What should we expect from the teams that were promoted to Serie A this year? Are they here to stay or will it just be a quick stopover and next year they will return to Serie B?

Are any of them likely to stand out against the teams already established in the elite of Brazilian football?
Surely you will also understand how the quality of the performance of the team that was previously in Serie-B and got promoted to Serie-A, they will only be team that suffers lot of defeats so that it is difficult to compete against several teams that have been here for long time, in the end they are relegated again.

There is one team that I think can survive if they are able to create good improvement and that is Santos, they have previously had experience in Serie A and could use that experience to be able to compete in this year edition.

Do you have your favorite @rdluffy? Even though I'm a Flamengo fan, I still don't have much faith in the team for the beginning of the year. There have been many changes in the club's management and I still can't tell if this will affect the team's performance... even the doctor was fired, after 23 years at the club... they hired the legendary José Luiz Runco to lead... many, many changes...

I'm very doubtful this time, even the odds are pretty even, reflecting the current situation

As you said yourself, Flamengo are going to change a lot, and they probably won't be ready yet

But... there's always a but...

If coach Artur Jorge and Luiz Henrique leave, it will be two big losses for the Botafogo team, and could leave the situation equal or even disadvantageous
We saw what happened in 2023 when Botafogo changed coach and lost a championship that was practically won
If Botafogo want to maintain their level and even have a good Club World Cup, they should keep their coach and Luiz Henrique, who was practically the best, or top 3 players who helped the team win titles

Before the Brazilian championship starts, there will be a game called the Supercopa do Brasil, with the champions of the Brazilian championship and the Copa do Brasil
February 2nd - Botafogo vs Flamengo

It's true, we also have the Super Cup, which has also mobilized the passion of many Brazilian fans since it was "resurrected" by the CBF in 2020.
Currently, we have the following teams that have already been champions in this tournament:
  • 1990 – Grêmio
  • 1991 – Corinthians
  • 2020 – Flamengo
  • 2021 – Flamengo
  • 2022 – Atlético-MG
  • 2023 – Palmeiras
  • 2024 – São Paulo

And honestly, I also believe that Flamengo should add its name again and win the Brazilian Super Cup for the third time.

Another subject that I forgot to address was the Brazilian women's championship... last year it was little talked about here, despite the fact that women are receiving more and more attention and relevance. This year, the following teams moved up to the "Série A": Bahia, 3B da Amazônia, Sport and Juventude.

3B da Amazônia, honestly, I had never heard of this team, in fact, I had no idea that there was professional women's soccer in the state of Amazonas, Brazil really surprises me every day lol. Cheesy
I don't believe that Flamengo will have a good season this year, like, win important championships... maybe they will win a Rio de Janeiro championship at most... I'm quite worried about President BAP's management.

The Brazilian league (brasileirão) will only be on hiatus for 1 month, it's not that long. I'm very excited, I hope the smaller teams have their chances to stand out by putting pressure on the strong teams.

Palmeiras should be in the G4 again, but since Abel isn't doing so well, I don't think he'll be the champion. I believe my rival Corinthians should stand out better than last year, renting a triplex in the leader and second-placed teams, I can't wait for the games to start.

I should start betting when I'm more certain about the performance of the brazilian teams, I think betting on the teams that will stay in the G4 for the longest time, around the middle of the championship, could be a good idea.

Great topic @alegotardo, for me we could have a big surprise in this championship, which is the Mirassol team that will compete in the Brazilian elite championship for the first time (and even signed striker Alexandre Pato). They are coming off an impressive rise, I researched a little about this progress and the team showed itself to have an excellent structure and even has a fantastic training center, this team is not in Serie A by chance.

Link (in portuguese): https://ge.globo.com/sp/tem-esporte/futebol/times/mirassol/noticia/2024/09/17/inspirado-no-palmeiras-e-r-15-milhoes-investidos-conheca-o-ct-que-mudou-a-historia-do-mirassol.ghtml

We also have the return of Ceara, Sport and Santos, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to stay in the elite. I will now have 2 teams that I will root for to be relegated: Sport and Fluminense lol  Cheesy

Let's go!!!
Starting my fourth topic about the main soccer championship in Brazil!

In 2024, as always, we will mourn the defeat of our teams' elimination (or even relegation), or we will celebrate their victory. But in 2025, I'm sure we will have much more emotions.

The CBF has already released the calendar for this year's championship, which will be interrupted in the middle of the year because of the Club World Cup and therefore the state games will also occupy a smaller period of the year, starting on January 12 and ending on March 26.

So the Brazilian championship is as follows:
  • It starts on March 29;
  • It is interrupted on June 15;
  • It will resume on July 13, and finally;
  • It ends on December 21.

These are the clubs that make up the main Brazilian soccer league this year:

  • Atlético-MG
  • Bahia
  • Botafogo
  • Bragantino
  • Ceará (⬆️)
  • Corinthians
  • Cruzeiro
  • Flamengo
  • Fluminense
  • Fortaleza
  • Grêmio
  • Internacional
  • Juventude
  • Mirassol (⬆️)
  • Palmeiras
  • Santos (⬆️)
  • São Paulo
  • Sport (⬆️)
  • Vasco
  • Vitória

What are your bets?
We will follow the transfer market and discuss here, until the games start.
