fight would be great, hopefully, we will see a toe to toe fight as these fighters are known to be aggressive. At the opening of the year, we will see a firework, and although most of us think that Jermell Charlo will win but please let us not underestimate Tim Tszyu because he has a heart of a champion.

Just let them be mate, we cannot stop them if they are already inclined to see Jermell Charlo winning. The important thing is that we know that this won't be an easy fight for Charlo and that's what makes it interesting because Tim here, the challenger, is tough enough to test the reigning undisputed champion. KO is not that likely for the both sides, UD or SD will be the nearest possible scenario. So this will be a close tough fight to see.

Yes, and it seems both are also very durable, and so this fight could be UD or SD depending on who the judges are going to view as the winning. Although Charlo proved his power against Castano in the rematch and knock him down with vicious body and head shot.

But Tim might be a different opponent, as what others said, a very tough and durable boxer that might give Charlo a problem throughout the whole fight.

And it good that we hear that Tim has found or at least have a name already for his sparring. I haven't seen his match against Gausha but very interesting choice of sparring partner.

Smiley

Yes, who wouldn't love to see a fight that goes full 12 rounds, a war.

And I as I have said, Tim has a good chin and Charlo will have to bring his power again and see if he can stop Tim here. On the other hand, Tim is going to used his aggressiveness and make Charlo feel everything, his weight, his power and make this a very close fight.

So yeah, we wouldn't mind a 12 rounds, but in any case that Charlo might caught Tim with a good short upper cut, for sure Tim will either go down or back down a bit if he feel that power.
