Although it is nice to see bitcoin reach four digits by the end of the year, I am already happy with its current price as the price it holds for the rest of the year. And for bitcoin to have another significant increase with just a little less than a month remaining might be asking too much. That could result in a quick dump as well.

The same was the case just before the block halving. People were heavily speculating about the price to break through $1000 while we didn't even reach the $800 level. Right now we're in exactly the same situation. Beside that, the price doesn't move on good news anymore. That however can't be said about bad news. Even the slightest form of "bad" news can make people panic sell like there is no tomorrow.

Yeah I've totally given up trying to speculate the price of Bitcoin anymore.
It seems so random these days LOL.  Tongue

I do think we can reach the $1000 mark eventually, we just need some new service to create more users.
Hopefully the Mega sharing platform or something like that happens soon and exposes new people to Bitcoin.
That's why it's called speculation. just a few opinions spread by people with some little reasons and can't guarantee the truth behind it and the fact that will be coming. service aren't giving big impact to bitcoin, though. the demands of the market are coming not because some services were existed but most people more likely to get interested in owning bitcoin

We haven't even hit $800.
Not sure why people are talking about $1000.
There is no big news or any announcement driving the price, so I would be surprised if it kept going up, honestly.

This would be great but I will speculate no.  It is amazing enough to see it in the solid 700's.  It has moved 150.00 in just a few months so that is great, but who knows, this is just speculation.

I dont think that BTC can scale upto 1000$ this year ,may be it will scroll to 820$ max. I researched a lot on tradingview today and reached to this conclusion.
With the steady increase in the price the possibility is that it could go up to $900 in coming weeks and will it happen before Christmas i highly doubt it with the way in which it is moving and i do expect a price drop during the holidays as i do expect people to book some profits

With just over 20 days to ago, and ~30% hike required, I wouldn't banking on this bit of news to make my Christmas day.
We got to have patience, irrespective of the stellar performance that Bitcoin has displayed this year.
Bitcoin is not having any negative news to go below the current rate and if the trend continues it could cross $800 in coming weeks and normally the price would take a dip during christmas and new year eve and thats what the historic graph says and so i do expect that during this year too.
Yes all current events (new US president and China looks for alternative investments etc) are supporting bitcoin prices to go upward. The festival seasons must be another big support for bitcoin prices to stay strong. Hopefully, we can expect bitcoin prices to reach ATH at any time in the remaining days of 2016.

That might indeed be a few reasons that the price goes upwards. 1000 dollar seems to me too high for the end of the year, but surely in 2017, that must be possible. I hope that the transactions doesn't go slower anymore, because that is not good. If there are problems with transactions during several days before the transaction is completed, i think people will stay away from bitcoin.

Will we find this gift under our tree?

I see no but hey we already have a gift under our tree by looking how far the price went up before the year ends. It's more thankful isn't it than a quick jump to the moon. It must maintain first the resistance if the price will reached $800 or $900 before breaching the $1000 mark.

Talking about the reality, average bitcoiner will surely use some of their bitcoin to take part of the Christmas Season. Since bitcoin value is quiet high to consider, I see some people will take advantage of it and use it primarily for regular spendings that is present during the said season.

My own speculation as always.

Cant wait to see it. We already reached once again the highest price this year and 1000 price this christnas is possible. If bitcoin can get through the 800$ ,1000$ in price is real
It can happen like in 2013 where the biggest rise was in December. Wouldn't it be great if the history repeated itself after 3 long years?

If you are believing that history is just repeating itself. There is still a month enough to see that if this possible to happen.

And this will make a lot of investors sell immediately their bitcoins that they are holding, so if this happens. Expect a very rapid price decrease too

And to many other traders it will be a sign that Bitcoin is destined to be much bigger than it is today. I'm sure that when the prices were at $300 last year people were telling themselves that once it doubles they'll take the profit and leave, but once it passed $600 there was no big crash back to $300 again. Instead it went up. $1000 is not a magic barrier, we've been there before!

To tell the truth, those people were right, to a certain extent. They was expecting the price to continue growing through the end of the halving, and it had in fact been growing till the time when the halving was about to happen. Many holders started to massively sell their bitcoins about a month before the event. So it was more about time, not price as such.

I don't even know that there is a reason for Bitcoin to hit $800 honestly.
Unless the situation in India is bringing in that many new users, this is just a bubble.
No new services, still having confirmation issues, people still arguing over segwit.
There is actually zero good news about Bitcoin right now.

But was there any reason for Bitcoin to hit $700 before? Methinks, it is impossible to say with certainty in regard to any price level. But we could still speculate that Bitcoin adoption increases and that stimulates prices to grow. If it is really so, the prices should be slowly rising over time. But isn't that what we have seen recently? The price has been moving inside the range for quite some time now, and maybe it's time to move higher?

I see bitcoin price climbing while most of the altcoins are falling.
I suppose money flows from altcoin to bitcoin.
Maybe because ETH as number two in market capitalization went down so hard the last few days, people are losing trust into altcoins in general.

It looks more like price adjustment. Whenever Bitcoin grows, most altcoins are going down because their prices are given in bitcoins. Basically, it means that there is no real flowing of money from altcoins to bitcoin and back.

Regarding Bitcoin price itself, if it doesn't go below $750 next few days, that level may establish itself as a new support before going higher, to the next resistance level at $800. That said, we are likely going to trend in that range through the end of 2016.
