It is starting to be reported here in Brazil that Neymar bought Santos together with an Arab sheikh, that Neymar will have 31% of the club and will be a partner of this sheikh, that is why he returned to play for Santos and left behind a large amount of money that he was supposed to receive at Al-Hilal... how crazy. If this is really true, it is an excellent deal, even with Santos doing badly in recent years, the club is valuable and it is possible to raise a lot of money using sponsorships and marketing...
All I heard is that he bought a property in the Santos region (link). While I was researching, while I was researching, I found this news: about the new acquisition of Neymar

How difficult life is for our star player. He's going to stop using the helicopter to go to training. He's already bought a property near Vila Belmiro. I hope he doesn't skip training to just party.

So it's worse than I imagined. They must have used all the money to bring Neymar and pay for it. They're probably thinking about recovering with him over the next few months, but I have the impression that it won't work.
But Santos did not give much to Neymar even though the amount can be said to be quite large for team like Santos, the agreement has been made and Neymar has also officially become Santos player which may be expected to help them to increase the confidence of other players and can create more dominant force.
No one knows if it can run smoothly for relatively short time because it is only 6 months and with this time I think it is still not enough to be able to change the team to be better unless there is contract extension and Neymar can return to being fit and healthy.
I agree, six months is a very short time for a player to become part of the team, but we are talking about Neymar, anyway, I think it will be a good time and will give Neymar more confidence playing in brazil, since the quality of the players is not as competitive as in the tactical and aggressive football of Europe.

Anyway, it's very nostalgic to see Neymar at Santos, so he has a big challenge to face and carries on his shoulders the responsibility of bringing glory to the black and white team from the coast.

This is Neymar's farewell to Santos. He is fulfilling his promise that he would return to the team... He will only play for 6 months and I highly doubt that Neymar will renew his contract with Santos until the World Cup. The current Santos team is not a competitive team and a player like him will look for a club that has the possibility of being champion, especially since his goal is to play in the World Cup next year.

I think he is gonna see how his body react first.

If he feels very good and Santos made a super campaign he is gonna stay if not i can see him leaving and going to Miami with his old friends Messi and Suarez. Retirement in USA and maybe just maybe last World Cup also for him coming from the bench.

He's just here to gain confidence and try to get back to his peak at some point. Then he'll go back to Europe or any new good opportunity to retire. I believe those are his intentions at the moment. So let's wait and see what we can expect from him now.

I believe that this contract extension should be disregarded. He is here because he could no longer stand being in Saudi Arabia, and there he would have to work. If he wanted to play football he would have stayed there, so all he wants now is to party and play as little as possible.

Thanks you both for the explanation.

Yes clearly we always have more emotional games against the teams from your same area, for that the derbys of each city still being relevant no matter how big you become, so in the regional way is the same.

I was always surprised on how well some minors teams plays in this regionals tournaments.

Brazil is a very large country, with many states and MANY soccer teams, several divisions and several categories of amateur soccer
I think it's the only country to have state championships
It's already been explained very well and I would add that it's an incredible opportunity for small teams to play against the best and biggest teams in their state, bringing interesting games to small towns, as well as being a unique opportunity for fans to watch great players

If you're curious and want to follow more, there's a thread on Brazil's state championships created by our friend criptoevangelista: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/brazil-state-championships-2025-discussion-thread-5523774

It's not easy to bet in state championships, there's a lot of surprises like small teams doing their best to play against bigger teams

Regional from Sao Paulo seems the most hard of all of them. Is normal because as far as i know Sao Paoulo is the most powerfull economic hub of the country and one of the most populate zone.

Well thank you also for this extra info.

The smaller teams try their best in these championships because for them it is the main championship of the year, not to mention that for the players it is the chance to be seen and get a transfer to bigger teams and then change their lives and career level, for coaches the same thing, if the team manages to show good football and a good tactical scheme, they can get a spot in a big team... basically it is the possible opportunities that make them do so well in these championships.

Yes, I managed to win the bet, it was good for my bank, as I've been losing a lot of bets lately
the game took a long time because it was stopped due to the heavy rain, but it was worth watching, it was a great game
Flamengo are still very good and grow in moments of decision, they could be a good contender for the Brazilian championship title, Felipe Luis is doing a great work so far

Filipe Luis is starting his journey as a coach very well, he is doing better than Jorge Jesus at the beginning... the incredible fact is that he has more titles than defeats... and apparently he has a way of dealing with the players that is very sincere, with that he gains the trust of the entire team. I think he will be one of the great Brazilian coaches in the future, because he likes to study and has a very good knowledge of tactics and along with that he can speak the vocabulary of the players, because not long ago he was also a player.

State championships are very important, and they even qualify for the Brazilian Cup. Long before the Brazilian championship existed, state championships already existed. Many big teams use the first stage of the championship to do tests and a kind of extension of the pre-season, but in the second stage of the state championships, the clubs come with their main teams... Local rivalry is also very strong and the stadiums are usually packed. State championships are very important in Brazil.

Each state has its own rivalry. And this is wonderful for those who like confrontations, because there will always be rivalry in the matches and sometimes they are consecutive, first the match of region X, then the next day the match of region Y. This is interesting to watch.

In addition, the teams test before the main championship, which is the Brasileirão, and this fosters new talent.

It looks like my Flamengo made a profit this Sunday, right? Haha, very good.

I didn't watch the game. I took my daughter to play in the park, so I was completely disconnected from games and other things. I would have liked to have watched it, but you know how it is, family is more important. Anyway, even though I'm a Flamengo fan, I always imagine that something bad could happen. I even believed that Botafogo could win today's game, even though they weren't the favorites... but at least we've already lifted a trophy in 2025.

It is very likely that some players will now accept even less pay to come to Santos to play alongside Neymar. It will be a wave of just under 6 months. So, everyone wants to take advantage, and the player who has this opportunity and doesn't take it will be very penalized in the future.

Neymar will make his debut today and is expected to play 30 minutes
I thought we'd have a few more players in the squad, but they haven't announced any yet
I saw the Santos game last week and they managed to beat São Paulo and played very well. If the team gets it right and with the reinforcement of Neymar, they could be very good and strong again to fight for top 4 in campeonato brasileiro

From not being from Brazil i have one question to the nationals of Brazil. How much relevance did you give to the "estaduales" or regionals tournaments?

Are important or are simply a lose of time? Because i always see them as some little teams fighting against super big ones and they do a pretty good job.

Just a quick reminder, today is the Supercopa do Brasil, Botafogo vs Flamengo
the champions of the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa do Brasil will face each other in a single match
kicks off in 30 minutes

Good odds for betting

I'll put a few bucks in Flamengo

Yesterday, we watched match between Botafogo football team and Flamengo football team. Flamengo football team  was dominant in this match because one player gave good start in this match and made match one sided by doing back to back goals and his name is Henrique and he did first goal of the match at 13 minutes of the match and he did this goal at penalty and after this goal,he did goal after 7 minutes and he did goal and his team score was 2 but opponent team score was 0 . At the end of match , P. de Paula  did goal for the team and when match was close to end but that goal could not give win to his team. There was another person in the Flamengo team who did goal at 83 minutes of the match and that . That match was organized in the State Stadium Edgar Augusto Proença and that was lucky for Flamengo .

But does Santos have a team that can play for Neymar?...

Although I don't like Neymar very much, he plays very well and well above average
Santos managed to win a lot with him basically having the team play for him

If they manage to put together a good defense so as not to concede goals, they can simply focus on Neymar and play the whole game based on him and it could work out very well.
Any play he takes the ball on can result in a goal

Maybe Santos can still bring in 1 or 2 good players for the team
Maybe a player who is on the sidelines and has no team to play for hahaha, as we mentioned a few days ago, Marcelo, Felipe Melo etc

It is very likely that some players will now accept even less pay to come to Santos to play alongside Neymar. It will be a wave of just under 6 months. So, everyone wants to take advantage, and the player who has this opportunity and doesn't take it will be very penalized in the future.
